Rare Pair of American Federal Mahogany Antique Card Tables, Philadelphia c. 1790
Rare Pair of American Federal Mahogany Card Tables Possibly Philadelphia or New England States c. 1790-1800 Item# 130108USB12 This is a fantastic and rare acquisition- a fully original Pair of American Federal Mahogany Card Tables. They probably originate from Philadelphia. Though this form is also found in New York and the New England States. The tops are simply above reproach, each a single solid plank of mahogany with stringer inlay along the outer edges; the curved ovolu corners are sharp and precise, the boards each displaying magnificent dense grains and lifting over original untouched hinges. Brilliant mahogany veneers are edged with cockbead molding applied along the lower edge. All four legs have great form, these a distinctive evolution of the Marlboro leg with a well developed taper. Beneath the mahogany veneers. The sides of the ... moretables are crafted mostly of white pine with some solid mahogany; the back gate leg is oak and the back of the frame is white pine. The gate leg is affixed to the back of the frame with eight wrought nails on one table, seven wrought nails on the other. Original blocking is retained on one table, the other crafted without this blocking- interior structure shows no evidence of the table ever having been crafted with the blocking, which was probably deemed superfluous in light of the remarkable strength of the structure. Another minor variation between the tables is the gate leg: one table has a double pinned tenon joint, the other table crafted with the same tenon joint but only using glue. For any serious collector of fine American Federal antiques. This is an exceptional pair of card tables. They are very rare and difficult to acquire in original pairs, often being separated by heirs as family members divide out the inheritance. Remaining in an excellent state of preservation, these are a very desirable acquisition. Measurements: table one] 37 5/8" wide x 18 1/4" deep x 29 5/8" high; 36 11/16" deep x 29" high when opened; table two] 37 5/8" wide

IMPORTANT 18TH CENTURY COASTAL MAINE MAHOGANY ROPE CARVED WORTH TABLE
18TH CENTURY COASTAL MAINE MAHOGANY SHERATON ROPE CARVED WORK TABLE-SAMUEL SEWALL CIRCA 1785 With our absolute thrill we are proud to bring you one of the most special work table we have seen in a very long time. This true late 18th Century solid cuban mahogany coastal(now Southern) Maine work table is. In our opinion attributable to Samuel Sewall. This is simply the best example of this school of furniture making. It has four robust turned carved legs that gives it a stout handsome presence and defines it with a very charming colonial American technique of carving that incorporates a technique of the larger city furniture making disciplines with a almost primitive technique of the earlier Coastal Maine mahogany pieces. This one just shredded all of our opinions and caused a very heated debate. Just everything is fabulous on this table. The ... moreonly negative and we are not going to make any apologies or excuses for it are two plugs crudely, but charmingly applied to fill the key holes. Why? We can't guess. If that bothers you just pop them out and reset two simple half mortise locks back in the channels. We are just not going to touch it or anything about it. For those of you who follow us you'll note work tables are something of a specialty of ours. This is one of the best we have had in years in the category that gets our hearts racing. This specimen has a fabulous first finish and untouched so pure first surface. A true 18th Century New England gem! We are seriously considering reducing costs, energy, and assets by obviating Important American Furniture sales and just doing it all right here. We will see. So far we have just met the most wonderful and educated collectors here and we can't see why that won't just get better. This table's measurements are 17" long, 22" wide(deep) 29" tall and it is 33 1/2" long with its leaves locked open. Rare American Chippendale Antique Table, Single Drop Leaf, Ball & Claw c.1770-90
Rare American Chippendale One Leaf Table American Black Walnut w/ Shell Carved Legs on Ball& Claw Feet Probably Connecticut River Valley. C. 1770-90 Item# 130309GZP24 A fine work of the American Chippendale period. This is an exceedingly rare form. Termed by Wallace Nutting a"Sideboard Table" the form is generally recognized as a One Leaf Drop Leaf Table, a piece intended for display against the wall with it's exposed apron facing out. As such, the front two legs are highlighted with beautiful raised shells while the rear legs are unadorned. Crafted of what appears to be[not micro-analyzed] an American Black Walnut of well selected flowing grain. The top board and leaf both display a wonderful ribbing at the center surrounded by wide flowing veins; similarly in the apron and legs, the veins are large and run in distinct ... morechannels in a way that enhances the cabriole of the leg and does not distract from the scrolling scallop of the apron. While single leaf drop-leaf tables are predominantly found in Massachusetts. This table exhibits every indication of being of Connecticut craftsmanship with the distinct influence of Delaware River Valley tradition in it's construction and form. The sides of the apron are recessed, the inner edges of the leg posts being thumb molded and flanking the inset apron and knee returns, clearly reminiscent of Philadelphia treatment of this leg[see Kugelman. P. 136, fig 3.5 for a discussion of similar features on a dining table with East Windsor CT provenance and likely origin] Likewise. The pinned tenon-mortise joinery in the frame and legs is borrowed from this region. The intensely scalloped apron exudes grace and liveliness with a repeating lobe flanked by a half step[for similar apron treatments see Kugelman. P. 88-91- those documented of Wethersfield, Connecticut craftsmanship] The purity of the craftsmanship is representative of a very accomplished artisan; every detail is perfected. Note the close up images of the underside of the returns; while usually these

