I have no idea how this thing works, what the pieces are for, or if all the pieces are present. This thing came from an estate sale; it just seemed interesting to me. The box measures about 13 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 6 1/2" Notice that th e case is damaged. The case is locked. But it has been broken open to access it. There are original booklets about this item and other Lindstrom products included with this auction.

The inside purple felt material is in excellent shape. The only sign of wear is in the leather handle on the outer carrying case as the pictures clearly indicate. Vintage Violet Ray Wand (nonworking) with Electrode
This is a Vintage Violet Ray personal portable unit from the turn of the last century invented by Nikola Tesla. The wand is made by Bleadon-Dunn. It seems like it has had some water damage and is not functioning. There is one large mushroom electrode with Violet/Argon gas that is working fine. It has an unusually larger than normal head on it. The cord is in excellent shape with some very minor fraying which is shown in a photo. The plug is US 2-prong brown Bakelite. The handle to the unit is an unusual brown marbleized Bakelite. I tested the mushroom electrode using my plasma ball and it is intact with noble gas inside. The box is from another unit and made from a thin cardboard which is torn on one end. As shown. Marvel Violet Ray vintage medical device from the 1920s Made by Eastern Laboratories in NY city- Patent Aug 24. 1924 Includes the Marvel Violet Ray device. Original case, one glass wand, instruction manual, guarantee paperwork, and large fold out photo showing other Violet Ray attachments I'm not certain what the device is supposed to do. It was plugged in. And makes a buzzing noise, but I'm uncertain if the item truly works as intended. Electrical cord in very good condition. Dial at the base turns smoothly left to right. Glass wand is intact with no cracks. Original wooden case is in near mint condition with a working clasp. Instruction manual in near mint condition. No rips. Vintage Holo-Electron Violet Ray with 6 Electrodes (working)
This Turn-of-the-Century Holo-Electron device is made in France. It will run either on 110v or 220v with very minor adaptations. It is currently set for 110v. If you would like it to be 220v it will be shipped for that setting. The original black Bakelite plug is the European plug. The US plug was purchased on ebay and may not be vintage but looks like brown Bakelite. The wire from the machine to the plug is the original cloth-covered twisted pair. It is best not to come into contact with that wire when the device is running to avoid a minor shock. The original wire from the device to the wand handle was so frayed it was unsafe. That wire has been replaced with about 7 feet of 18 gauge wire that is very well-insulated and safe to contact the body when in use. It is very thin and flexible and therefore easy to wrap around the handle for storage. ... moreIt is best to keep all the wires away from the body. In general. The wire used for this restoration is from SunDial Electric- cloth-covered black wire. The box itself is in good condition except for the missing carrying handle. As shown. It looks to be the texture of alligator or lizard skin. I cannot confirm the authenticity. The inside dial area is made of a brown/black Bakelite with an intensity control dial. The size of the box, when closed, is 10.5" x 8" x 4.5" All of the 6 electrodes are in good working condition and filled with violet-glowing argon gas. Except for the metal body contact probe. The Electrodes are as follows. They will be shipped inside a separate box and well-wrapped for shipping. Please note the order of the electrodes and place them back inside the machine in this order for the best arrangement in fitting. 1. Large Mushroom Electrode 2. Spine Electrode 3. Comb 4. Neck/Throat Curved Electrode 5. Wart Cauterizer with Platinum Wire intact 6. Metal Body Contact Probe(this is the strongest electrode and should be held in the hand prior to turning on the machine) As in all old spark-gap wands. This will overheat after about 10 minutes and

This is a beautifully working powerful VINTAGE VIOLET RAY- WAND. It s a Renulife. Which is one of the best, and probably made in the 1920s. At that time many households had these devices to cure all sorts of ailments. There was little it could not be used for but sadly there were few miracles from it. But a rather gigantic placebo effect. And it is easy to see why. It is magic and for 1920s really futuristic. The device was made by the 100,000s and some were very fancy with many attachments. The fancy ones were mostly were used by the Doctors and traveling Practitioners who believed this device cured everything from arthritis to hair loss. Today we call them all Quacks. Now I would like to apologize to the modern day"Quacks" who believe these devices still offer some medical benefits. They might be right. It certainly is a dynamic ... moreforce. And while I'm at it I can offer sympathy to the collectors who might be outraged by the changing of the capacitor on this device and the use of modern replica wire and the white replica polarized plug in the rebuild. So take your pick or add your own outrage. They're sure to be a lot of people disturbed with this device. If fact to use it on people for most anything may still be illegal as it was banned and outlawed by the FDA in the 50s or 60s. They ordered them destroyed. Then we get to the group of Fetish buyers whom I will offer no condolences to. You know who you are! Be careful. This one is kick ass. This White Renulife was probably used by a modest family.The seller told me an old legend when it was purchased but I have nothing to back it up. It had a name. White Whisker" later changed to"White Widow" and was put away one day in 1943 when the widow Douglas lost her husband to a German artillery shell. Somehow the use of this device was not consistent with her new vocation as a Nun. It appeared mysteriously is a dusty old Asian market down in a dark but dry basement 70 years later. For the most part it appears to be in very good shape but it appears that it may be incomplete. In my photos you see 5 glass tube attachments( one of these is broken) I believe originally there were 6 glass attachments. Please see my photos for total inventory of parts. Other things may be missing. The blue