Sevres or Limoges French Porcelain Hand Painted Large Box Signed and Beautiful
Up for sale is what I believe to be a Sevres or Limoges porcelain box. It is chip and crack free. The lid does not close completely due to some adhesive loss on the inside back hinge. I do not know what the filler is called that attaches the brass to the porcelain. There is also some brass loss on the front clasp. This is a large box measuring 6 5/8" wide and 3 1/4" tall. It is signed on the bottom and on the painting.

Binding of La Promenade 1668 And my favorite part is the marbled sides as a Trompe L'oeil effect for pages. Interior is lined in gold paper. I think it was most probably used as a Bonbonniere. So rare and beautiful.Condition has been repaires. A crack in the center of the front cover above the putti. It has been repaired to appear as part of the road. Antique Samson famille rose covered box French
This rose colored box has a rose done in relief on the top. The piece was made by the French firm Samson and is in the style of famille rose porcelain made by the Chinese in the 18 th century. The box is 5 ½ inches tall and 4 ½ inches in diameter. It is marked with the pseudo mark used by Samson. It dates to the late 19 th or early 20 th century. There is no damage to the piece but there is a firing flaw on the inside lip of the lid. It is shown in the pictures. Signature confirmation is included in the shipping price. And"FBS Hand Painted Made in France. Approx. 9" long by 4.5" deep by 5.5" high. Has a Capodimonte design. Obviously borrowed from the original Italian producer. Very nice condition. No chips or cracks. This box features 8 small dark-haired. Hand-painted Puti cherubs. 10 children, 4 birds, and other decorations like floral. Half of the box design repeats on the other side. The upper part has 6 cherubs( 2 with torches. The other 4 lounging) while on the bottom part each side has 5 children: ... moreplaying leapfrog. Using a stick as a riding horse, lying down watching) and the ends have 2 facing birds on either side of the handles. It's mounted on a gilt-bronze metal frame which has an intricate banding. It also has a gilt-bronze finial on top. Hinged lid opens and closes with a snug fit. NOTE: The hinge is perfect-no gaps or separations! The inside has a robin’s egg blue glaze and the cover has a raised decoration, which is accented with gold gilt and in the center of the cover is an inlaid 2 ½” diameter silver& gilt medallion of a Cherub or Putti. As you can see in our photographs, there is some light wear to the gilded accents, and I also found a very tight, spider hairline to the back of the box.
