American New England Queen Anne Pad Foot Diminutive Gate Leg Card Antique Table
Diminutive American Queen Anne Drop Leaf Table c. 1750-70 New England States. Maple Primary woods, Pine frame Resting over tapered legs and pad feet Item# 120011IQO24 This is a uniquely diminutive and quite attractive Queen Anne drop leaf table. Crafted of solid Maple in the New England States during the mid-to-late 18th Century, probably 1750-1770. The shapely top opens over ruled joints for a clean and broad surface- excellent dimensions for use as a functional card table or breakfast table, folding up as a wonderful hall table or dining room server. In 18th century homes, it was important that dining and entertaining furniture could be used flexibly for multiple uses, both functionally as a useful piece when hosting company, but also aesthetically to enhance the beauty of a given room. This table, with it's wonderful dimensions and ... morefine lines, clearly would have been a desirable piece in most households of the period. Originally this table would have been painted. Evidence still in the corners and crevices of a white paint that may have been the original color. One leaf is a solid plank of solid maple, the top and one other leaf crafted of two pieces of broad maple, all hanging over entirely original hand forged iron hinges- several of the original screws are still preserved in these. The table rests over a primarily pine frame, one leg gating outward on each side to reveal the dovetailed construction of the frame, the legs joined to the gate with double pinned tenon-mortise joints and swinging on a thick and heavy knuckle joint. The legs are perfect turned works, each perfectly tapering into a tiny ankle before flowing into the soft padded foot. This is an outstanding find for the collector and decorator alike- in excellent structural condition. Fully capable of regular use as a card table and serving table alike, this is a piece that if well cared for will last through many generations in your family. Measurements: 37 1/2" wide x 37 1/4" diameter when opened 27" high; leaf 1 = 12 13/16&quo

American New England Carved Cherry Tilt Candle Stand Candlestand Side Tea Table
American New England Carved Cherry Candlestand Side Table c. 1790-1810 Incredible carved pedestal with a"la croix pattée" repeating motif Sweeping legs with raised acanthus carvings over ball feet Item# 120011EWQ24 This is a remarkable candle stand table. Crafted in the New England states of early America, probably during the last years of the 18th Century, possibly as late as 1810. The shapely rectangular form top is rounded and notched at each corner, giving it a stilted flow that aligns with the overall appeal of the table. Rotating smoothly on a doweled mechanism, the table tilts from a fully functional tea table or side table to be a space conscious presentation piece, revealing the full beauty of the solid plank cherry top while bringing visual interest to a corner of the room. The pedestal is an absolute work of art. ... moreA practice in patience from a very steady and skilled hand. It is crafted with long flawless rows of a repeating" la croix pattée" motif. Carved deeply and perfectly along the length of the turned shaft. The Cross pattée, also referred to as the cross formée, literally translated from the French"la croix pattée" as"The Footed Cross" is primarily associated as a Christian symbol. Sometimes used by military organizations in Christian Nations, commonly associated with the Crusades and royalty of Britain, the symbol evokes the idea of a noble ideal. This is topped and footed by tight swirls of ring turnings. The legs have a wonderful swooping motion. Flowing smoothly from the base into ball turned little wooden feet, each fully original. Along the top of the entire leg is a smooth raised acanthus form carving. Each leg is locked into the pedestal using a hand forged tri-bracket with many original nails, all three joining together where the pedestal rounds with deep fluting. This is a stunning and quite unique table. Probably crafted by an artisan of low volume for a more rural market. The"mistake" of the top could suggest t

New England Chippendale Birch Drop Leaf Table with Scalloped Leaves Circa 1780
New England Chippendale Birch Drop Leaf Table with Scalloped Leaves Circa 1780 Wow. Here is a very nice table from circa 1780. Recently picked it up at a high end decorative arts catalog sale in PA. The table was described as being ca 1780 and as being made in New England. What I think makes is quite unique is the scalloped leaves on the table. Have come across this design very rarely in my 35 years of furniture dealing. The table appears to be made of birch wood. You be the judge of the wood type. It just has a great sheen and glow to the tabletop. Check out the one pic with a shot of the entire top with the leaves up. Just awesome. Great legs on this table as well with the design of them, not just squared out legs. I suspect this table originally belonged to someone of some stature. The top has dowel plugs where the legs and frame are attached ... moreto it. One side of the main top appears to have been mended at one time and a nice job of doing it was performed. The main top where it was pieced together has the seams coming apart. That is not splitting of the wood. A good master carpenter could fix that issue quite easily. The table is 38.5" long by 14-3/8" across with the leaves down. The table is 27.5" tall. With the leaves up. The table is 40.5" across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Make sure that this table meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it. The item can be returned. But there is a $300 restocking fee to do so. So again. Ask all questions you have, come see in person or send a friend to see the table on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it. This is a special instrument and I want to make sure it goes to a home that will appreciate it, so looking for serious inquiries only. The table is too old. Large and heavy for shipping safely via freight, so this table is for local pick-up only. Buyer is welcome to make their own packing and shipping arrangements as well. I will also offer to deliver the furniture to within 70 miles

