This piece stands 30 inches tall~ approx 2 ... more1/2 feet. 22 3/4 inches across the top/ square. The bottom shelf. At the narrowest point, measures 15 inches across square. The glass balls in the feet measure 3 inches across and the legs. At the widest point, about half way up, measures 3 1/4 inches across. This table is not marked. Signed, dated, stamped or otherwise labeled. There is a small dark stain to the table top that measures approx 4inches by 2 inches. A darker spot next to that as well but not sure what that spot is. Both can be seen in the last picture. There are no major chips. Cracks or other issues to any part of the wood. It is possible this is a Louis F Nonnast table made between 1878-1888. I do not know much about this size. Style or age. If you have any information that may be helpful to identifying this piece. I would very much appreciate dropping me a line or two. Local Pick Up is best for this large. Beautiful and well taken care of item. It worries me to ship it as I have seen very few table such as this. However. The way this is constructed, it appears it can be taken apart ~ legs removed and lower shelf removed, for possible shipping. Because of its size and weight. It may need to be shipped Freight~ atleast the top of the table, which I do not have an account or shipping association to do. I can check with UPS and see what would need to be done. Original period 17th c. European solid oak round table on a three footed stand. Exceptional old furniture. The top is made in one uncut piece only; it measures 35" in diameter by 1 1/4" wide, and 32 Inches tall. The feet are solid and are from 2 to 4 inches thick. The center trunk measures 6" in diameter. Tel: 01432 357753 Description: This is a very attractive late 17th Century antique English oak baluster turned leg. Single frieze drawer side/ centre/ hall table. The table stands on turned bun feet, rising over this are the plain stretchers and lovely rich coloured baluster turned legs, having a moulded frieze and the drawer having a very decorative punched and chip carved decoration either side of the moulding and a matched punched decoration in the moulding of dog tooth designs. The drawer has pine linings and oak side rails, with the drawer runners cut into the side of the drawer frame. The table is surmounted by a solid oak top with cleated ends(which are a later repair) The table has a beautiful rich antique patination. A ... morelovely original antique country oak table suitable as a hall, side, centre, writing table or desk, of classic joined construction with mortise and tennon joints with dowels. Date: The table dates circa 1650- 1750- 17th- 18th Century. Condition: The table is in good condition for its age. There is some gnarling in one of the feet with minor distress marks to leading edges. There are some old woodworm holes and a little filler has been used in the side rail of the drawer. Nothing structural but worth a mention. The table is around 200- 300 years old therefore has character to reflect its age. There is a little lifting to one of the cleats in the timbers and the top is pegged in the corners, where the top meets the legs. The drawer front has a couple of pieces of wood'let in' over time. Again this all adding to character and authenticity. Georgian Victorian country oak drop leaf gate leg table
Charming solid oak drop leaf gate leg table in a country style. Probably dates to around the turn of the 19th Century but hard to be sure with a table of this type. The table includes a useful drawer that looks to be original. Although it may have had a new handle added at some point in its life. Table is structurally sound for its age but has two areas of damage to the top(see pictures) and could do with a little wax here and there- i have tried to show these rather than cover them up so you know what you are getting. But they could be remedied by a decent French polisher, covered or just ignored and taken as part of the history of the piece. Typically for a piece of this age there is some evidence of woodworm but looks very old. This makes a great kitchen or occasional table. Fits neatly in an alcove or at the end of a sofa, and of course ... morethe flaps give full flexibility. Naturally is from England and is in very nice condition for usage and its age. There is No veneer on this table.totally solid oak throughout including its two attached leaves. The table is from a friend of a family who has passed on and had nothing but excellent antiques and owns an 18c homestead. The table is authentic and I guarantee it. It is sturdy and very good looking. The top has some old stains on it. However I left it alone and would not have anything sanded out or stripped. The top and the whole table have wonderful patina. I am a purist and appreciate the age and construction of this piece. The legs swing out to accomodate two leaves. The English pad foot is handcarved and very nice. The table's ... moreage is anywhere from late 1700s to early 1800s. Measuremnts: The table closed is not big. Which is why it is so nice to have behind a sofa or on a