Walrus, seal or just plain old cowhide, but this well worn bag belongs up on the wall at your sports bar. It has a light colored leather interior with loops which held their instruments and cigarettes. The hardware is all functional, if that's what you are looking for. Antique 1921 Leather Doctor's Bag
This is a beauty of a doctor's bag. It has the patent date on the clip(may be viewable in the pictures. But it's pretty small) Nov. 15. 21. Which makes this baby about 91 years old. So, considering that, and the fragile nature of good leather, this bag is in astounding condition. There's some discoloration, as would be expected, but the leather is still flexible. When one opens the snap-top of the bag, it opens wide and easily. There's a hole in one of the corners of the bag from usage wear. The bag is about 20" at its longest, 9" wide, and 9 1/2" deep inside, so there's plenty of room for a collection of antique tools or what have you. Vintage Schell Emdee Leather Country Doctor's Medical Housecall Bag Satchel This is a rare cicra 1950- circa- 1960's Schell Emdee Cowhide Leather Doctor's Medical Bag that came from an estate of an M.D. in the Seattle area of Washington State. It is large and fairly heavy. You can tell it is made of the best leather. It is marked on the bottom Schell along with the Emdee brass plate near the handle. The brass clasp works, the handles are intact. and very The interior looks very good and the compartments are good. Although the insides has a few spills and stains you'd expect from a working doctors bag(see photos) It has scuffs consistent with use that add character to the bag and give it a nice vintage look. C2506. these saddle bags are dated and they are also stamped-Stephens Patent. Geo. K. Hopkins& Co. June 30, 1885, Sole Agents, St. Louis, Mo. there are 24 bottles, there are 7 bottles with orig. paper labels with medical names. I can read a few of them-Zinc, Iodine, Chloriform, and others that I am not sure of the spellings. there are two sizes of bottles-15 large bottles about 3" tall and 9 small bottles about 2 1/2" tall. both original front turn closures work well. the bags have seperated into two seperate bags-one bag has the long leather piece from when they were connected and the other bag does not. the leather is in reasonable but worn& used condition. the original tin/metal liner is in the worst condition of the lot and some of it is missing and some is flaking off. the bottles are in good condition about 9 or so ... moreof them have easily removable corks and some are missing their cork stoppers and a few of them have small chips but most are in very good undamaged condition. I have never washed the bottles out because I thought that a chemist or doctor or research person might could use todays technology to find out what's in the bottles. the bottles fit with the larger ones on the bottom drawer and the small ones on the top drawer. the top drawers fold outward and downward to expose the top and bottom drawers at the same time. they both work. thank you for looking and please visit all my collectibles and antiques in my store and at auction. Up until 50 years ago or so it was standard practice for doctors to make housecalls- and they needed a go-to bag similar to any other workman- to carry as much as possible in the most compact manner. This is a KRUSE pig skin Doctors Bad in as found condition. This bag is in the perfect condition for decorating or use if you choose to use it. I do have a couple more I use to carry my guns and ammo in. I have had this one in my living room for decoration for a while so I'm changing things up some. The bottom is stamped with a 16 on one side of the bottom. A 52 on the other side and KRUSE Warranted Pig Skin in the middle of the bottom. This Bag had been used with the doctors name stamped on it and I believe it is made from Elephant and not cow leather by the texture of the leather. It is in excellent condition with no rips or tears on the exterior with only the doctors name scuffed off the side and some light scuffing on the bottom. This is a neat old leather bag. It is almost 12" tall. 16" wide, and 6" thick at widest point. It is monogrammed on the front"G. H. GORDON. JR. I do not have a key for the clasp. But it opens and closes easily with a sliding mechanism. Also, the clasp is adjustable. It can be latched in three different positions. It is stamped in the bottom: SEGESSMAN LEATHER PRODUCTS. INC. CHICAGO. TOP GRAIN COWHIDE. 35509. It is in overall very good condition. There are several scuff marks. I tried to capture the worst of these in my photos. This bag is not lined on the inside. Vintage brown leather doctor's bag, no reserve
This is a nice. Old leather doctor's bag. The leather is soft, handles solid, and hinges working fine. I wish it would stand up for the pictures, but it's been store bent over for so long it won't. Because the leather is still so soft and pliable, if it was stuffed with paper for a while it would regain its posture. There is a light stain on the bottom, but that adds to the mystery. I have never used cleaners on any part of it. This is a good, solid find. Thank You for your interest.

This medical bag is in very good condition for it's age. Would make a nice bag for your collection. One large side pocket inside the case, has pill bottle holders with leather strap to hold bottle's snug and tight. Also has what I believe to be holders for syringe needles which also has leather pull strap to hold those snug and tight. It's a big bag has plenty of room for medicine accessories, etc. See photos. There is no key but the latch shuts and releases with the button, no problem there. Up for auction is an antique doctor's medical travel bag. The bag is marked 18 4664 Genuine Cowhide on the bottom. The case is in overall good condition. There is wear to the leather on the folds as you would expect. All of the brass latches work. The inside needs a cleaning, but the bag is nice and solid.