NEW ENGLAND DROP-LEAF FARM TABLE, c.1790s-1820s, EXCELLENT PATINA
Offering an antique New England drop-leaf farm table. c.1790s-1820s. It's very solidly made. With nice period handcrafted details in the construction. The farm table is made of pine, which was common for a country dining table during this era. Four adults can comfortably be seated at this table and it's exceptionally sturdy for everyday use, given it's age. The history is present in a wonderful worn patina to the top surface, which only age and use can create. There are plenty of scratches and a mark/dark spot left behind from a candle holder, which give testament to it's former use. It's not exactly"Primitive" as it's fully functional. The table has a simplicity, which lends itself to both traditional settings and more contemporary spaces. For someone looking to mix a late 18th century to early 19th century ... moretable with the sleekness of modern classics, this is the table! This is a piece with a strong heritage, individual character and ready to add it's warm presence to any home. Both leaves have a slight bow, as is expected with well used antique farm tables. Antique New England Scalloped Tilt Top Tea Table
This Tilt Top table has been in my family for over 250 years- we no longer have space for it and. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit in with our new South West home's decor. We brought it from Maine to New Mexico hoping we could use it but it just doesn't fit and none of the family has interest in it. We would love for the table to find a home where it will be appreciated for the next 250 years. There is documentation of its original owner. It is an excellent example of an early American piece of fine furniture. It is most likely from New England and the scalloped top is typical of other New England tilt tops. A very similar Massachusetts tilt top table sold at Christie's NY Auction. October 1983 was dated at around 1765-1785. The hand-forged iron brace under the legs is original- not a repair. There are no breaks or cracks on ... morethe top or anywhere else. As far as I can tell it is the original finish. As far as shipping is concerned. I am flexible and we can discuss the best way to pack and ship it. Pick up or delivery is also possible if you're not too far away.

Fine Chippendale Mahogany Pie Crust Table, England or Philadelphia c. 1760-80
CHEST OF DRAWERS ANTIQUE CHAIRS TABLES BRONZE SCULPTURES FINE PAINTINGS SCHOOL OF ORIGIN SUBJECT LAMPS. LIGHTING CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY PIE CRUST TILT TOP SIDE TABLE Probably English. Possibly American(Philadelphia) c. 1760-80 Item# 1403MPI22-A This is an outstanding representation of the excellence in craftsmanship pursued during the third quarter of the 18th century. Retaining an early and deeply patinated shellac surface over an earlier finish. The hues are a delightful variation of cognac brown on the top, deeply oxidized and nearly blackened pedestal and legs with hints of ruby showing through in the rubbed areas. It is ruddy and very attractive. The top is crafted of a single solid plank of brilliantly grained mahogany, the back retaining tiny filled holes of when it was affixed to the lathe to be carefully turned until the edge was raised ... moreabove the rest of the surface. The edge was then crisply and precisely carved to result in a beautifully flowing molding in what is commonly known as a"pie crust" Lifting over original untouched cleats, the top retains it's original brass clasp and catch, locking the top to the square base through which the pedestal tenons. The pedestal is stunning, an inverted trumpet with a pair of graduated spiral urns set among a series of crisp ring turnings over the bell turned base. Embellished with deep acanthus embossments swirling around the carved anthemion motif, the ogival curve of the legs droops suddenly before they enter the base in large and deeply sunk dovetails, formerly affixed beneath a iron tri-form bracket now absent. These terminate in fine ball and claw feet, the claws elongated and elegant. It is difficult to be certain of it's origin. Retaining many similarities to work of the Philadelphia work center while certainly having contemporaries on the other side of the Atlantic. We would assume it to be English in origin, a simply delightful little work that is in every way a strike point for any setting in the home. Very useful and practical, it is st

