American Queen Anne Birdcage Tilt Top Side Table, Connecticut, Late 18th Century
American Queen Anne Tilting Tea Table(Antique Side Table or Candlestand) Connecticut Connecticut River Valley. Late 18th Century Plain dish-molded top over birdcage support tenoned over a compressed-ball pillar terminating in triform snake feet Item# 130002YRW19 This is a fine American Queen Anne Antique Tea Table crafted during the last quarter of the 18th Century. Probably in the Connecticut River Valley. Of wonderful form and proportions, this very attractive piece is pure and relatively undisturbed, the finish being the only change over the last two centuries. Characterized by simplicity and a compression of lines, the design carefully balances the visual weight of the spherical top and oversized birdcage by squeezing the baluster as close to the legs as possible, perfectly dividing the mass of the table away from the midriff. The top ... moreis a work of art. Crafted of two solid Cherry boards joined nearly seamlessly, it was lathe-turned patiently and with great risk to the craftsman to produce a raised molded edge of the solid. The cleats are affixed to the underside of the top with symmetrically spaced original and undisturbed screws, these flanking the birdcage box structure that allows the top to spin freely. The birdcage is crafted with complex and possibly unusual construction, four baluster turned pedestals joined into the square(unidentified, possibly pine) softwood top and through the cherry bottom, the latter tenons wedged with splints for a pressured joint. Four iron bars penetrate at an angle down through the top and are twisted under the bottom, giving incredible strength and permanence to this delicate structure. An original clasp on the underside of the top still perfectly grasps the latch on the birdcage, both undisturbed with original screws still securing each(one later screw added to the clasp due to a loss at one corner) The solid cherry pedestal joins through the birdcage. Tapering as it penetrates the structure and is secured in a hollow in the top of the structure, joined with a wedged

Rare Antique Folk Art Marquetry Inlaid Tilt Top Table
Offered for your consideration is this Early Folk Art Inlaid Circular Tilt-Top Tripod Table. This table came out of a very wealthy early estate. Who said the table was in their family for several generations. The top of the table has a scalloped edge with a design carved into it. The table has an outstanding detailed inlay on top, consisting of goats and some sort of flowing heart design. We are not sure what wood the piece is made of. It appears to be a birdseye maple veneer top with inlaid marquetry and a dark walnut base. The top is supported by a fluted and carved pedestal base with carved feet that resemble a twisted root design characteristic of Black Forest. The size and shape of this table makes this piece able to fit anywhere! The top measures approximately 20 1/2" in diameter and the table measures 29" tall. Definitely ... morean heirloom quality table that would make a fantastic addition to any home. I will do my best to describe the condition. The boards that fasten on to the bottom of the top appear to be crudely cut on an angle for some reason, we have taken closeups pictures that should tell the story. There is a few small spots on the top where the inlay is missing. Also, the shiney finish shows wear and loss on top of the table and could use a refinish job if that is a concern. However, it still displays well, having a nice antique, folky look to it. The tilt mechanism amounts to a simple board that moves forward and backward allowing the table to tilt. This is one of the nicest early Folk Art tables I have ever seen, a must for the serious collector. This table is being offered AS IS, if you need any additional photos please ASK BEFORE BIDDING. PLEASE LOOK OVER ALL THE PICTURES AND EMAIL WITH ALL QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING OR BUYING. Thanks so much for taking the time to look and be sure to check out our EBAY STORE. Tiquehunter. Here at Tiquehunter Antiques we buy many estates and our policy is to offer the items in as found condition. Please remember that what we have up for sale are antiques

American Maple 18th Century Tilt Top Table 1750-1790
What a great looking table we have here. We are estimating between 1750- 1790 and we think it's on the earlier end of that due to the blacksmith construction of the catch(latch) Iron leg tie, and handforged nails. There has been obvious repairs to the legs and it appears that the feet have been shortend. Also seems to have been painted red at one point and black at someother time. This would lead us to believe it's not the original finish.however it looks pretty close to original. Measures 31.75" round and 27.5" high. We can ship this item at the new owners expense or local pick up is always available. Please ask questions or provide any insight you might have. FINE ANTIQUE ENGLISH GEORGE III MAHOGANY WINE TABLE TILT TOP ON TRIPOD BASE
This is a listing for a very elegant fine antique English George III mahogany wine table. To be fully appreciated this piece of furniture must be put in its historical context. The Georgian(1714 to 1837) style embraces a century under the reign of three Georges and is often divided into the Palladian early and late Georgian periods. The style was partly a reaction to baroque which George I loathed. As the century progressed. The style became lighter in terms of colours and decoration. The age of mahogany dominated much of the middle part of the 18th century. The beginning of this period saw a sudden simplification of style into less ornamental and more elegant aesthetic. Emphasis was henceforth on simple, flowing lines like for example the cabriole leg. This fine example of wine table belongs to this period showing the full character of the ... moreharmony and symmetry of this delicate piece of furniture. Georgian furniture survived in numbers due to the quality of the craftmanship and timbers used. This table has mellowed with age and matured with beauty and will sit happily in the smallest home and largest mansions and will be admired by all. Buying a piece of antique is for you to enjoy and it is a good investment. The table shows a beautiful and warm mahogany revived by a recent restoration to ensure its attractiveness lasts for generations. The top is released to tilt open by a very attractive and popular- to the period. Catch which is still in full working order. The slender table is supported by a turned column and tripod base terminating onto spade feet. This item dates back to circa 1800 Dimensions: H: 69 cm(27 inches) Diameter 83.5 cm(33.5 inches) Condition report: Visually this is a stunning piece with its attractive warm mahogany and slender lines. This is an antique piece about 200 years of old and therefore even though it has been restored some signs of use and age are visible. Please review carefully the photographs of this lovely table. We can deliver worlwide. Please contact us to receive our highly