OLD Antique Flame Mahogany American Games Table 18th C on Mid Century Base
This is a marriage of a very old beautiful table top and mid century base and legs. The top of table is amazing. It believe it is flame mahogany. There was some type of apron around the bottom edge that has been removed. As you can see there is a huge patina difference where it was. The bottom of table has never been stained. There is a mid century base that has been added to make it a coffee table height. I am not a furniture expert. But I estimate the table top to be 18th or early 19th C. The base and legs are 1950's or 60's. Table is about 35 inches across. I think it is just two mirror image boards. There is a partial age crack that is lighter colored on the bottom, but It does not go all the way across. You can't see it at all on the top. The table is in very good to excellent condition with some minor wear as shown. I have ... moretaken several close ups for your consideration. There are also a couple of small knots in the bottom of table. They are not on the top. I see no shadow of where a base would have been in the middle. This is a mystery table.Very interesting! If you know about furniture, I would like to hear your opinion of the age of the table top. What do you think?

18th Century Antique Italian Gilt and Painted Wall Mount Bracket Console Table
this is an 18th century.I believe early 18th century.Wall mount Bracket type Console. It is in original finish.that appears to be almost a faux tortoise shell with hand etched and gilded ribbons over it.The painting is done over a gesso.and there are cracks and some missing piece of the finish.it is ALL original and OLD. This is the real deal. It does NOT have it's original marble top.and is being sold without a top. The actual top of the pieces could be waxed up and used as it is.it has a wonderful OLD patina.and you can see the mortised construction in the top. Check out all of the pictures of this REAL antique piece. I'm pretty sure it's made in Italy.and I am sure it's 18th Century. The construction is really great.and I have tried to show the"insides" so you can see how it's put together. It does have two ... morepieces of new wood attached to the back that come with matching pieces that you mount on the wall.and then just sit this into.for easy(and safe) hanging. GREAT foyer piece.it's 42" long and 20 1/2" deep.and it's height is 26"and can be hung however high you'd like the surface to be.Would look great with a gilded mirror over it. NOTE: This piece is in original"AS FOUND" 18th century condition.it is NOT a new reproduction.look at pictures.and examine losses.I consider it great condition for age.but be your own judge. A marble top could be cut fairly reasonably if you choose that route.or it would be more"modern" with a mirrored top.or a"marbelized top"or as I mentioned.it's great as is.seeing it's"construction" and age. American Queen Anne Antique Candle Stand w/ Shaped Cherry Top, Late 18th Century
American Queen Anne Cherry Candle Stand New England States. C. Late 18th Century Item# 130008FDA12 This very cute American Queen Anne Antique Candle Stand is simply a treasure. Of quite petite dimensions. It is a piece that was crafted to be truly functional and enjoyable in a room without redefining the space. It was almost certainly made in the New England States during the last days of the 18th Century; crafted of solid cherry, the top is a beautiful solid plank shaped with oxbow corners and an ogee edge carved of the solid. The bottom is deeply oxidized, revealing variations in the surface with the unfinished hand-planing marks still clearly evident along the exposed surface. The pedestal tenons through a rectangular base, this affixed to the top with three hand filed steel screws set in chip carved wells. A simple turned pedestal emphasizes ... morethe graceful flow of the table, again without over-embellishment and in harmony with the choice of cherry and the soft curve of the snake legs. The legs tenon into the pedestal with small dovetails, the feet terminating in pointed shoes. A wonderful find for any period home where a small functional table is necessary for a living space. Perhaps beside the sofa or a fine Period chair, this is a piece you will cherish and enjoy regularly for a lifetime. Measurements: top] 16" x 15 1/2" 25 3/4" high Condition Report: Top has slight warp to it. Visible in the pictures. Dings, abrasions and burn marks throughout, all visible in the pictures; cracks in the pedestal and one old crack in a leg. Finish is replaced, probably 20th Century. One leg is repaired, possibly(though highly unlikely) a replacement- it has the same even preserved patina beneath the shellac as the other legs. Retains it's original screws, one absent. Please review all images in the slideshow for a full overview of condition.

