Description This is an exceptional staircase that was salvaged from a Victorian Mansion in Clarion. PA. We have pretty much everything. Two newel posts. Railings, barley twist balusters, moldings, landings, and paneling. As you walked in the front door. The staircase was just ahead. You take three steps to the first landing. Turn right and up two steps to the second landing. Turn right and up 13 steps to the second floor. Turn right to hallway railing that is 153 inches long. Handrail going up 13 steps is 129 long. Landing 1 is 41.25 long by 40.25 wide. Landing 2 is 39.75 by 39.25. The steps are just over 7 inches high by 11.25 deep. My guy calls this a 7-10 rise. The first floor newel post is 85 inches tall with a paneled shaft. Carved cap and turned finial. The second floor newel is 51.25 inches from the top to the floor. It has carvings ... moreat the top and great ornate moldings and a big finial on the first floor ceiling. This newel post is nailed into the joist and goes through to the first floor ceiling. Everything except the treads and risers which are pine. Is made of 1/4 sawn oak and is unpainted. Exceptionally rare to find a staircase this nice that is 99% complete. Overall it is in very good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. Some of the balusters were broken but we have all the parts. Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of 1/4 sawn oak and is currently painted. It was originally in a Master Bedroom as a built in vanity with his and hers closets to either side. The center section is recessed and is backed with a beveled mirror and has a washstand below. There is a drawer and small cabinet at the bottom. To either side are doors to access the closets. Each has 4 flat panels. The center panels have great carvings. There is a drawer below each door. The legs are fluted and topped with carved corbels. There are great carved pediments. Brackets, and crown at the top. Some of the hardware needs to be replaced. It measures 101.5 inches wide. ARCHITECTURAL ANTIQUE : CARVED OAK TRIM FRAGMENT
HAND CARVED OAK TRIM FRAGMENT: Very nicely carved section of oak casing trim. The oak has the darkened original varnish/stain finish at one end of the piece. And a cleaned medium oak finish at the other end. This was done to illustrate the darkened state of finish that the piece was found in, and to contrast it with a more natural finish. The thick piece of oak has been hand carved in an acanthus leaf design, with a ball and reed bottom banding. Each end has a 45 degree mitered cut. The oak trim has been mounted on a hand carved white marble fragment with a carved acanthus leaf relief. The combination of the marble base and oak trim resulted in an interesting composition of hand carved architectural art. The oak casing trim is 21 3/4" long x 4 1/2" high x 2 1/4" thick. The marble fragment base is 12" long x 6" high ... morex 2 1/2" thick. The overall mounted height is 7 1/2" weight is 10 1/2 lbs. Please note that item was photographed under studio lighting. Antique Victorian Oak Stair & Hall Railing Spindles Trim Carved Style Ornate
LOCAL PICKUP ONLY This stair and rail system is one of the most unique and striking examples of victorian wood working I have ever seen! All original. Taken from a large farm house built in the mid 1800's. Made of Oak, it has an original light coat of varnish remaining. It consists of three sections; The back hall; the side hall; and the stairs. The back hall has a rail that measures 45 1/2 inches long. The spindles measure 28 1/2 inches tall and are attached by means of pins, holes, and grooves, there were almost no nails used. The side hall rail measures 9 ft 5 inches, has 11 spindles spaced apart 10 inches on center. The post that connects the side and back rails measures 39 1/2 inches tall. The stair rail measures 14 ft 6 inches long with 14 spindles measuring 26 inches tall.All the pieces are pegged and slotted to fit perfectly into ... moreeach other. The oak rail measures 3 3/4th inches tall and is 2 1/4th inches wide with a groove at the bottom to accept the spindles. The posts have some damage and need to be worked on. There are a few trim pieces for below the stair treads that could be used as patterns, I have not cleaned or altered this item and am selling in the original as found condition. The middle piece being a well carved and detailed bar scene. It is thick and heavy and as you can see the wood has great character and patina. The wooden interior was crafted under the direction of the Hayden Company of New York. You are bidding on the entire lot that comprises recovered wood interior pieces that were sold off at auction when the Tudor estate was demolished in 1973. Pictures have been taken of most items. Yet individual pieces have not been cataloged so no specific number of items can be assured. At least 20 pieces, possibly upward of 50 total. There is approximately 600 sq feet of paneling- enough to recreate a panel room or use the pieces to renovate several rooms. This is a designer's dream! FABULOUS CARVED ANTIQUE FRENCH(DUTCH? OAK PEDIMENT OR MOULDING Just wonderful with a carved overhanging tulip at the very top. This is what makes me think it could be Dutch maybe. A good piece for embellishing an early period house. All the usual decorative flowing swirls and leaves. Very good central details of a raised anemone or daisy with this falling overhanging tulip above. Really unusual and rather beautiful. Perfect size with and overall length of approx. 24 inches and a height of 10.5 inches. It measures approx: 24 inches- 62 cms in length. The overall height is 10.5 inches- 26 cms. At the base the depth is 0.5 inch- 1.5 cms. The fabulous tulip at the top stands proud by 2 inches- 5 cms. At first I thought it had some slivers missing but on looking closer I think there are none. All part of the hand carving. Some scuffs. Marks and ... moreslight cracks on the back from it's past life. No signs of past or present worm. Over a door. Mirror or a topping for drapes over a bed.