Rare Late 18th Century Georgian Chippendale Octofoil Tilt Top Birdcage Tea Table
Click for a slideshow of detailed pictures! Rare Georgian Chippendale Mahogany Tilting Tea Table England. Late 18th Century Octofoil top carved with fruit& foliage over fluted pedestal. Cabriole legs with acanthus carved knees terminating in ball and claw feet. Item# 120109PTE08 This is a rather rare form. Carved in the manner of Frederick Hintz tables, though absent of any brass inlay noteworthy in his works. The top is octofoil in form, featuring eight shallow dish spaces circling a large central dish space. A table of this form would typically be used as a dinner table, not for tea due to the oversized nature of the dished valleys in the top. Formed from a single piece of mahogany, crafting something of this nature was exceedingly difficult and likewise exceedingly expensive in the 18th Century. A work of this nature would be found ... moreonly in the finest London homes. Evidence of how it was formed is still visible in the piece, as you carefully look at the centermost point of each circular form- note the scar where the craftsman anchored his lathe to shave the perfect circle with raised molding. Each dish space is flanked by fruit carvings, each unique and different from the next- note the incredible crispness of each fruit, the attention to even the smallest details leaving identification of each fruit relatively easy: cherries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, and plums. The table twists freely a full three-hundred and sixty degrees on the birdcage mechanism. Formed of four columns that through-taper the top and bottom, between which the shaft of the pillar comes through and is locked on with an angular through-wedge. This wedge is easily removed, allowing the entire top to lift off of the pedestal. The pedestal shaft is turned and tapers broader towards the bottom, deep stop-fluting around the entire shaft. Three cabriole legs dovetail into the center of the pedestal, exposed from beneath and actually formed such that no three-way bracket was necessary to lock the legs permanently in place. The kn

The table features a round dish top over a turned pedestal base with three cabriole legs ending in snake feet. It has a fine old finish with great color and patination. The base has an original finish and is gorgeous. The top an old refinish. The only problem I can see is a ring on the top. Please see photo close-up. The table is 28" high by 24" across. ca. 1760 Queen Anne Tilt Top Tripod Table Solid Mahogany.
This table is very clean and is made from solid mahogany. The legs are completely hand carved and the top of the table is hand cut. The craftsmanship that went into this piece is outstanding. It is from about 1760 and over time has developed pleasing wear. The condition is good overall. But there is a crack in one of the legs, but it does not affect the integrity and stability of the table. The tilt top works, and the lock is original, but has one of the screws replaced. The top of the table has been refinished, but it is an old refinish. It is completely ready for use in a home. If you have any questions please ask! Thanks!

ANTIQUE FEDERAL 18C/19C SOLID FLAME MAHOGANY TILT TOP TABLE~RARE~EXQUISITE~MINT
I am happy to offer a wonderful very old. Late 1700's, early 1800's, tilt top table made of solid flame mahogany. The top was made in the shape of a tortoise shell(this was done in England when being brought to the colonies) and was originally adopted from the shipping lane to the islands. I seen these tables in Barbados 24 years ago. It is the first time I found one here in the northeast. The estate I received it from was from a fine collector that traveled worldwide buying their furnishings. FIRST. The table is in excellent condition with no major. Nor could I see minor.repairs. The lovely column is handcarved as well as the padded feet. It is all solid mahogany. The table top is amazingly beautiful, being made of solid flame mahogany, no veneers and of one board. The galley edge is handcarved as well and"PEGGED" construction ... moreto the ornate edge. See the pictures. The back has the original early latch and lock setup. Nothing has been added or subtracted from this table. The design in the table is extrodinary and beautiful. Good and sturdy, this table can be used and enjoyed to its max. The table measures when tilted open. 43 1/2" high. When in use and locked, it measures 28 1/2" from the floor and the top from north to south and east to west is a true 28 3/4" each way. Fine craftsmen carved the acanthus leaves and delightful ornate tripod with the true pad feet giving it a good square solid fit to the floor, making it safe and not tipsy. The weight of the table is also a great factor. This table is not of flimsy lesser light woods and again, it makes a suitable table for many years of good use. Please email any questions. Happy to oblige. Shipping costs varie according to your area. I have FREE shipping for Long Island in Suffolk and Nassau counties and very reasonable costs tristate(not too far north) and some New England states. YOU MUST ASK. I think you might find a very fair and economic as well as safe shipping method. I also use Antique Transport. Who is again, fair priced,

