7 victorian plinth blocks antique
These are 7 old Victorian plinth blocks. They are not oak but most likely made from yellow pine. They are in original condition. The two extra blocks in picture one are not included.Four measure approx. 5 1/4 inches wide and 11 inches tall and three measure 5 inches wide and 8 inches tall. They are approx. 1 inch thick. They are in good condition for their age with a few cracks that you can see in the pictures. They each have the original nail holes. Five have been stripped and two have the original finish. Antique Stair Carriages This is a group of antique circa 1880 Victorian stair carriages. These have a long story to them. But I will make it short. These came from a Victorian home that was demolished in Falls Church. Va. in the 1970's. My parents have had them stored and they intended to use them in their house. But new ones were used instead. There are 7 carriages total. They are a sturdy wood. I am not sure what kind of wood it is. Perhaps oak. These measure anywhere from 50" long to 63" long and are all about 11" wide. They are all 2" thick. You can use them for a staircase. Or fit them together and make a unique table or bench or anything really. Shelves are another unique option. NEWSIDE, PA. they are marked with a patent of August 12, 1902, marked around the center piercing on the bird. These were used in Northern states to break up heavy snow and ice from the roof. It helped with the weight of the snow on the roof and prevented large sheets of it from crashing down on those below. Growing up in Ohio, I remember seeing these staggered along the roof edge on grand old slate-roofed houses. The eight birds all have some surface rust and roughness from years of service but they are all still perfectly sound and ready for another 100 years of watching over your house. RARE antique parlor aquarium victorian conservatory architectural
Amazing 2 year restoration project of a rare 1890's Victorian conservatory/parlor aquarium. This aquarium would have sit in the parlor or conservatory(greenhouse) of a wealthy industrialist of the time period as aquariums of this type were expensive even back 120+ years ago. This beautiful aquarium is made of cast iron from the"plant shelf" down.The iron base has a beautiful swirl pattern with"faces in headdress" on each leg. The 10 gallon(approximately) hexagon aquarium is made from stamped zinc and the top filigree and urn are made from copper. The height is 58" and the width and depth is 28" x 28" The original aquarium probably had a steam powered air pump that sit on the shelf right below the plant shelf. I have this aquarium currently running with a new external pump and cartridge filter that is ... moreenclosed in a black steel powder coated"box" so as not to distract from the aquarium. I only know of 3 of these aquariums in my 35+ years of collecting these tanks. 2 of them I own and the other lives in Canada with another collector friend of mine. Restoration; Both of mine had the top zinc aquarium either missing or in rusted pieces. It took me several years to find a metal guy who took the time to make a pattern and replicate the aquarium from scratch and then we found a 125 year old tin metal ceiling company that looks like they made the actual top filigree and urn for this aquarium for the original iron company back in the 1890's! The iron base and shelf are are original although I added black slate on top of the shelf to hold the potted plants. original was wood( Painted to the original colors from the 1890's. Please see the pictures below the description You are bidding on an antique Victorian bell. Which is possibly a servants bell, but more likely a front door bell from a large house. I am not sure if the bell is bronze or bell metal- there is no maker on it, just the number'14' cast on the side. It is mounted on a spring steel coiled strip which is fixed on a square attached to the wall. There is no square mount with the bell. Unusually, the bell still also has its square steel bell pull with rectangular shaped brass knob. This would have gone through the door frame and a wire would be attached to the hole in the end, the other end being attached to the ring on the bell. Its condition is good and original, but it needs a clean as this has not been done for many, many years. Here is a great old find! This is an antique victorian architectural drawing with floor plans and maps for a victorian house. These plans were drawn by Rorison and Key Architects. The plans were for a house on Normal Street in Ypsilanti Michigan for a Mr. De Cue. Each page is drawn on a coated cloth paper with paper maps attached on the back of each page. The maps are property owners names and how many acres they owned. The drawings include a south view of the house. Second floor layout, first floor layout and a basement layout. The drawings are rolled and attached to a wooden dowel covered with a heavy canvase. There are some rips, torn pages and other minor defects. Please review the photos for the item condition. This is an antique item and is not a reprint drawing!

This neat old bell measures 5 1/2" tall and is in working condition. The nickel plate is worn off of the button and the acorn shaped striker. There is some high spot wear on the base as well. A pair of late Victorian decorative cast iron brackets. 14 3/4" high, 11" length from wall. The decorative element reminds me of the type of"gingerbread" that you see on Aesthetic period bamboo furniture. The iron looks like steam-bent wood or bamboo that has been lashed in place with rattan. The surface is so crusty with old paint coats that I'm sure that more detail and maybe even a foundry name would be revealed when these are stripped. They have single mounting holes at the bottom and double mounting holes at the top. One mounting hole is broken off of one bracket but you are still left with sufficient holes to mount it securely. Tanned skinned, smiling young woman wearing a headband and red rose in her hair. Original, round wire loop hanger at top. No stamps, numbers or markings. Condition shows paint loss and piece is very dusty. Mold has no chips. Cracks or damage but this young lady has a few miles on her. Paint loss along edges of hair, under left eye and at end of nose. Antique Victorian Gothic fretwork tracery oak glass light lantern from a church
A beautiful antique Victorian Gothic Revival church lantern made from oak/ oak veneer and graduated frosted glass. The lantern itself is square profile. Measuring 6" x6" across the moulded oak framed top and 5.5" x 5.5" across the similar open base. The wooden structure stands 6.75" high, plus the hanging arrangement which is fitted to the original oak/oak veneer shaped central plate- this sill has its original tiny domed screws. The 4 original panels of frosted/sand-blasted glass are graduated from a speckled terracotta/rust colour at the top to colourless at the bottom, giving a lovely warm, mellow tone to the lighting. The panels are still held in by the tiny, original metal tabs and pins inside the oak frame. The gorgeous Gothic tracery fretwork panels are cut from what looks like an oak veneered board rather ... morethan solid oak(but I could be wrong) All this and the dark oak dyed& waxed finish are completely intact and original. There are a couple of tiny chips/ scuffs to the oak here and there which are inevitable given the age of this piece, but no faults to the fragile tracery and no splits, repairs or other problems. I bought this lantern from a church antiques specialist when I first moved into my Victorian Gothic house around 10 years ago and it has been hanging here and in use ever since. I had a very nice antique copper finish bulb holder with integral hanging hook fitted along with bronze coloured new(safe! flex and a very authentic looking Gothic style bronze finish chain with ceiling rose and internal electrical fittings for direct wiring to the household mains. It is 100% ready to hang elsewhere. Easily postable. I am aiming to keep the bubblewrapped, padded and strongly boxed lantern parcel to within the Royal Mail's'up to 2kg, medium parcel' rate. Description Matching restored set of 5 all removed from the same property. Probably dating from around 1880. The bells, fixing plates, return springs and arms are all original but the flower decorations are good quality reproductions. Originally they weren't in great condition and had numerous coats of paint. All the bells, arms and fixing plates have been cleaned and lightly polished and both springs stripped cleaned and finished with an iron paste in the traditional way. These 5 were originally in a line on a board and were mounted under pressure with tight wire and were pulled from the right. Sold as a set of 5. If you have any questions please ask. Antique Victorian Fretwork Stick and Ball Architectural Salvage Opera House
This piece of victorian fretwork is salvage from the restoration of an 1890 opera house. It measures 39 by 12 inches. The finish is worn and there are four places that will need repair. Two 11 x 14" Original Antique Victorian dated 1897 pressed Botanical done by Agnes Stetson who was a student at Coburn Classical Institute Vassalboro. Maine 1897.