lightbulb glass is mostly unattached from it's threads. The case is in good shape but the top and bottom have cracks and there is other wear( see photos) I do not know if this will work and it is being sold as a relic of Quack Medicine.I also noticed an electrical tape repair to the cord that goes to the handset. A little scary to use on your body since it started to cause my cell to go haywire. Box is in stressed condition with corners ripped. A typical violet ray device consisted of an ungrounded electrical control box that controlled the interrupter and which housed the magneto coil. And an attached bakelite or other handle housing which contained the high voltage coil and an insertion port for attachments. Sparked, etc) However. The old, rather frayed power cord got hung up and was accidentally ripped from the unit. I attempted a repair by taking the unit apart and soldering a new power cord in place. This beautiful vintage Master Violet Ray machine came to me in excellent condition and works flawlessly. Originally it came with only one glass electrode. I am including a second glass electrode which makes it a really nice set. I added photos of the the internal components so the prospective bidder can see the exceptional condition of this machine. I purchase and overhall all kinds of vintage violet ray devices. Frequently a device will show signs of overheating. This is because at some point in it's life. The unit was operated for too long a period. This type of abuse can damage the internal capacitor and the high frequency, high voltage tesla coil inside. Vintage Early Violet Ray Machine With Glass Three Wands In Original Case
Description Welcome to my Auction for this early. Unbranded Violet Ray machine in its original case with attached Glass heads. As you can see. It is in sturdy condition though scuffs and minor damage to the casing is present, please see pics. The overlay is damaged around the edges, mainly. The handle has come away at one end. The box is 100% sturdy and the locks work. The inner is in better condition though wear is present. The actual machine has not been tested nor is the power cord available. I recommend using this only as a display item, I wouldn't trust the electrical of this machine, it is a very early one. It is being sold as spares or repairs for this reason. I cannot guarentee it works. The machine comes with its Bakelite wand and three attachments. Refurbished Vintage RenuLife Violet Ray Device - Excellent Condition
Please read and understand our disclaimer at the bottom of this page before bidding. This beautiful vintage RenuLife Violet Ray machine was patented in 1919. The original wiring was frayed and brittle and the machine had a faulty capacitor rendering it inoperable. I completely rewired this device with new cables and high voltage wire where applicable. I also replaced the faulty capacitor with a new one. Unlike the old wax paper and foil capacitors originally used in these machines. Modern film capacitors are much more durable and less prone to overheating. This Violet Ray machine now purrs like a kitten and functions as originally intended. I added photos of the the internal components so the prospective bidder can see the exceptional condition that this machine has been brought to. If the operating instructions are followed and this unit ... moreis taken care of, it should last a long time. I'm including a CD that contains vintage RenuLife manuals and interesting reading material pertaining to electrotherapy dating back to the early1900's. A strong plus to having a machine like this over a Master"brand" violet ray. Is that all of the components are not in the wand or hand-set. My mom is in her 70's and loves this machine and has found great benefit in using it to help alleviate the pain in her arthritic hands, neck and shoulders. She first tried using a Master Violet Ray device and it was too heavy and bulky for her. Her hands didn't have the strength to hold it! Having all but one coil in a box setup like like this machine, allowed the manufacturer to produce a wand that was considerably lighter, shorter and narrower in diameter. Believe it or not, it makes a huge difference. My mother is able to work with this device, where the Master Violet Ray was far to heavy. Because I believe it was first designed by Dr. Titus, is that with this tube the current may be introduced without loss into an orifice of the body. RenuLife Violet Ray Generator Model K- Vintage‘Quack’ Medicine– Not Complete This auction is for a vintage RenuLife Violet Ray Generator Model K with electrode applicators. This package is not complete. This item was purchased on eBay once before. During shipping. One of the electrodes shattered and the buyer discovered that the item no longer worked. I gave a full refund to the buyer and the item was shipped back to me. I was able to fix the unit. It’s still in good condition and it now works again. The wand. Or the handle that hold the electrodes, is in great shape. The cord and the electrical cord that plugs into the wall are also in excellent condition. The dashboard, where the control knob resides, and the control knob itself, is very nice, but there are a few small nicks and scratches on the dashboard. The labeling around the knob is ... morestill there and looks great, as you can see from the pictures. It now comes with only(4) of the(5) electrodes; a Surface or General Body Electrode. A Rake Comb Electrode, a Metal Electrode, and a Single Eye Electrode. They are all in great shape and they all work. I tested them all myself prior to posting this auction. The External Throat Electrode is the one that is missing. You can see it in the last picture, which I took the first time I put this item on eBay. It is the second electrode from the right. The carrying case is in fair to good condition. There is definitely some wear and tear on the outer surfaces. Corners, and edges and there is no handle. The purple felt inside is still there, but is slowly flaking off, along with the‘RenuLife’ logo in the inside corner of the lid. This item also comes with multiple pieces of original paperwork. It comes with the Physician’s Directions for Renulife Treatments. Which are the instructions for operating the generator. This little booklet has some bends, waves, and creases, but all the pages are there. The front cover has a small rip on the edge and has some staining and some discoloring.
