It features three levels of mahogany shelves, each shelf with a rim lathe turned of the same board. A three piece turned pedestal separates each tier, allowing the two lower shelves to turn freely. Three cabriole legs join the pedestal base with large dovetails beneath a wrought iron three-arm bracket with hand made screws locking the bracket permanently in place- the bracket and underside look entirely undisturbed with well over two ... morehundred years supporting this table. Each leg terminates in round pad feet over original brass casters, each undisturbed with original handmade screws locking each in place. This is a stunning find for that unusual corner space. Or beside a formal sofa holding a number of special collectables. American Federal Mid-Atlantic Cherry Candlestand Antique Side Table c. 1790-1810
American Federal Period Cherry Antique Candle Stand(Side Table) Resting over"Spider" form legs. Mid-Atlantic States, c. 1790-1810 Item# 130001WLG27(note. The chair, book and candlestick are not part of this listing- they are pictured only to give visual dimensions and proportions) This is a simply gorgeous American Federal Cherry Candle Stand crafted of solid Cherry in the Mid-Atlantic states. C. 1790-1810. It is a very handsome piece, the top crafted from a single solid board of cherry with shapely scalloped corners and rectangular form. The back of the top is relatively undisturbed, every single screw appearing to be fully original and in it's original hole- they were likely removed when it was refinished, as there is not evidence of finish buildup along the rails, but each was very carefully restored to it's original ... morespace and remain firm and strong. Despite shrinking over the years, the table still functions without flaw, lifting and latching smoothly and providing a sturdy and level surface. The shaft is shaped with wonderful detail. Starting at the bottom in a succession of swelling and receding rings under the urn-form baluster from which sprouts the thin turned pillar lifting the square solid cherry head. The triform"Spider" legs flow out from the base, where they join with a thick dovetail, to terminate in plain square feet. The underside of the shaft reveals the rough unfinished joinery, clean and without evidence of nails or an absent bracket- as a result of not being secured with a triform bracket, the legs have broken out from the pedestal and have been restored at some point in the past. They remain in very sturdy condition as a result of the workmanship. An outstanding presentation. This work of art was designed to be flexible in any number of design scenarios in the home- as a fully functional antique side table or antique candle stand for beside the bed. Between two windows, beside an arm chair or tilted in the corner. This is a piece that can be utilized actively, cha
American New England Carved Cherry Tilt Candle Stand Candlestand Side Tea Table
American New England Carved Cherry Candlestand Side Table c. 1790-1810 Incredible carved pedestal with a"la croix pattée" repeating motif Sweeping legs with raised acanthus carvings over ball feet Item# 120011EWQ24 This is a remarkable candle stand table. Crafted in the New England states of early America, probably during the last years of the 18th Century, possibly as late as 1810. The shapely rectangular form top is rounded and notched at each corner, giving it a stilted flow that aligns with the overall appeal of the table. Rotating smoothly on a doweled mechanism, the table tilts from a fully functional tea table or side table to be a space conscious presentation piece, revealing the full beauty of the solid plank cherry top while bringing visual interest to a corner of the room. The pedestal is an absolute work of art. ... moreA practice in patience from a very steady and skilled hand. It is crafted with long flawless rows of a repeating" la croix pattée" motif. Carved deeply and perfectly along the length of the turned shaft. The Cross pattée, also referred to as the cross formée, literally translated from the French"la croix pattée" as"The Footed Cross" is primarily associated as a Christian symbol. Sometimes used by military organizations in Christian Nations, commonly associated with the Crusades and royalty of Britain, the symbol evokes the idea of a noble ideal. This is topped and footed by tight swirls of ring turnings. The legs have a wonderful swooping motion. Flowing smoothly from the base into ball turned little wooden feet, each fully original. Along the top of the entire leg is a smooth raised acanthus form carving. Each leg is locked into the pedestal using a hand forged tri-bracket with many original nails, all three joining together where the pedestal rounds with deep fluting. This is a stunning and quite unique table. Probably crafted by an artisan of low volume for a more rural market. The"mistake" of the top could suggest t

American Queen Anne Antique Candle Stand w/ Shaped Cherry Top, Late 18th Century
American Queen Anne Cherry Candle Stand New England States. C. Late 18th Century Item# 130008FDA12 This very cute American Queen Anne Antique Candle Stand is simply a treasure. Of quite petite dimensions. It is a piece that was crafted to be truly functional and enjoyable in a room without redefining the space. It was almost certainly made in the New England States during the last days of the 18th Century; crafted of solid cherry, the top is a beautiful solid plank shaped with oxbow corners and an ogee edge carved of the solid. The bottom is deeply oxidized, revealing variations in the surface with the unfinished hand-planing marks still clearly evident along the exposed surface. The pedestal tenons through a rectangular base, this affixed to the top with three hand filed steel screws set in chip carved wells. A simple turned pedestal emphasizes ... morethe graceful flow of the table, again without over-embellishment and in harmony with the choice of cherry and the soft curve of the snake legs. The legs tenon into the pedestal with small dovetails, the feet terminating in pointed shoes. A wonderful find for any period home where a small functional table is necessary for a living space. Perhaps beside the sofa or a fine Period chair, this is a piece you will cherish and enjoy regularly for a lifetime. Measurements: top] 16" x 15 1/2" 25 3/4" high Condition Report: Top has slight warp to it. Visible in the pictures. Dings, abrasions and burn marks throughout, all visible in the pictures; cracks in the pedestal and one old crack in a leg. Finish is replaced, probably 20th Century. One leg is repaired, possibly(though highly unlikely) a replacement- it has the same even preserved patina beneath the shellac as the other legs. Retains it's original screws, one absent. Please review all images in the slideshow for a full overview of condition.