Antique New England Scalloped Tilt Top Tea Table
This Tilt Top table has been in my family for over 250 years- we no longer have space for it and. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit in with our new South West home's decor. We brought it from Maine to New Mexico hoping we could use it but it just doesn't fit and none of the family has interest in it. We would love for the table to find a home where it will be appreciated for the next 250 years. There is documentation of its original owner. It is an excellent example of an early American piece of fine furniture. It is most likely from New England and the scalloped top is typical of other New England tilt tops. A very similar Massachusetts tilt top table sold at Christie's NY Auction. October 1983 was dated at around 1765-1785. The hand-forged iron brace under the legs is original- not a repair. There are no breaks or cracks on ... morethe top or anywhere else. As far as I can tell it is the original finish. As far as shipping is concerned. I am flexible and we can discuss the best way to pack and ship it. Pick up or delivery is also possible if you're not too far away.

Very Fine Antique English Georgian Mahogany Tilt Top Tea Table Circa 1780's
Very Fine Antique English Georgian Mahogany Tilt Top Tea Table Circa 1780's Very meaty heavy table! 2 board top Nicely cut and proportioned legs and feet Good table Fits nicely into a chic city apartment. Or a country primitive house with a more formal parlour. Top has been off of the center mounting block. And reglued. No real damage done, the block probably dried out and cracked, then somebody reinforced with dowel rods, and reset the block back onto the pedestal. This repair was most likely done 30-40 years ago. The finish is a brown colour. With hints of red undertones. Top is slightly sun bleached, could be refinished to have better colour. 30 1/2" by 31" top. 27" tall Posted with

ANTIQUE GEORGIAN MAHOGANY & WALNUT? TILT-TOP TRAY-TOPPED TRIPOD OCCASIONAL TABLE
ANTIQUE GEORGIAN MAHOGANY& WALNUT TILT-TOP TRAY-TOPPED TRIPOD OCCASIONAL TABLE* PLEASE SCROLL DOWN AFTER THE DESCRIPTION TO SEE THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF THIS ITEM. IF YOU WANT TO SEE ANY FURTHER IMAGES PLEASE JUST ASK. This superb antique tray-topped tripod table dates from approx. 1780 and is a country piece. It is constructed from what we believe to be solid mahogany and walnut. Although please note that we are not 100% sure of the wood types. The table has an oval tray top, so-called because of the rail around the edge(please note that top does not remove) This rail was constructed from one continuous piece of thin wood, and is joined together at one side with a small metal bracket that is original to the piece. The top can be tilted. The table is supported on a tripod base with a turned central column with ring turnings. Condition: Overall ... morethis handsome piece is in good usuable condition. With some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing, scratching and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some signs of restoration and repair of various ages. The rail around the top has been repaired in one area. The supports underneath the top have been replaced at some point, and the catch for the top is also a more modern replacement. We believe the top of the central column may have had some work done at some point. One of the legs is slightly twisted. The table is solid and usuable but there is some slight movement in the joints. There are some signs of old woodworm to the base- this is not active, but has been retreated as a precaution. Please refer to photographs below. The approx. measurements are as follows: Overall- 76cm high(top flat) 100.5cm high(top tilted) 71.5cm by 48.5cm(dimensions of top) Ref. 11330) DELIVERY: The purchaser is welcome to collect(or arrange collection by courier) by appointment from our premises. Queen Anne Mahogany Tilt Top Candlestand Table 18th Century Snake Foot
Lovely little Queen Anne snake foot candlestand in mahogany. This has either the original surface or an extremely old refinish. You can see the hand planing marks and the tenon is a square tenon. All the screws are original old screws and there is no damage or repair to the piece. Lovely smooth as glass surface from years of polishing. It would probably be best to remove the top in shipping but I will leave that up to the buyer. It measures 29" high. The top is 14 1/2" by 28" and it is 7" high to the kick-up of the base. If you notice the one negative feedback listed for damage in shipping. Please take into account that the person's idea of damage was some minor scuffing to the book spine and he sent extremely abusive emails threatening a negative feedback if I didn't discount the price. I immediately offered a ... morefull refund plus return shipping which would have been done without his threats. I received no further emails, no books and one negative feedback instead. I have shipped porcelain, furniture and fragile cameos with no problems whether they were 10.00 or 800.00 and even though I have had external damage to the packaging, the items still arrived safely. The Best Antique English Mahogany Queen Anne Tilt Top Parlour Table Ca. 1760's
The Best Antique English Mahogany Queen Anne Tilt Top Parlour Table Ca. 1760's This is truly a stately piece of furniture! Nothing exudes formal like English Queen Anne furniture in mahogany. And what a commanding table this is! 37" TOP. ONE BOARD! Just imagine in the 18th century how big that tree must have been to get a refined board that size from! Huge! We have a passion for tilt top tables. And this one is no exception. If your looking for a big tea/parlour table for a very formal setting. Or looking to mix in with a chic modern studio apartment, then look no further. This is a great table. In nearly 100% original condition. There are no major repairs aside from a old leg repair, and a butterfly on the back side of the top to reinforce a very old split that happened as the huge top aged and the wood shrank. The finish may not ... morebe the original surface, but it has a good lacquer finish. Some dings/scratches/marks on the top, to be expected with a table thus old. This is a spectacular table. Surly to be a conversation starter. Please. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. Solid mahogany construction. With live oak batons, and top block. Original brass catch. Size: 37 1/4 by 36 3/4" round) By 28" tall
Great Antique Chester County, Pa Walnut Queen Anne Tilt Top Table 1750'S
Great Antique Chester County. Pa Walnut Queen Anne Tilt Top Table 1750'S Wow what a table! We love tilt top tea tables. And this table is exceptionally nice. Superbly turned Center column. And wonderfully carved Spanish feet. Truly the work of a master turner and carver in Chester County. PA The top even has a moulded edge. To match the nice turnings! This table has a few repairs here and there. Nothing out of the ordinary for a table from the 1750-1770's The top has batons that are dovetailed onto the top boards. And 4 butterfly's to reinforce the top, most likely shrinkage. We are confident that the birdcage is mostly original, but the batons are later repairs done most likely in the late 1800's. The repairs are not modern. They are all hand done. The table was painted. Then subsequently stripped and refinish quite sometime ... moreago. The original finish is long gone. The current surface is a mellow aged brown. We had the key and donut made to fit the table. They were not there when we acquired the table. Size: 32" by 31 1/2" top(round) 28 1/2" tall

