Stars in pewter are on three ... moresides of the bottles. Ground frosted glass on the stopper and inside the neck. Both stoppers have a pewter color glass trim and the same on the top of the bottles. The bottles are the same size but one has a larger neck and stopper. There is a small chip on the frosted edge of the large stopper. The small stopper has a small(hardly visible) chip on the side and you can see that the pewter goes all the way through. Not painted on. They are 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" and 4-1/2" tall. I believe this is pressed or poured glass as I can see two seams starting on the necks of the bottle. The jar is in overall good condition with one shallow chip under the rim of the lid. Mild wear to the painted decor and gilding at the foot is noted in photos. Interestingly, the original painted decor and gilding was removed and was painted over with the flowers, perhaps the original jar purchaser cancelled their order and the maker painted over the removed design to save the jar for continued use (see pics 16-19 for reference). The green is ... moreSooooo much better in person that it's not showing in my photos! I was told that it is an apothecary jar- but it does not have a lid. I'm not so sure that it ever did. Because the mouth flairs out, more like an open jar, and there's no lip etc. to indicate it may have had one. I thought it would make a fabulous vase for you, or a perfect open jar to put your balls, shells.you name it, this jar will make them shine! It's an antique blown glass piece, and the color is a lovely bright light green. It's also large, measuring 11 5/8" tall, 7" diameter at the mouth and 6" diameter at the base. It's heavy, weighing in at a solid 3 lbs. The glass is thick, and it's filled with anomolies original to the making- I'm trying to show in in my close ups, even holding it up to the sky doesn't show you very well, though. There's lots of lines(the glass is very wavy inside) bubbles and burps, even on the base. That being said, there is absolutely NO damage at all to this piece- it's in amazing condition, and just drop dead gorgeous! Please ask if you have any questions. Antique Museum Specimen Jar Apothecary Hand Blown Glass Harvard
I have for sale a pair of Hand Blown Specimen Jars from the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology. Each jar is roughly 6-1/4" tall. The glass lip is 2-1/2" wide. Though the inner opening is around an inch. I got these from a neighbor who bought them from the museum directly around 40 years ago. One jar has an index card in it- card is in photograph and reads"These jars. Ranging in age from 50 to 125 years old, were specially hand blown and were used to house part of the collection of the Museum of Comparative Zoology, the"Agassiz Museum" Museum of Comparative Zoology Harvard University. At the top is the Harvard stamp. We live in Concord. MA and my neighbor worked at the Harvard Law School. The museum has changed names again and is now known as the Harvard Peabody Museum. Jars do not have any chips or cracks though ... morethey could use a washing. Each jar weighs under 3 ounces. Which is quite light for their size implying a high quality. The green is Sooooo much better in person that it's not showing in my photos! I was told that it is an apothecary jar- but it does not have a lid. I'm not so sure that it ever did. Because the mouth flairs out, more like an open jar, and there's no lip etc. to indicate it may have had one. I thought it would make a fabulous vase for you, or a perfect open jar to put your balls, shells.you name it, this jar will make them shine! It's an antique blown glass piece, and the color is a lovely bright light green. It's also large, measuring 11 5/8" tall, 7" diameter at the mouth and 6" diameter at the base. It's heavy, weighing in at a solid 3 lbs. The glass is thick, and ... moreit's filled with anomolies original to the making- I'm trying to show in in my close ups, even holding it up to the sky doesn't show you very well, though. There's lots of lines(the glass is very wavy inside) bubbles and burps, even on the base. RARE ANTIQUE PAT 1894 CANNABIS INDICA GLASS APOTHECARY LUG BOTTLE JAR MARIJUANA
For auction is a very rare vintage antique 1890's apothecary pharmacy general store medical bottle/ jar. This jar has a wonder label under glass for Cannabis Indica. Aka Marijuana, weed, pot, ganja, smoke, endo, etc. This jar has information on the bottom and says: Patd March 6th 1894, F& S St Louis MO. The jar is farly good size, and with the lid on it measures 10 inches tall by 3 1/2 inches square. The main body of the jar without the lid measures 8 3/4 inches tall. The mouth or opening of the jar measures 2 1/4 inches across. The jar itself is in very good condition with no breaks, no chips, maybe some light small scratches. The inside rim of the jar has 1 small chip and a couple super tiny fleabites. The label is in good shape with no cracking, but what looks like some light fading or discoloring. The ornate fancy lid to the jar ... moreis also in very good shape with 1 small nick on the upper part that fits inside the jar, and some tiny fleabites. OLD square shouldered apothecary jar with Dakota pattern around neck Jar measures 9-5/8 inches tall and about 4-5/8 inches square on the base. This jar has a faint purplish color. The lid does not have the same purple color. However it does have the thumprint design. I would venture to guess that the lid is not original, but it does fit perfectly and is has the ground glass base. The lid has a a couple of very tiny rim chips or scrapes. But no major condition problems. The jar itself has a ground glass mouth interior. As far as condition, there are several rim chips around the outside edge of the neck. I've taken lots of pictures so you can see for yourself. There is also a defect on one of the square shoulders. can't tell if this is a manufacturing flaw or an OLD chip. it doesn't really look like a chip, although there is glass ... morethat is simply missing in that area. It is smooth around the right and lower three-quarters of