Here is a vintage miner's oil wick lamp from over 100 years ago! This used lamp is lightly stamped with an oval on the side: FRED B. ZAIS" over"FROSTBURG. MD" with"1876" in the middle. Some of the stamping is not legible. Lamp stands 2 3/4" to the hinge and has no holes or cracks. A little shallow denting on the spout, evidence of some residue inside but no visible rust. This is a very nice, very early, miners oil cap lamp predating the carbide lamps for personal mine lighting. Winning bidder is to pay $6.00 postage including Delivery Confirmation. Good luck bidding!

On the POLYGON water FEED lever: PATENTED 2-21-22" On the cap brace casing: BRACKET PAT. APLD FOR" On the felt retainer inside: PAT. APPLD FOR" On the bottom: DEC. 30, 19 PATENTED" It is especially hard to find a VICTOR with this correct felt retainer. Notice the nice patina on the lamp. The fragile flat cap brace has been reinforced with old solder on one side. This lamp shows evidence of being fired but only gently used. An excellent vintage specimen for your collection! Antique Justrite Carbide Lamp Coal Miner's Hat Leather Mine Lantern Old Vintage
Vintage Coal Miners leather winter hat. The hat has flaps that fold down to cover your ears. Made in USA, and Justrite carbide lamp. Very nice set. This item has not been cleaned, and looks just like it did when it was in use, clean or display as is. Lamp looks complete, it does has a few minor dents from age, but looks complete. A nice item from a by gone era.
