The table is mahogany with birch inlay and mahogany veneers. It has a fifth leg that swings open to support the top and is probably from New England. The table is 36" wide by 18" deep by 30" high closed. Opened it is 36" across by 29" high. It was once a gorgeous table but has some significant problems as follows: the top is warped and there have been some rather sloppy repairs. Mostly done with a shellac stick. Antique American Mahogany Chippendale Lowboy Circa 1780-1790 Description: A fine American mahogany Chippendale lowboy. Mid-Atlantic states, circa 1780-1790. The lowboy features a fine scalloped skirt and shaped corner brackets over straight square legs with an unusual"X" stretcher. The hardware is original and the finish is old. The top has a wide banded border. Secondary woods are oak and pine. The lowboy measures 29 1/2" wide by 18" deep by 28" high. In very good condition.