that defect, with a small roughness at the upper left quarter. Whatever it is, it is old and solid and not causing any additional damage in the future. Overall in spite of the tiny flaws. This seems to be a very nice piece. This is a turn of the century apothecary jar which is 11" tall including the stopper and 4 3/4" in diameter with 3 1/4" stopper. Jar is heavy and sides are sturdy and thick with side marks as if made as"pressed glass" or in a mold' Stopper is interesting 1" thick and 3 1/4" in diameter There is an indented part on top of the stopper 1/4" deep and1 5/8" across. The plug part is 2 1/2" across and about 1/2" deep with a large indent also 1/2" in and 1 1/2" across. Around the edge of the plug/stopper part ther is a thin ring of cork which must have been glued on and there is about 1/4" part missing. Outside of jar has remnents of a label. I suspect that this Jar would date back to the Victorian era or earlier. The jar measures approx. 11 1/4" tall overall. 9 1/2" tall with the stopper removed, the sides measure 4 3/4" across. The stopper has a small chip and inclusion on the inside edge, the stopper fits into the jar properly and lip is not sharp or distracting at all with the stopper in place. The top of the stopper has a fantastic swirl design that gives the jar a very stylish look. This auction is for a Antique Apothecary jar/Bottle stand Owens-Illinois Glass Company Druggist Award. This is an interesting piece. The stand is 11" tall. It feels like aluminum. It is 23" tall to the top of the large glass stopper. There are some small nicks around the edge on the top where the stopper fits in. The main glass part is in good shape. Ther stopper has some flea bite nicks on the edge. There are paint splatters that will need to be cleaned off on this. I did not attempt any clean up on this, I will leave that to the high bidder. An antique glass pharmacy jar with glass label- Manna. It is in excellent condition. There is one very small nick/ chip at the inside edge of the opening. The cover/ stopper is also in excellent condition. There is an irregular line in the flat base of the stopper that does not appear to be a crack but something from manufacturing. It is on the inside surface and does not go through the width of the glass as a crack would. Approximately 9 3/4" tall(including the cover) Approximately 3 3/4" in diameter at the bottom. Antique Apothecary Bottle Label Under Glass TINCT.IODI c. 1889 This jar measures 10" tall and the dia.at the bottom is 3 1/2" I am sure these are from WT& Co but are not marked the bottle maker was located in Millville. NJ We have alot of these bottle in the range so if you are starting or rounding out a collection please look and we combine shipping. These bottle were taken out of the original container they were packed for the labels please refer to the photos as I tried to get a close up of each lable. Please refer to the photos for condition as I have no expertise in grading these labels. I have not tried to clean no wash the bottles and some may have the remnents of there original contents as they were packed in the mid century and this is the first time they have seen the light of day. This pretty little bottle is very heavy. the walls and floor of the bottle are 1/2 inch thi c k and it weigh s about 1 1/2 pounds. The opening is ground as is the stopper. circa late 1800s.extremely rare antique opaque blue opaline glass apothecary bottle.Facet Cut crystal glass with polished pontil on base.Bohemian or German made.6 3/4" tall.Fired on Porcelain enamel label.The bottle has a factory satin or frosted finish(see 2nd to last pic)But the stopper does not.The stopper is correct for the type of bottle but this example fits loosly.A few small chips on the underside of stopper-see pic.Otherwise damage free.An incredible& fine bottle that displays wonderfully& could easily be the center of a collection.Low starting bid.

Antique Clear Glass Apothecary Jar with Ground Lid Fabulous! Pictures do not show the real beauty of these jars. These are old with swirls in the glass. The tops have very minimal roughness but no big chips you can't see anything just feel. The inside has few minor dings from use. All in all these are wonderful my mom had these for many many years and she bought them t an auction 11" high x 5" square. Maker is unknown.

We are not exactly sure what they were used for so we took many photos so that you will know exactly what you will be getting. They are all round on the front. But have flat backs. The blue glass is uneven and has inclusions and bubbles. The tops are rough as you can see. Other than the roughness at the tops. I don't see any other chips, cracks or repairs. They are about 5&1/8 inches tall and have an impressed eagle on the front. The purple glass is thicker and I have shown how the light shines through it. Measures about 5&1/8 inches tall and the top is a little rough. But it looks more polished. This glass is also uneven with sediment and bubbles. Quite the conversation pieces. You won't find these at Ross. Great for the Doctor or Gynecologist in your life. One jar once contained LIMAT: FERR: The other G: R: BENZOE believed to be a scented bark. The very heavy ornate brass bases are in wonderful condition. Jars are made of fine Porcelain. most likely from France. French. I plugged them in and they both work fine. One lamp has a very long 20+ foot cord and the other has a 12-15 foot cord. No shades and No finials. The harps are on them. They could be tightened at the base but not necessary. These lamps are made of the larger jars. Including the decorative base. You are bidding on a Vintage Antique 3 Piece Blown Glass Apothecary Bottle in Excellent Condition with no chips or cracks. The one picture shows what looks like a crack. But is actually the seam where the glass was wrapped around. The bottom piece is 6" across at the base, 9" at its widest and 19 1/4" tall. The middle is 4" wide and 10 1/2" tall. The top is 1 3/4" wide and 4 1/2" tall. The entire piece stands 31 1/2" tall. Since this item is so old and very fragile I will only ship insured.
