Each section of two solid golden oak boards covered with a wonderful wax finish, the leaves lifting to flush on ruled joints. The leaves have original 18th century hand forged hinges, though we suspect at least one of the leaves is replaced(see notes below in condition) The frame is pinned tenon-mortise construction over intensely ring-turned legs, each stretched permanently by a box-form stretcher, from which the gating leg on either side swings freely on a through-dowel peg. The legs swing very easily and smoothly to support the leaves, each with the correlating scrape marks underneath. William and Mary Period Oval Gate Leg Breakfast Table Late 18th Century. England; one leaf replaced, feet probably replaced. Item# 120008SMT11 This is a table of unusual form with a simply gorgeous oval oak top. Each section of two solid golden oak boards covered with a wonderful wax finish, the leaves lifting to flush on ruled joints. The leaves have original 18th century hand forged hinges, though we suspect at least one of the leaves is replaced(see notes below in condition) The frame is pinned tenon-mortise construction over intensely ring-turned legs, each stretched permanently by a box-form stretcher, from which the gating leg on either side swings freely on a through-dowel peg. The legs swing very easily and smoothly to support the leaves, each with the correlating scrape marks underneath. It is an excellent piece to match any Colonial ... moreinspired decor. CHEST OF DRAWERS ANTIQUE CHAIRS TABLES BRONZE SCULPTURES FINE PAINTINGS SCHOOL OF ORIGIN SUBJECT LAMPS. LIGHTING AMERICAN FEDERAL MAHOGANY BREAKFAST TABLE Mid Atlantic States. Probably Maryland c. 1790-1800 Item# 100009RQI12 The caramelized warmth of the mahogany in this breakfast table make it particularly eye-catching. The craftsman was careful in his selection of mahogany for the top of the table. This almost equally balanced between shimmering striations of grains and deep swirling and ribbing exhibited in a single leaf and into the middle board. Each plank is a single solid board, unembellished by inlay or anything that would distract from the natural beauty of each leaf. The corners are characterized by deep ovolu insets, these side leaves lifted over small"wings" with carved finger holds on the ends, pivoting from the frame ... moreon internal dowels. The frame is austere in it's rectangular profile, the single drawer sliding from the front with it's original stamped brass and ring hardware. The bottom panel of the drawer is chamfered along the edges and set in grooves on the sides and front with it's grain running parallel to the front, flush nailed with three square iron nails along the back edge and reinforced with square poplar glue blocks. The leaves retain their original iron hinges, each untouched and retaining their hand cut steel screws. A thin stringer inlay lines the edge of the frame over plain tapered legs. A very attractive example for collectors of American Federal furnishings. Preserved in exceptional condition, this is a fine and affordable acquisition. Materials: Mahogany top. An 18th century round tea table in mahogany. It measures approximately 28-1/8" tall and the top measures approximately 32" in diameter. We believe it is American and we do not know the maker. There is overall normal surface wear commensurate with age and use. With some dings and scratches found commonly on antique furniture. The surface is refinished and this table would have originally been a tilt top table- it has been modified so that it stays upright permanently, so it may not be folded up. We think the two wooden supports adhered to the bottom of the surface have been replaced- there would have been a birdcage or likewise mechanism for the tilt top, so the table has presumably also been lowered(made shorter) in the process. 18TH - EARLY 19TH CENTURY EARLY AMERICAN CHERRY DROP LEAF BREAKFAST SOFA TABLE
This is a fantastic looking antique drop leaf breakfast/ dining table. It appears to be from the late 18th- early 19th century. The wood is phenomenal. It has a fine old patina and looks amazing. The top is one solid piece of wood as are the two leaves. There is some splitting from age on the top but overall it looks amazing. It measures 29" wide when closed x 57" when leaves are open. It also measures 30" tall and 39" long. I have it listed as local pick up only as I do not have shipper offhand that I can recommend for something this large. If you have a shipper I will happily work with you on this. It may be able to be shipped via Greyhound too but please contact me first on this option. Thank you and have a great day.
