The doctor's name imprinted in gold letters is Peter Kurilecz. Jr. M.D. and most likely was given to him by the Eli Lilly Company as it was akin to do for graduating medical students of that period. The bag is in especially nice condition for its age noting one irregularity; a 2" abraded area of the handle on the back of the bag can be seen with scrutiny at the attachment point(last photo) It's not even noticed without looking specifically at that area. The leather is excellent. The brass hardware is slightly tarnished but has not been polished, the snap closes and releases satisfactorily, the handles are tight and secure, and the bag will open and stay open on its own. There are no stains or smells. It measures approximately 13-1/2" x 6" x 6" There are several medical items with the bag. Some of which are a disposable vaginal speculum, otoscope, anuscope, pinwheel, aspiration syringe, hypodermic syringe, hemostats, scissors, needle holder, towel clamp, tweezers, gauze sponges, and boxes of medications which are empty. I didn’t do that, and I’ll bet you didn’t either, but this 70-year-old doctor’s bag did. It was made in Cincinnati, and that’s where I found it. Now I don’t know where it’s actually been. Of course, but something tells me it has remained in such nice shape because it was happy in Ohio. It is 16 ½” by 8 ½” by 13” tall. Not counting the handles. It weighs 7 lbs. empty– no tools, no dope, no shot needles. When I rescued it. It was covered with dust, but it was stored properly otherwise. The leather is as strong and supple as ever. You’ll note some scuffing here and there but nothing I’d call damage. I just wiped it down. If you want to touch it up a little. It will be good as new. Actually, I wouldn’t do a thing. Fiddling with old things can knock the charm right off. I don’t have a key. But the latch works perfectly. It snaps closed easily and opens with gusto. Lots more pictures follow. Vintage Large Genuine Seal Crown Crest Medical /Sachel Bag With Initials
I recently purchased this item from an Estate Sale. I was absolutely intrigued by its uniqueness. It is a Genuine Seal Medical/Sachel Bag with handle and zipper. The bag also at one time locked. I do not have a key. It has the initials G.E. on the front and inside has 5 separate pouches on one side and a long pouch/compartment on the other. The inside definitely shows its age but seems to be intact. A lot like me! The outside of the bag has quite a bit of wear also. It could use a good cleaning but I'm not quite sure of the products to use without damaging the piece. The zipper on the bag reads Crown on one part and on the other has the words Crest NY. There is about 2&1/2" of stitching missing were the lock is located. The original lock is seen however it is in the locked position which keeps the bag from shutting. The lock is without a key. Great Vintage Endee Schell Medical Bag in great re-conditioned shape in solid leather measuring 15" x 7" x 10" inches. I believe they called this a model 63. Van Goor's Medical Charts. With some staining and a few wrinkles, but very complete, super tough, in Dutch I believe, and really cool. The one to the left in the picture(full body) measures 52 1/2" Inches Long and 34 1/2" Inches Wide and the other chart of body parts measures 4' Feet Long and 34" Inches Wide. Welch Medical Mannequin with removable magnetic body parts(missing kidney) A Very rare piece that is not easily found. Approximately 18" inches Tall. Very clean back, bottom is in great condition with no chips(stands tall and solid) Body parts(as seen in photos are a little rough from use, one hole in right lung and some chips) but overall ... moreare super cool piece of vintage medical history, and the magnetics hold in the body parts well(including a half of brain) that I could use myself! VINTAGE 1920'S EMDEE SCHELL DOCTORS BAG WITH ALL CONTENTS FROM 1950'S AND 1960'S This is an antique vintage doctors medical bag"Emdee by Schell" The clasp on the top rotates to latch but does not lock closed. Overall in very nice condition with normal wear for a piece of this age. The inside does show slight peeling of the fabric on under the compartments. The two top leather handles are in very nice solid condition. The two sides of the bag open and rotate to revel two compartments each with a top flap that buttons it closed. Both flaps and buttons are in good working condition. The bag measures 17 inches long. 12 inches high, and 8 inches deep. The bottom of the bag has nine metal knobs to help protect the bottom side. This Bag had been used with the doctors name stamped on it and I believe it is made from Elephant and not cow leather by the texture of the leather. It is in excellent condition with no rips or tears on the exterior with only the doctors name scuffed off the side and some light scuffing on the bottom. Rugged. Double-handled bag from early 1900's. Elephant hide has great definition and condition is consistent with age and use. Metal structure which reinforces bag structure is intact. 