There are also 3 slightly ... morelarger pavers from the same site included. These beautiful antique bricks have some pinks. Reds, orange and purples in the clay they made them with that still show nicely. North central Piedmont NC made brick, possibly hand made, no stamped name. These brick would make great accent pavers to a walkway or landscape project with other masonry products. They are approx. 8"x4"x2.5" and weigh about 5 lbs. each. The 4x8 surfaces are clean and I removed almost all the mortar also. Some of the tar from the flashing still shows on some of the 2.5x8 sides and white paint, not really visible in a paver application. They are on a small pallet and ready to go. The last picture shows the additional bricks I added to the side of the pallet. Free local pick up or making other shipping arrangements(try U-Ship) With the pallet they weigh approx. 390 lbs. AUTHENTIC ANTIQUE "SLAVE HAND- MADE" SAVANNAH GREY 1/2 BRICK FROM SAVANNAH, GA.
You are looking at an authentic antique(early 1800's) Savannah Grey 1/2 brick which was hand made by slaves. I moved to Savannah. Ga. about 20 years ago and worked in the masonry trade for a while and became familiar with the Savannah Grey brick and it's history. In 1815 Henry McAlpin purchased the Hermitage Plantation and in 1819 he built a brick manufacturing plant in which the bricks at that time were made by hand, by slaves. They are larger than your normal brick, reddish brown in color and do not have straight crisp edges, mostly rounded and warped. Many of the old buildings and homes still standing in Savannah today were built with Savannah Greys. They are a very cool, heavy duty(this 1/2 brick weighs close to 3.5 lbs) brick and becoming harder and harder to find. This 1/2 brick measures about 5" x 4" x 3"

John Deere 1.5 HP hit and miss antique engine on original cart
Up for sale is a 1928 John Deere 1.5 hp"E" hit and miss engine on original John Deere trucks(cart) This is an older restoration I did in the last 1970s. It ran fine as of roughly 5 years ago but has been sitting in my garage since then. The magneto was rebuilt in the early 1980s. The end cap and rotor ends were replaced using NOS(new old stock) John Deere parts- those are the parts that commonly"rot" on these. Anyone who knows antique engines and magnetos would probably get the magnet recharged. The cart is original John Deere- at some point before I bought it. The rear axle casting had broken was welded by a past owner. Not very neat but it's been strong. The photos show the rear axle casting having been welded. The muffler does not have the cast"screen" with the holes in it. The muffler is missing the guts ... moreand has been that way since I bought it in the 70s. The fuel tank has been patched using an old oil can tin soldered to the bottom of the tank. Since it has been sitting for a few years I expect the check valve in the tank is gummed up from sitting. There is a cracked spoke on the crank-side flywheel. I show the crack in the photos. Although I've run it this way since day one- I highly recommend the new owner replace that flywheel. I can point you to someone who can furnish a good flywheel for it- they are not difficult to change. As I always drained the blocks of all water when done with a show the block has no splits or cracks. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. ~ Will help load onto trailer or into pickup. Descriptive, topogaphical, decorative, theoretical, and mechanical; alphabetically arranged, familiarly explained and adapted to the comprehension of workmen, c. c. This is written by Robert Stuart. It was published by Jones, and Co. I did not find any copyright dates. The latest date in the list of architects at the back of volume 2 is 1813. This is for volumes 1 and 2; volume 1 covers terms A-DA and volume 2 covers DA-Z. This set originally contained a third volume with the plates, so there are no pictures in the first two volumes. VOLUME 3 IS NOT INCLUDED! These measure about 8 3/4" by 5 5/8" These books are in very rough condition. The leather on the spine is mostly missing. What is left is brittle and flaking; please assume more pieces will fall off during shipping. The covers ... morehave wear. There are tears and missing pieces to the covers. The corners are bent and the cardboard is fraying. The front cover on volume 2 is mostly torn off; it is hanging on by a very tiny piece. The binding is broken on both volumes. The pages have yellowing and bends. Volume 2 has some loose pages at the back. The spine is printed upside down to the book-if the spine is rightside up the book is upside down. The covers on volume 1 are torn at the spine in several spots. The pages of the books have some small tears. The covers and spine of these books are in rough condition. Unknown any history of it. It does measure 11-1/2" wide and 2-1/2" thick. This one is round, and has definetly been used, a little ruff on each side and a few chuncks taken out on both sides.