English or Irish Chippendale Mahogany Tea Table w/ Ball Claw Feet c. 1755-85
Fine Chippendale Mahogany Shell Carved Tea Table Probably Ireland. Possibly England, c. 1755-85 Item# 130309DVH23 As one of the most beautiful and well balanced. Well proportioned and finely embellished tea tables we've ever carried, this is a rare and exceptional work of art. The top is a solid plank of mahogany with the rim scooped from the solid in a smooth curve. Projecting softly over the frame, the deep scalloping of the apron just dances and flows, greatly lightening what could easily be an overly heavy apron in the hands of a lesser artisan. The mahogany for the apron was chosen with care, the dense closed grain with a soft flow that follows the soft curve of the apron. Central to both sides of the apron is an applied shell carving. The table rests over cabriole legs with heavily carved acanthus leafage around a checkered knee, ... moreeach leg terminating in highly detailed ball and claw feet. The top affixes to the frame with original pine blocking, the underside of the top being inscribed illegibly. Almost certainly of Irish origin. Though possibly of British origin with Irish influence, this table remains in simply outstanding condition. Preserved and original in every way, this selection is sure to delight the most serious collectors of fine English furniture. Measurements: 30 1/4" wide x 19 1/2" deep x 27 3/4" high Condition Report: Some sunbleaching. More notable to one shell carved side than the other three sides- this side likely was facing forward. Finish preserved under later layers of wax. Light losses to edge of one shell, though the front remains crisp and well presented. Lip of top is patched in one section with a 4 5/8" long patch. Separation at one joint revealing the tenon joinery inside. All glue blocks are original, one missing, eight reglued with carpenter's glue in the last decade. Underside is inscribed illegibly. Old yellow label underneath. Sturdy, stable and overall in very fine condition. Please review all images in the slideshow for a full overview of condit

IRISH Mahogany Oval WAKE Table GEORGE III Drop Leaf or Loper
GEORGE III. Oval Hinged Mahogany Wake Table on Square Legs c1750-1800 This Irish Wake. Loper Table, Drop Leaf table has been in my family for over 100 years. It was passed down to me about 20 years ago and has been one of my favorite pieces. Unfortunately, I need to sell many of my antiques to help pay my medical bills encurred while battling cancer. I have used this table as a sofa table as well as the perfect dining table suited for 6 people. It is the perfect width and height to be placed behind a sofa with decorative objects on it. It also works great for apartments because you can keep the sides folded down when not in use and it still looks very beautiful. This table measures: Open 71" L x 45"Wx 29"H Closed 71"L x 16"W x 29"H 6 Square legs Hinged Top The legs are simple square legs. The wood is Mahogany. ... moreBut is not burgundy in color. It is beautiful patina of light/ medium browns. Condition: excellent! It has normal wear and tear for a table that was made around 1750. To my knowledge. It has not been refinished in the last 40 years. You can tell from the photos that there are some stains and drips that have occurred over 260 years. I think that every single mark on it shows a beautifully aged and used table. Nothing looks abnormal and it has a lot of character! A wake table was used in traditional Irish wakes. The body of the deceased was laid out upon. Or sometimes under the table, with the mourners surrounding it, either seated or standing or both. The idea was to protect the body from being snatched by evil spirits. After the service, the sides were unfolded and food& beverages surrounded the casket. The celebration of life then began! I live in San Francisco and the table can be picked up if you are local. If you want to ship it. You can arrange it yourself with a local furniture shipper. I will make myself available for pick up. If ypu are a serious buyer and want to see it, please contact me. If you want additional photos please ask.

