This great looking old pulley was a barn find from an old farm estate in Southern Iowa and is in excellent condition. It has been cleaned and rubbed with an all-natural beeswax to protect its beautiful old patina and is ready for display in any rustic/ old industrial setting. Overall the pulley measures 14 inches tall and 7 ½ by 4 ½ inches wide. The wooden wheel is 7 ½ inches in diameter and turns easily. There is an iron eyelet on top for hanging that oscillates and allows the pulley to swivel. This is a beautiful old pulley that'll make a wonderful addition to any collection. Handle extends 5.5" Not sure if a band is missing from the bottom or if the existing band has dropped down. Only part of the label is left. On the underside of the right side of the tongue is stamped what looks like" Canby" and there is more, but I can't make it out. Here is a very heavy duty supply wagon running gear. All solid. No rot. Heavy duty wheels and tongue. The rear wheels measure about 44" and the fronts at 40" The running gear itself measures about 13ft, and the tongue adds another 11. From outside hub to outside hub it is about 73" wide. The front and rear axles separate, and the tongue comes off to make transport easier. I remember dad sanding for hours and hours before he put the verathane on the spokes. After this many years, it still looks really great! If you are going to put it outside, I'd recommend another coat of verathane just to make sure it is all sealed. 70' wooden antique stair railing and 89 spindles
Removing stairway and hallway banisters and balusters from old house circa 1850. Total of aprx. 70' of banister and 89 balusters. The original banister started on the second floor attic door with an arc then runs the length of the hallway arcs again to run down the stairwell arcs again to run down the first floor hallway arcs again to run down the basement stairwell. The original banister was cut at the bottom of the stairwell and a Newel post was inserted to finish the run then cut or detached again at the arc where the basement stairwell run started. I believe this railing to be over 150 years old and I was told it is cherry wood but I am not positive of they type of wood but it is beautiful. The 70' of railing and the 89 balusters are in very good condition. 2 Antique Japanese Wooden Shutters Panels Doors Screens with Painted Panels
Two Antique Japanese Shutters/ Panels These shutters were part of some local Austin Estate items. Dark wood with some carved details and painted panels in the center. The lower panels have also have some drawings. A dragon on one and a horse on the other Each panel measures 39" tall x 13-3/4" wide x 1" thick Condition: These are very old. But very stable. Not wobbly or falling apart. They do have quite a bit of patina from age. There are signs of normal use and wear. They each have wooden pegs at the top and bottom that were probably what held them in place and allowed them to be opened or move. These pegs could easly be removed if you did not want them They each have a painting in the center panel The paintings each depict a woman and small child. They are outdoor scenes with foliage and one has a umbrella or canopy over her ... morehead. The center panel painting have some scratches. The panel on the left has only a very few scratches. The panel on the right(see closeup pictures) has more scratches. I don't know if the scratches were from normal use or if someone. Maybe a child scratched them. The scratches are just on the surface, they are not deep. The paintings are kind of muted so from a distance the scratches are not a big problem. I think it would be simple to touch them up, but I will leave that for the buyer to decide. Or, if you like the center panels could be removed by pulling a few nails and replaced with another image. I really like them as they are. Each of the panels has an old white sticker on the backside with a number. One of the panels has a sticker on the side that reads'Customs Permission' This item is from a non-smoking. Pet-free environment. Decorative scrolled cast panel with wooden frame This decorative panel was removed from a public house in Edinburgh. It was renovated some years ago and stored until now, when in situe it was used as a grille for the extraction system, it sat there for many years and is believed to be from the Edwardian era, it is superb quality and could be made into a real feature in a residential or commercial property. As you see from the pictures the panel and frame were originally all painted in the same colour red. I have had the panel stripped to reveal a truly stunning piece of metal casting, initially I believing it to be cast iron, it is not cast iron but some kind of heavy alloy, it's in absolutely perfect condition and could be refitted as it is, or again mounted in the frame, which is also in excellent condition. Not sure what the ribbed"pedestal" came from. But I had a nic nac sitting on top of it. It is 2" square and 3" high. The round ball probably came from the top of a railing post. A great old wooden piece that I believe probably came off a gable end of an old building. Believe the wood is probably poplar or walnut and has had several coats of old white paint(would suppose there is some old lead paint just to cover that possibility) Approx 24" diameter x 1 3/8" thick with larger outer part being 2 pieces joined(photo 4) The cut out part is a single board 18" in diameter x 7/8" thick and nailed on from the backside. Has lost some of it's old paint but wood is solid without any rotten parts. Ships at 14 lbs packed and insured.
