IF YOU WANT TO SEE ANY FURTHER IMAGES PLEASE JUST ASK. This superb antique tray-topped tripod table dates from approx. 1780 and is a country piece. It is constructed from what we believe to be solid mahogany and walnut. Although please note that we are not 100% sure of the wood types. The table has an oval tray top, so-called because of the rail around the edge(please note that top does not remove) This rail was constructed from one continuous piece of thin wood, and is joined together at one side with a small metal bracket that is original to the piece. The top can be tilted. The table is supported on a tripod base with a turned central column with ring turnings. Condition: Overall ... morethis handsome piece is in good usuable condition. With some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing, scratching and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some signs of restoration and repair of various ages. The rail around the top has been repaired in one area. The supports underneath the top have been replaced at some point, and the catch for the top is also a more modern replacement. We believe the top of the central column may have had some work done at some point. One of the legs is slightly twisted. The table is solid and usuable but there is some slight movement in the joints. There are some signs of old woodworm to the base- this is not active, but has been retreated as a precaution.