ANTIQUE FEDERAL 18C/19C SOLID FLAME MAHOGANY TILT TOP TABLE~RARE~EXQUISITE~MINT
I am happy to offer a wonderful very old. Late 1700's, early 1800's, tilt top table made of solid flame mahogany. The top was made in the shape of a tortoise shell(this was done in England when being brought to the colonies) and was originally adopted from the shipping lane to the islands. I seen these tables in Barbados 24 years ago. It is the first time I found one here in the northeast. The estate I received it from was from a fine collector that traveled worldwide buying their furnishings. FIRST. The table is in excellent condition with no major. Nor could I see minor.repairs. The lovely column is handcarved as well as the padded feet. It is all solid mahogany. The table top is amazingly beautiful, being made of solid flame mahogany, no veneers and of one board. The galley edge is handcarved as well and"PEGGED" construction ... moreto the ornate edge. See the pictures. The back has the original early latch and lock setup. Nothing has been added or subtracted from this table. The design in the table is extrodinary and beautiful. Good and sturdy, this table can be used and enjoyed to its max. The table measures when tilted open. 43 1/2" high. When in use and locked, it measures 28 1/2" from the floor and the top from north to south and east to west is a true 28 3/4" each way. Fine craftsmen carved the acanthus leaves and delightful ornate tripod with the true pad feet giving it a good square solid fit to the floor, making it safe and not tipsy. The weight of the table is also a great factor. This table is not of flimsy lesser light woods and again, it makes a suitable table for many years of good use. Please email any questions. Happy to oblige. Shipping costs varie according to your area. I have FREE shipping for Long Island in Suffolk and Nassau counties and very reasonable costs tristate(not too far north) and some New England states. YOU MUST ASK. I think you might find a very fair and economic as well as safe shipping method. I also use Antique Transport. Who is again, fair priced,
LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY NY STATE SHERATON PERIOD MAHOGANY WORK TABLE
LATE 18TH CENTURY/EARLY 19TH CENTURY NEW YORK SHERATON PERIOD MAHOGANY WORK TABLE With our compliments we are pleased to offer you this sweet clean late 18th to early 19th century period New York Sheraton period two drawer work table. This is a great work table and reasonably priced bargain for entry level collectors not ready yet for the hefty prices of more significant work tables. It is executed in a boldly grained crotched mahogany. Cherry and sap woods with great grain accents. This piece has some typical old but stable seasoning cracks on its top and reverse panels otherwise, and we make no apology or excuses for this(its a very typical issue with wide plank old growth furniture planks) It stands on four squared off legs with intricate turnings. It is 21 1/2" long, 17 1/2" wide and 29" tall. RECENT NEGATIVE FEEDBACK NOTICE* ... moreWe knew this was an eventuality as seller’s operating at the level we are. Seller’s have very few rights on the eBay sales platform except to pay thousands in fees each month& tolerate it. Nevertheless this still remains one of the safest ways there is for both buyers and sellers to interact. We have been recently victimized by an extortionist and will not dignify his remarks. We can only dispute this situation with the following: If we paid this person several thousand dollars he would remove his negative feedback and this person is required to register with the police in any community he may reside in. We are not strangers to many of you. We are deeply disturbed over this sad event& there isn’t much else we can do about it until we can obtain some judicial relief. Thank you for your understanding. English Chippendale Antique Game Table, c. 19th Century w/ Marlboro & Serpentine
English Chippendale Style Mahogany Game Table Composed mostly of 18th Century Elements. Probably c. late 19th Century Item# 130009GDJ23 This is a beautiful antique English Chippendale Style game table. In our assessment crafted during the late 19th Century out of parts of an earlier table- the result is a piece that closely resembles a period game table, with entirely hand chiseled and oxidized framing and structure, while lacking the authenticity and historical value of such a piece. These forms should be looked upon as a hand crafted reproduction, the old elements disregarded and the form judged on aesthetic qualities alone. As such, it is a very attractive little table, the solid mahogany top with a soft reverse serpentine that is mirrored in the apron. The apron along the front and sides follows the form of the top, the underside with ... morewonderful scrolling that flows directly into the well molded Marlborough legs. The back leg swings back as a support for the flip top, this revealing on the top an old faded leather surface for playing cards; at the same time, by opening the back leg a hidden drawer is revealed. This drawer retains an old yellowed note, supposedly bearing provenance of belonging to the author's great-grandfather- names are illegible to us. Not a form for serious collectors or those seeking any historical significance in their works. It is a decorative form that is very well crafted and is absolutely gorgeous. A period and untouched form of this table would cost somewhere close to the five-figure mark, the legs of particular attractive form and the veneers absolutely brilliant. As such, this table remains a very affordable selection that will greatly enhance whatever room it becomes a part of. Measurements: open] 33 3/4" deep x 28" high x 34" wide; closed] 16 3/4" deep x 29" high x 34" wide Condition Report: Probably somewhat composed using old parts during the late 19th Century. Leather top has some fading. Significant cracking and repairs to the hinges. These p