American Queen Anne Antique Table Candle Stand, Cherry, prob. CT c. 1790-1810
American Queen Anne Cherry Candle Stand[Antique Side Table] Federal Period. Late 18th Century c. 1790-1810 Item# 130010AQS26 This is an absolute treasure. A very fine American Queen Anne Candle Stand crafted during the late 18th Century in the New England States- almost certainly Connecticut. The form is simple but excellent, the octagonal top in two boards of solid cherry with a recessed molded edge framing the smooth and undistracted grains of the top. The underside edge of the top is chamfered to lighten and even sharpen the shape of the top against the eye. Highly successful, the table floats with exacting proportions and absolutely no excess. Supported over a precisely turned pedestal, this swells only softly at the middle in a turned ring, based and crested by a multitude of rings before it tenons into the solid cherry cleat under the ... moretable top. The cleat too is bevelled along the edges and affixed to the top with a set of original and untouched hand filed steel screws. The table rests over three ogival legs, each tenoned into the base with a small dovetail and capped with an original tri-form bracket with untouched original screws still holding it firmly in place; the legs snake along in a smooth taper in plain toes, two of these repaired due to weakness inherent in the design. A neat little row of chip-carved impressions circle the base between each leg. With a dry and highly attractive surface under old layers of wax, the patina is finely preserved and quite nice. Pleasing in every way. This handsome table is a very fine acquisition for any serious collector of American furniture- remaining in nearly untouched condition, it will be cherished in your collection for a lifetime. Measurements: 17 1/2" along grain. 18" wide against grain, 28 1/8" high; 21" between toes Condition Report: Two feet repaired. Coupled with repairs to base behind feet(plugged screws) Original bracket, all screws original- hardware and cleat are untouched. Dry surface throughout with some traces of white paint in

Antique Cherry Wood Tables Hand Carved in the late 1700's
These two hand-carved Cherry Wood tables have been in my family since George Washington was President. They have been handed down from generation to generation and I have 2 of the 3 table set. Approximately 60-70 years ago. The third table was given to a distant relative and we have since lost contact with. The photo display both tables pushed together to make a larger banquet table. These two drop leaf tables have the additional swing leg making for a more stable. Larger table. Also note that the rope twist(or spiral turnings) are very tight and masterfully done. This table has large drop leaves, and the cherry leaves, which, of course are solid, are quite thick and heavy.

American Queen Anne Cherry Drop Leaf Table w/ Trifid Feet c. 1760, Replaced Top
CHEST OF DRAWERS ANTIQUE CHAIRS TABLES BRONZE SCULPTURES FINE PAINTINGS SCHOOL OF ORIGIN SUBJECT LAMPS. LIGHTING DELAWARE RIVER VALLEY QUEEN ANNE DROP LEAF TABLE OVER TRIFID FEET Mid 18th Century. Top replaced Item# 1403JED22PP This table boasts an unusual and primitive form of the Queen Anne trifid foot. The shape a subtle transition between the pad foot typical to this period, though enhanced with some deep fluting that eventually developed more fully into a robust trifid. The top was replaced at some point in the last hundred years or so, the solid and broad planks of cherry remaining a quite nice and well patinated surface under a waxed later finish. The top is affixed to the frame with wooden pegs driven through the top into the frame. The frame is crafted typical to the region. The gating leg attaching to the gating frame with a pair ... moreof wooden pins locking in the tenon-mortise joint; the white pine frame is nailed to the gating frame with even rows of rose head nails, dovetailed on both sides into the scroll cut apron. The whole rests over softly cabriole legs. While not an ideal selection for the purist collector. In light of the top being replaced, the feet make it a very endearing and interesting example for anyone passionate about American antiques, particularly if you are looking for a piece that can be actively enjoyed in the home without worrying about someone damaging a pure and perfect piece. Measurements: 45" wide x 17 3/8" deep(closed) x 28 3/8" high; both leaves are 16 1/8" deep. Making the total span when opened approximately 49 3/4" x 45" Condition Report: Top replaced. Minor dings and abrasions throughout with wear isolated mainly to the feet. These heavily chipped and worn, but in a rather delightful manner. One hinge on the top is loose and missing one screw- this is visible in the"gap" you see in the images with the drop leaf facing. Table is very sturdy and strong with an attractive refinish and nice patination of surfaces throughout. Please review

