Chimney 100 ft. antique vintage red brick architectural salvage 1 million bricks
Want to own a 100 foot tall red brick chimney from the 1860's? Built during the civil war for the increased production at this New England Thread Mill. The Gardiner Hall Jr. Company Thread Manufacturing Co. Was built so high because the entire mill was originally wood fired for the steam processing and they needed good draft to keep the wood burning. Water power from the lake above provided the mechanical power to turn the looms,etc. I don't really know but guess there are close to 1.000,000 bricks in it. It is about 14' wide at the base where the walls are 2' thick and tapers to 6' at the top where it is about 16" thick. There is also a trash burning area at the bottom that you can somewhat see in the photos which has a steel door access which goes with the chimney. There is a copper cabled lighting rod protection ... moresystem in place that goes with it as well. Take it away and rebuild it at your place or sell the bricks or buy the whole thread mill building from me. You're responsible for all labor. Material, etc. required to dismantle this chimney and must a have a liability insurance policy naming me additional insured before work can begin. $10.000 for it all comes out to one penny per brick! Reclaimed from a central Pennsylvania home. 1 45"H newel, 62 spindles, of which 15 are 28 1/2"L and 47 are 32"L, 4 lengths of banister 138" for the landing, another 80" section for the landing, 148" for the stairs, and 40 3/4" again for the stairs. Cat#S-7. Three glass vintage bricks(blocks) 2 corner, 1 square(w/ slightly chipped corner) SIZE-8" tall x 7" long x 3" deep and corner ones are 5" deep. These glass bricks were used where you needed a little more light in a wall. Now you can find them reproduced. But these are heavier and thicker. Depicts a naked boy body heavily carved in high relief, his legs are bent, the appearance of the wings, which are not prominent, are flowing in the background extending from the shoulder area, very nice in every way, not sure if this was part of another architectural piece, the edges have borders, there is a small hole at the top, not sure of the wood but it is heavy and has soem nice graining, especially where cupid is, the background panel is thinner.