American Queen Anne Antique Table Candle Stand, Cherry, prob. CT c. 1790-1810
American Queen Anne Cherry Candle Stand[Antique Side Table] Federal Period. Late 18th Century c. 1790-1810 Item# 130010AQS26 This is an absolute treasure. A very fine American Queen Anne Candle Stand crafted during the late 18th Century in the New England States- almost certainly Connecticut. The form is simple but excellent, the octagonal top in two boards of solid cherry with a recessed molded edge framing the smooth and undistracted grains of the top. The underside edge of the top is chamfered to lighten and even sharpen the shape of the top against the eye. Highly successful, the table floats with exacting proportions and absolutely no excess. Supported over a precisely turned pedestal, this swells only softly at the middle in a turned ring, based and crested by a multitude of rings before it tenons into the solid cherry cleat under the ... moretable top. The cleat too is bevelled along the edges and affixed to the top with a set of original and untouched hand filed steel screws. The table rests over three ogival legs, each tenoned into the base with a small dovetail and capped with an original tri-form bracket with untouched original screws still holding it firmly in place; the legs snake along in a smooth taper in plain toes, two of these repaired due to weakness inherent in the design. A neat little row of chip-carved impressions circle the base between each leg. With a dry and highly attractive surface under old layers of wax, the patina is finely preserved and quite nice. Pleasing in every way. This handsome table is a very fine acquisition for any serious collector of American furniture- remaining in nearly untouched condition, it will be cherished in your collection for a lifetime. Measurements: 17 1/2" along grain. 18" wide against grain, 28 1/8" high; 21" between toes Condition Report: Two feet repaired. Coupled with repairs to base behind feet(plugged screws) Original bracket, all screws original- hardware and cleat are untouched. Dry surface throughout with some traces of white paint in

English Antique George III FADED ROSEWOOD Pedestal Dining Table
A fine late Georgian Breakfast table, In faded rosewood inlaid with satinwood. Boxwood& bubinga, in a desirable oval form, with a well proportioned pedestal. Graceful upswept saber legs inlaid with satinwood paterae& stringing terminating in the original brass claw casters. 54 in long. 40 1/2 in wide, 28 1/2 in high. With minor veneer repairs. And an old restored finish. c. 1800. Provenance: Purchased from Mallett. London by the Chef Boyardi family in 1985 according to Auction records when the table was purchased. Faded Rosewood is only achievable through sun fading overall which can take about 10 years. If the existing finish is stripped. The wood would become dark and figured like every other 1000. table one sees. A table of this calibre is only sold by premier London dealers. This is not a bleached finish- that effect is different ... moreand wood figure is lost- Rosewood does not bleach out as quickly as other woods as well. As for comperables- I'd encourage a review of similar tables on any of the auction sites or those for sale at FirstDibs to see that ones like this are being offered for as much as $68.000. Antique Georgian Mid 18th Century Brass Inlaid Mahogany Tripod Table
A very good quality mid 18th century tilt top tripod table. With a one piece top, wrythen turned column, and brass inlaid feet. There are plenty of Georgian tripod tables that loosely fall into the category of mid range furniture, this one is much better than most. If anyone is seriously looking for a tilt top table this one is worth consideration. It is made from very good Cuban or Spanish mahogany, the top is cut from one plank. It measures 31 inches across and is still probably as flat as when it was finished, with good figure and in virtually unmarked condition. Like most furniture it has no makers mark, the feet are inlaid with brass, a nice bit of added detail. The only maker I know that inlaid brass into tables like this is Frederick Hintz, maybe whoever made this had seen his work. Overall height is aprox. 28 inches, general condition ... moreis very good, the legs and the base are solid, there has been some repair here. There is a very old metal plate to one foot, see images) I suspect one of the legs got broken, but the repair is good. The block and catch are good, there are some old worm flight holes here, this has been treated just to make sure. The finish is just wax, I have not French polished it. This is for collection only from the Diss area of Suffolk. IP22 2PS or arrange collection by carrier. I will get it ready for transport.