18th century William & Mary tavern table from New England Maple base Pine top
This is a wonderful antique Tavern Table from the early to mid 18th Century. The base is of Maple. And has been reduced in stature by time and wear. The table is 32" wide, 21.5" deep, and 25" tall. The top is of Pine wood in two pieces. It bows slightly, and As the grain goes together, I believe that it was 1 piece in the beginning. It has an old re-finish, and the dovetails on the drawer have been nailed into place due to shrinkage. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. This is a superb specimen in amazing condition with a dovetailed table box and pegged joinery. It has original brasses and pure structural integrity with a molded drawer face. This is an extremely choice period Pembroke. The only thing we can see is a previous owner placed some picture hanging wires to ... morepull out its leaves support braces that telescope out of the table's frame. We'll replace these with some more attractive pulls befitting this superior piece. It is 31" long. 21" wide, 38 1/2" with its leaves locked up and its 28 1/4" tall. Rare Early Federal Northern New England Tiger Maple Dropleaf Harvest Table 1790s
Rare Early Federal Northern New England Tiger Maple Dropleaf Harvest Table 1790s Maine or New Hampshire or Vermont States Circa 1790-1810. View the entire photo slideshow here: via Flickr) We are pleased to present a great early federal Maine/Vermont/New Hampshire Tiger Maple Dropleaf Harvest Table. this table is superb in every aspect. Great patina, bold tigering to the grain, wonderfully formed birch tapered legs, dovetailed frame. Pegged construction for the legas to the base, the legs are dovetailed into the frame. the side rails are rosehead nailed onto the sides of the frame. The table is a swing leg, with hand cut wood pinned hinges for the legs. all are fully functioning, and still completely 100% serviceable. Condition: The finish on the top is for the most part the original surface. And polished under a coat of wax. The Leaves are ... morestill working on the original hand wrought iron hinges. one of the leaves is in original condition. the other one not so much. our best gues is at one point in its relatively recent life, the leaf must have been warped, as often as Tiger Maple does over the years. somebody took the leaf off, the cut it into strips, and reglued them back, and then they replaned it. it is slightly thiner and shorter than the original leaf. I was highly dissapointed when i first discovered this. The top and the 2 leaves have matching grain, they all came from the same tree, so i am kinda ok with the repair, over the leaf being replaced all together. NONETHELESS this table is still a very rare find! one would have to drive a long distance to find another. we are 100% certain that the top and leaves are original to the base. As the scribe marks on the underside of the top line up with the base. we removed the screws holding the top onto the base, and verified this. the height on the base is good. And uncut to the best of our knowledge. Woods: Tiger Maple Top. Leaves, and skirt end tablets. Birch Legs, and Straight grain Maple swing leg and leaf supports, and main frame body rails. hand wrought i

Antique New England Chippendale Game Table, Gate Leg, Flip Top, Late 18th Cntry
Antique New England Chippendale Game Table. Gate Leg, Flip Top, Late 18th Century ~ This is a beautiful antique table that has all the great features of the classic American Chippendale styling. It has been comparison dated as a late 18th century creation. As a 215 year old antique table. That has had frequent use in the early half of its life I'm sure, there are signs of wear and age. Some of the wood plugs that covered the fasteners in the legs and top are gone revealing what's underneath. There are some separations of the table top from shrinkage, and some cracks and nicks from accidental or careless bumps. The three stationary legs and their corresponding table rails are strong and solid. The gate leg has some loose joints, but functions well. The table appears to be cherry and perhaps walnut. The four straight legs have a fluted ... moredesign. The single drawer has brass hardware and single dovetail corner construction. The drawer bottom has a hand milled single bottom board. One back, bottom corner of the drawer has chipped away revealing small square nails used in the construction. There are recessed original brass hinges on the table top, and the gate leg mechanism is all hand crafted wood. The out of sight underside has rough honed lumber with evedance of worm holes. Please review all the photos carefully and send in any questions you have. In addition I can send you additional photos and a pre sale inspection is recommended and welcome. Thank you for your interest. Specs: 27.5" Tall; Top Closed = 36" X 16.5" Top Open = 36" X 33" Drawer = 25.75" X 12.5" X 4" Fluted Legs= 1.5" Square. Outside Leg to Outside Leg Wide Side = 28.5" Narrow Side = 15" While I have listed this as a local pickup only. I will assist the buyer in getting the table to a nearby shipper of your choice. The shipping arrangements, packing and all associated costs, will be the responsibility of the buyer. However, I will assist and support your efforts as much as possible. Thank yo
