And features elaborate foliate carved designs and marble top. Its condition is very good, with wear and prior restorations consistent with age and use. Marble top may be later, and has abrasions, some small losses and restorations. The stretcher has some losses, cracks and restored cracks and breaks as evidenced by visible glue residue on underside. Some small areas have been infilled. Feet appear to have been retipped and the legs blocked. Measures: 32 H x 63 W x 29 H in; 81 x 160 x 74 cm. FRENCH Antique French Game Table is a wonderful Nightstand or Side Table Marquetry Mixed Wood Inlaid Game Table I believe this is Louis XV or 19thc Louis Philippe Period I am selling a beautiful Antique Nightstand/ Side Table/ Game Table with a Chess or Checker board on top and Backgammon inside. There are numerous original wooden pieces included. I'm afraid I don't know much about this table and I inherited it about 20 years ago. It has wonderful proportions. I am not sure what the wood is. It may be fruitwood? 18th Century Louis XV Country French Cherry Work Table Untouched
This is a truly wonderful example of an untouched 18th Century French Louis XV work table. The wood is Cherry. The construction is pegged mortise-and-tenon, with the only original nails being in the drawer. It shows a remnant of an old wax finish. I truly do not believe this piece has been finished or waxed in many, many years. The tray top, which is pegged to the base, shows slight warping. I have many more photos of this table. This Louis XV pier table has a mottled pink. Ochre and grey serpentine marble top above a shell and scroll-carved frieze on shell and scroll-carved cabriole legs with shaped X-form stretchers. Louis XV( 1710– 1774) was a monarch of the House of Bourbon who ruled as King of France and Navarre from 1 September 1715 until his death. He succeeded his great-grandfather Louis XIV at the age of five. Until he reached maturity in 1723. His kingdom was ruled by Philippe II, Duke of Orléans, his first cousin twice removed, as Regent of France.
