It is truly a nice period untouched table. It has a ribbon mahogany top, round corner drop leaves, heavy bold column four legged base, solid cast brass Duncan Phyfe claw foot and built in castors. I normally don’t buy period furniture like this, but I was very impressed by how untouched this piece was. The overall size is 40.5 inches long, 24 inches wide when the leaves are closed, 15 inches wide on each leaf, 52 inches long when the leaves are flipped up. The finish is very nice for being 180 years old. It does show normal nicks, dings and scratches, but I believe it would rub out nicely to make a good presentation.

It is in excellent condition and structurally sound with a nice old but clean finish. The table top is replaced with an old walnut wood. One of the drop leaves has a small piece missing on the edge where it joins the middle top. Naturally is from England and is in very nice condition for usage and its age. There is No veneer on this table.totally solid oak throughout including its two drop sides. The table is from a friend of a family who has passed on and had nothing but excellent antiques and owns an 18c homestead. The table is authentic and I guarantee it. It is sturdy and very good looking. The top has some old stains on it and little imperfections consistant with its age and character. However I left it alone and would not have anything sanded out or stripped. It is minimal and adds to its beauty. The top and the whole table have wonderful patina. I am a purist and appreciate the age and construction of this piece. The legs swing ... moreout to accomodate two leaves. The English pad foot is handcarved and very nice. Measuremnts: The table closed is not big. Which is why it is so nice to have behind a sofa or on a wall; and then.when folks come over, it opens to a truly nice table and 6 can fit to it having a bite to eat. It measures completely opened 45 3/4" long by 35 3/4" wide, and if you just had a friend over or wanted to serve some appetizers, you could open only one leaf and have plenty of room. It measures 27 7/8" from the floor making it very comfortable to eat with any chair under it. See the pictures of my old chair near it. Closed: The table top closed is 16" deep and 35 3/4" long. The pad foot is a good size and the table is NOT wobbly. NO CRACKS, NO BREAKS AND I SEE NO REPAIRS.GOOD AND SOLID. AGE: I believe this table is quite old. Late 1700s into early 1800s. See the wonderful finger joints in its original swing for the pad foot to extend leaf. See also the peg or rounded wood nails. There is NO post beatle rot! Pembroke Dropleaf Hepplewhite 1790 Antique Tea or Lamp Table. An authentic"Pembroke" or dropleaf table from about 1790. Was meant to hold a tray of afternoon tea, and could be used as a lamp table. Hand crafted of solid mahogany. The top is a single wide plank with a shrinkage separation from age down the middle. The fine old finish has warm antique patina, and has been waxed and polished. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its glowing patina. Brasses appear original on this furniture from England during the"Hepplewhite" or Georgian period. The hand dovetailed drawer has solid oak sides. Carved wooden hinges support the dropleaves on this strong and durable table. Rare Early Federal Northern New England Tiger Maple Dropleaf Harvest Table 1790s Maine or New Hampshire or Vermont States Circa 1790-1810. View the entire photo slideshow here: via Flickr) We are pleased to present a great early federal Maine/Vermont/New Hampshire Tiger Maple Dropleaf Harvest Table. this table is superb in every aspect. Great patina, bold tigering to the grain, wonderfully formed birch tapered legs, dovetailed frame. Pegged construction for the legas to the base, the legs are dovetailed into the frame. the side rails are rosehead nailed onto the sides of the frame. The table is a swing leg, with hand cut wood pinned hinges for the legs. all are fully functioning, and still completely 100% serviceable. Condition: The finish on the top is for the most part the original surface. And polished under a coat of wax. The Leaves are ... morestill working on the original hand wrought iron hinges. one of the leaves is in original condition. the other one not so much. our best gues is at one point in its relatively recent life, the leaf must have been warped, as often as Tiger Maple does over the years. somebody took the leaf off, the cut it into strips, and reglued them back, and then they replaned it. it is slightly thiner and shorter than the original leaf. I was highly dissapointed when i first discovered this. The top and the 2 leaves have matching grain, they all came from the same tree, so i am kinda ok with the repair, over the leaf being replaced all together. NONETHELESS this table is still a very rare find! one would have to drive a long distance to find another. we are 100% certain that the top and leaves are original to the base. As the scribe marks on the underside of the top line up with the base. we removed the screws holding the top onto the base, and verified this. the height on the base is good. And uncut to the best of our knowledge. Woods: Tiger Maple Top. Leaves, and skirt end tablets. Nice English George III Mahogany Hepplewhite Dropleaf Pembroke Table ca. 1780 English circa 1780-1800 Very nice Pembroke table. Nicely figured mahogany top and leaves. Ebony inlay banding around the skirt in the front and back. One pull out drawer with oak secondary woods. And finely dovetailed construction. To the best of our belief, it retains the original wallpaper drawer lining. Mahogany tapered legs resting on brass casters. Great state of preservation! Nearly original condition. As far as we can tell. There has been no restoration work do e on this table. There is a bit of veneer patching on the drawer, but nothing major. There is some veneer bubbling on the back panel of the skirt, not loose. Minor dings and wear& use marks throughout. 4 small shrinkage splits in the top. None are loose, but they are there.