Southern Queen Anne Mahogany Tilt Top Antique Table, North Carolina 18th Century
FINE AMERICAN QUEEN ANNE MAHOGANY TILT TOP TABLE. SOUTHERN STATES Chowan County. North Carolina; probably Edenton; c. 1750-80 Item# 409JPP04Z An exceptional surviving example in nearly untouched condition other than the fine finish. This American Queen Anne Round Tilting Top Tea Table is closely associated with a small grouping of furniture from the coastal North Carolina, particularly Edenton. The work center is distinct for it's use of a dovetailed box instead of a birdcage with pillars as the rotating and tilting functionary, a technique founded in British furniture but only known to have been employed in American furniture of coastal North Carolina, specifically Chowan County. Further related are the uses of a large turned boss in place of a tri-form iron bracket beneath the pedestal to secure the dovetailed legs to the base and the ... morescrolled volute leg returns at the juncture of the leg and pedestal. This is only hinted at in the present example, the soft roundel left unembellished as a simple scroll along the interior edge of each leg. Like most of the tables identified from this work center, the top is a thick and broad beautifully grained solid plank of mahogany, affixed to the dovetailed mahogany box on a pair of blunt ended cleats with original screws flanking projecting dowels from the box. The pedestal is striking for it's compressed urn and tight ring turnings beneath an elongated shaft. The legs have a soft and highly effective profile. The cabriole flowing into a rounded foot over thin pads of the solid. The table is preserved in outstanding condition with many layers of later finish over early color and deep patina, retaining it's original iron tombstone latch and brass catch with it's original hand filed steel screws, likewise with original unmoved cleats and most of it's original screws. The large turned boss remains affixed with it's original iron sprig nails. This is an exceptional investment grade selection for serious collectors of American works. Materials: All primar

Queen Anne Tilt Top Tea Table Candle Stand with Bird Cage Late 18th Century
There is no reserve on this lovely antique Queen Anne tilt top tea table candle stand with bird cage from the late 18th century. The bird cage support allows the table to rotate and tilt. I believe this table is maple. It is 24 1/2 inches high. The top is out of round. Proving age and measures 17 5/8 inches in one direction and 17 3/8 in another. This happens with shrinkage due to the age of the table. There is a hand made wooden peg that holds the bird cage in place. Table tilts easily and locks in position. It is in excellent condition. Price includes shipping and insurance in he lower 48.