The construction is pegged mortise-and-tenon, with the only original nails being in the drawer. It shows a remnant of an old wax finish. 18th c or centennial? cherry candlestand, new england, pegged construction
interesting new england cherry candle stand. Interesting being the construction method and the proportions. the joints appear to be mortised with pegs running through, at the top t support and, at a 45 degree angle, at the legs. i have not seen this before, usually i see a dovetail joint at the bottom, and the top t is usually mortised with a key. the proportions are a bit different also, the center shaft is longer than usual, and the legs a bit smaller than usual. stand has had a tough life, glue has been added to the joints, maybe they got a bit loose over the years? and the top has been reset many times, please see photos. measures 26 1/2" tall, shaft measures 21" long, and 2 5/8" in diameter at bottom. 2 board top measures 14 1/4" by 13 5/8" is 3/8" thick, and has been champhored at a later date at the end ... moregrains, but still retains hand planing marks on rest of underside. vase turning is chipped in one spot, but otherwise in good shape with minimal cracking on it and the shaft. top is water stained, has a white mark, and 3 small holes at center, from screws? can't really tell. feet are traditional, with pads, in fairly good shape, but are worn, please see photos. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask, i will do my best. thanx for looking and good luck.

18TH CENTURY QUEEN ANNE CHERRY TILT TOP CANDLE STAND WITH DIAMOND SHAPED TOP
RARE EXCEPTIONALLY FINE 18TH CENTURY QUEEN ANNE PERIOD CHERRY SNAKE LEGGED TILT TOP CANDLESTAND Bay Colony Antiques takes the utmost pleasure in offering you this stunning Snake Leg Queen Anne period 18th Century New Hampshire Diamond shaped top Cherry Tilt Top Candlestand. We aggressively hunt fine period Candlestands around the Northeastern US and end up with just a select few. Most we encounter have some type of condition issues. Major restorations or some faked up paint finish. We take deep satisfaction in our offering our clients the most wonderfully pure American period furniture. This first half of the 18th Century Queen Anne Period Candlestand has a rare Diamond formed top with an edged molding, crab spring loaded lock& original catch, pure tilter arms with everything right down to the original period screws. This specimen possesses ... moreone of the very best vassal turned pedestals with graduated rings we have ever encountered. The gracefully flowing snake legs terminate into smartly defined pad feet. It is in a totally untouched glowing original first finish with first surface. The base of its pedestal is finely channeled which the three legs lock into with no later added metal support spiders. The latter is not always the make or break on a period Candlestand. Often Candlestand& Tea Table makers installed them originally but most often a later restoration when seasoning issues caused the legs to loosen. We like to see them without these present as here. The top is 25" long, 22" wide and it stands 28 1/2" tall. PLEASE READ WELCOME TO BAY COLONY ANTIQUES Bay Colony Antiques is a dedicated group of New England antique dealers from Springfield. American Queen Anne Cherry Antique Tilting Tea Table, Pennsylvania c. 1770
AMERICAN QUEEN ANNE CHERRY TILTING BIRDCAGE TEA TABLE Possibly Chester County. C. 1770 Item# 501GKR17P This fine American Queen Anne tilting tea table is probably a work of Chester or a nearby county. The table is preserved in outstanding condition. The restorations completed very competently and with great respect for the originality of the work. Typical of the smaller cherry planks, the upper third of the top probably started to separate from the lower two-thirds from shrinking along the grains at one point, which was healed by routing the back and inserting a splice to join the two leaves from the back. Often this is healed with a line of dovetails, so this is a somewhat imaginative and quite effective mechanism. The gap is completely healed and has resolved any bowing that may have been in the planks. Behind the top, the original cleats ... moreare affixed to the top with a series of screws set in the original wells; battens are spliced on either outer edge of the cleats to also help with what was probably a slight bow in the wood. Tenons projecting from the birdcage into the cleats allow the top to tilt easily, locking in place with it's original brass clasp and catch, both unmoved from their original positions. The birdcage is a work of sheer beauty, the tiny swollen baluster pedestals making up the corners in nearly exact replication of the larger pedestal of the table- even down to the smallest detail of the scratched beading around the midriff of the swell. These tenon through the top of the birdcage and are locked in place with split-wedges. A half-moon wedge slides through the turned collar to lock the birdcage into the void of the pedestal; typical of Chester County tables, the wedge and placement of the birdcage pillars is such that the table can easily rotate a full three-hundred and sixty degrees without touching the wedge or being in anyway inhibited. The pedestal is a wonderfully turned from a thick block of cherry, the recesses showing the alligatored and dirty cloudiness of the retained early finis
18TH - EARLY 19TH CENTURY EARLY AMERICAN CHERRY DROP LEAF BREAKFAST SOFA TABLE
This is a fantastic looking antique drop leaf breakfast/ dining table. It appears to be from the late 18th- early 19th century. The wood is phenomenal. It has a fine old patina and looks amazing. The top is one solid piece of wood as are the two leaves. There is some splitting from age on the top but overall it looks amazing. It measures 29" wide when closed x 57" when leaves are open. It also measures 30" tall and 39" long. I have it listed as local pick up only as I do not have shipper offhand that I can recommend for something this large. If you have a shipper I will happily work with you on this. It may be able to be shipped via Greyhound too but please contact me first on this option. Thank you and have a great day.