wall; and then.when folks come over, it opens to a truly nice table and 6 can fit to it having a bite to eat. Oscar Wilde A Wonderful 17thC English Oak Refectory Table Period: Charles II/Stuart Provenance: Unknown Date: c.1680-1700 Length: 62.5 inches Width: 27.5 inches Height: 29 inches Leg Room: 23.5 inches The seventeenth century oak refectory table having a richly coloured rectangular boarded top with pegged ends on turned baluster legs joined by a low level'H' stretcher. Survives from late seventeenth century Stuart period England. The condition is hugely evocative of its life thus far and as such is not for those who favour perfection but large doses of Stuart period character. There may be later additions and there is a triangular shaped repair to the top which also has bowing. Splits and losses. ... moreThese include a corner section of loss, and two or three cracks running through the top that have widened with temperature changes throughout its years. The underside of the top is a fabulous grey oak colour, expected with oak of this age. There are sections of gnarled loss to the legs, especially to one in particular and another of the legs looks like a possible later replacement as the turnings are not quite of the same proportions as the other three. The colour and patination is superb to the top and we have given her a light wax. We don’t believe any of these imperfections make the table any less practical but if one is shy of character it may be best to look elsewhere. 16th/17th Century Antique Joined Oak Center or Side Table - Medieval Pilgrim Era
Fine Items from ALittleUnlimited Description An unusual and rare joined oak table dating to the late 1500's or 1600's featuring legs that are cut in a silhouette emulating turned legs and joined by stretchers around the base and an with a three board top. The three boards pegged together from beneath and the top pegged to the base. It was made by a joiner who did not have access to a lathe but wanted shaped legs rather than square legs. It measures 27" tall. 30" wide and 21" deep. This 400(plus or minus) year old table has a beautiful old finish and patina and shows age appropriate wear. One of the corner edges of the top has been replaced with a piece that was skillfully carved to match the jagged edge. I am moving back to Europe and unfortunately cannot take this great coffee table back with me. This is a very unique and special piece and I plan on trying to replicate this table when I get back to Europe. This is a serious talking point piece- here is the story: The first thing to know is that they did not have coffee tables in the olden days- the coffee table is a modern day invention- rich folk had servants and they served the coffee and tea. So there was no use for a coffee table. So how can we claim this is a Pre-1800 coffee table? Well. The secret is in the title and the pictures. This is actually a French Oak Farmhouse table. I had a professional carpenter reduce the length of the table legs to turn it into a coffee table. I kept the original bottoms of the legs that were cut off. And one of them is pictured, and you will get all ... morefour cut off legs with the table as I kept them. For the record, it truly upset the carpenter to chop the legs down- as you will see, the wood is actually petrified. But I was having real problems finding a great antique coffee table. So I came up with this idea- and it worked out amazing! I purchased this item in London at auction in February. 2001 for 600 pounds sterling and I had it shipped to the US with a lot of other furniture that I purchased. The auctioneers estimate was actually 600- 800 pounds, so I got a great deal on it. Including the auction commission/ freight. In current dollars, my cost was approx. $1,200 for this item. For comparison. Reproduction coffee tables not nearly as solid or as nice as this, and not even made out of oak, cost in excess of $3,000- just take a look! The auctioneer was the esteemed Christies. A most attractive and signifincantly old oak tripod table. Circa 1700. Great weight and density to the oak. Replete with wonderful markers of great age. Including: numerous tiny splices and sections re-cut into the four plank table top; repairs to the beautifully scolled legs comprising ancient peg joints and re cut wedges under each foot where time had worn them uneven; a hand forged cast iron trefoil brace on the under side of the legs and too many more to mention. The table top is a four plank affair. Sitting on later runners beneath, but with an original top block in burr oak. The central column has been shaped on a hand lathe, the top section being delightfully and inimitably turned slightly of true. The end result is a robust and weighty table of immense character. I've had this table about 18 years. The original appraisal says late 18th to early 19th century table. It is in Kentucky for interested parties. I just moved it to one of my warehouses. This table is unique in the fact it is very heavily carved. Most trestle tables of this age do not have legs and an apron with this impressive carving.

THIS JOLLY NICE SIDE TABLE DATES FROM THE GEORGIAN ERA[around 1835] IT IS MADE OF SOLID OAK WHICH HAS A VERY NICE MID BROWN POLISHED PATINA TO IT. IT HAS A DRAWER TO THE FRONT OF IT WHICH HAS CARVINGS ON IT AND IT STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL HANDLE. IT STANDS ON FOUR TURNED WOOD LEGS AND ALL THE JOINTS ARE PEGGED. THE TOP HAS A"PIE CRUST" TYPE EDGEING AROUND IT. AND THE TABLE ITSELF MEASURES APPROXIMATLEY 64cm WIDE, BY 56cm DEEP, BY 66cm TALL. Wonderful Walnut and Oak Country Swiss Folding Table Early 18C Sotheby's
Unusual and Fantastic Early 18C County Swiss Walnut Table with Oak Base. Table has one drawer and completely comes apart. Looks like the Walnut top is perhaps older then the folding base though this was not stated in the original Sotheby's description. Walnut Top is 31 1/4" by 25 1/4" Table stands 27 1/2" high. Antique Period Jacobean English Oak Gate Leg Table, Circa Late 17th Century
Description Nice small Jacobean gate-leg table. Made in England circa 17th century. Dark oak finish with excellent turnings. Provenance: Northeast Auctions. Portsmouth, NH. Dimensions 25 1/4 inches high. 33 inches wide. 12.5 inches deep with the leaves down. 40 inches deep with the top open. Condition As expected for its age. The table has appropriate wear throughout that you can see in the pictures. There is also a break in a board on one leaf. This is certainly repairable if you choose. Other than that the table is structurally sound. ENGLISH SOLID OAK TABLE~LATE 18C~EARLY 19C~QUEEN ANNE PAD FOOT~LOVELY~RARE~NO R!
Description This wonderful very old SOLID English oak table. Naturally is from England and is in very nice condition for usage and its age. There is No veneer on this table.totally solid oak throughout including its two leaves. The table is from a friend of a family who has passed on and had nothing but excellent antiques and owns an 18c homestead. The table is authentic and I guarantee it. It is sturdy and very good looking. The top has some old stains on it. However I left it alone and would not have anything sanded out or stripped. The top and the whole table have wonderful patina. I am a purist and appreciate the age and construction of this piece. The legs swing out to accomodate two leaves. The English pad foot is handcarved and very nice. Measuremnts: The table closed is not big. Which is why it is so nice to have behind a sofa or ... moreon a wall; and then.when folks come over, it opens to a truly nice table and 6 can fit to it having a bite to eat. It measures opened 44 3/4" long by 35 3/4" wide, and if you just had a friend over or wanted to serve some appetizers, you could open only one leaf and have plenty of room. It measures 27 7/8" from the floor making it very comfortable to eat with any chair under it. See the pictures of my old chair near it. Closed: The table is 16" deep and 44 3/4" long. The pad foot is a good size and the table is NOT wobbly. NO CRACKS, NO BREAKS AND I SEE NO REPAIRS.GOOD AND SOLID. AGE: I believe this table is quite old. Late 1700s into early 1800s. See the wonderful finger joints in its original swing for the pad foot to extend leaf. See also the peg or rounded wood nails. There is NO post beatle rot! It also weighs a bit due to its solid oak wood. Please ask questions. Happy to oblige. This is a reasonable priced auction and it is a final sale.