2 brass buckles and brass metal clasp, no key. Some scuffs on corners and one strap is missing. Leather handles overlay metal, and where handles attach to bag there is wear from use. Exterior is in good condition. Top opens fully and remains open. Here is a wonderful old box that originally held a Goodyear Fountain Syringe# 2. It is 8 12" x 5 1/2 x 2 1/2" It has a name stamped on the back of Chas.Tollner. It has a small place on the back where a piece of wood broke off and one of the hinges has lost a couple of nails and has been moved over slightly from its original position. One large side pocket inside the case, has pill bottle holders with leather strap to hold bottle's snug and tight. VINTAGE DOCTOR’S BAG Acquired at an estate sale is this vintage doctor’s black leather medical bag. There is an adjustable working clasp– sorry no key for the lock on the clasp. Very cool vintage soft leather with drooping. Patina and wear points. All stitching appears to be intact. While there are plenty of wear points and areas there are no apparent holes. Tears or rips. Closed the bag measures about 8 inches tall(11 inches with handles standing up) 16 ½ inches long and 6 inches across the base but because of the bulging of the bag it is more like 9 ½ inches wide. When the bag is open it measures about 9 inches tall and the opening measures 8 inches by 13 ½ inches. The hinges are intact and secure. The bag remains open and free standing. This is a Schell vintage Doctors Bag in excellant condition shows its wear on the clasp and rings that hold the handles but looks brand new inside as you can see with the picture. The little leather cases hold what would have been pills or other medicine and have a thermoniter and spoon. It also has some bandaides and gause that is in the brown case. The one picture that shows a tan piece is attached inside the case. Not sure what for though. All and all a really nice vintage leather doctors bag. Locking brass closure(key is missing) metal feet, interior hinges that enable the bag to open wide revealing compartments with snap closings on either side and a wide flat bottom. This bag was repurposed by a physician to house his Hasselblad camera and accessories that I recently listed. I really don't know too much about this bag. It is styled in the classic doctors bag fashion. But the cloth insert looks to be like something a women would use. But it may just have been the taste of that doctor. Not sure what is made of. From a tear on the seam of the fabric I can tell it was insulated by a brittle type of thick cardboard. The outside is tough, has some bends, a part of the seem is beginning to seperate from the top metal frame. Has both clasp and is a pretty cool piece, but it does have some wear it accumulated over its years of travel. You can see a small place where the doctor once did a stitch repair, pretty cool. DOCTORS MEDICAL BAG LEATHER WITH CLOTH LINER WORKING CLASP EARLY 1900's VINTAGE
This is a wonderful vintage medical collectible. It is a doctors medical bag. It is made of leather with a leather handle. The four bottom corners are reinforced with leather. It has three metal lock-in clasp at the top of the bag. The two outer clasps push outward to unlock. The center clasp pushes toward the right to unlock the clasp. The interior has the complete cloth printed material liner. The liner has two pouches( one with working metal snap button) The other pouch never had a snap. The liner is in very good condition with some spots. We did not attempt to clean. The leather exterior is complete with wear but no holes in it. The leather handle has a fair amount of wear but is not broken and works. The clasps all work well. The bottom of the bag has metal pegs on each corner to protect the leather when set down. It measures 15 inches ... moretall to the top of the handle.18 1/2 inches long and 10 inches wide. We believe it dates from the early 1900's.

VINTAGE SCHELL BLACK LEATHER TOP GRAIN COWHIDE DOCTOR'S MEDICAL BAG SATCHEL LOOK
MAKE IT YOUR OWN MEDICAL BAG. SATCHEL OR PERSONAL CASE- NO IMPRINTED NAME. Up for auction is a fabulous vintage black Doctor's medical bag satchel with two strong leather handles(all stitching perfect on handles and case) There are four perfect gold brass rings attached to the handles, then the loops in the special reinforced holders to the case. The leather on side of handle has slight wear, the medical bag, satchel is made of black leather textured top grain cowhide by Schell. See label and imprints on bottom) The gold metal brass latch is not marked and does show some discoloration, missing key. The two piece latch works in the three areas provided for as seen in picture. The inside lining is a dark gray and seems to be a durable heavy material. NO STAINS, MARKS OR USE INSIDE. The case doesn't appear to have been used, if it was- ... moreminimal. When opened, one side near the bottom has a low enclosure with open bottom into case, the other side, a large compartment, the width of the medical bag satchel. Securing the bag from one side to the other is an adjustable leather strap, approx. 2-1/4"W. See picture showing inside of strap is not perfect. This doctor's medical bag. Satchel is in great condition for it's age, again, I would say never used or if was, not more than a couple of times. I have not cleaned, appears to be dust in crevices, I'm leaving it as is and won't touch. No damage to outside as I see, very minimal if any, I'm very critical when listing- NO SURPRISES. Very slight scuffing from sitting on small metal feet, corners or rim bottom from being moved or bumped into things. Impressed on the bottom is Schell, on a tiny clear oval label is Top Grain Cowhide Backed And Lined With Other Material, then numbers 729-20, under that number 16. I have no idea how old this medical bag or satchel is, finding a bag in this condition for it's age is unbelievable and rare. Had to list pre-30s, no other choice. Antique vintage primitive wood medical doctor box bag, sign, vials, blade, tools
Up for auction to U.S. customers only is some old medical memorabilia. Apparently from two different doctors. Included is a black wood box with bottles, vials, tools, blades(for scalpels, I think) catgut, needles, and a variety of tools- I can't be sure but I think most are incomplete. Check out the pictures. There's an MD medallion; I guess it could have been used on the doctor's vehicle. And there's a wooden sign in the shape of a doctor's bag which apparently was nailed somewhere on or in the office. Although these were together at the estate sale there are two different doctor's names- Baldi on the sign and Bennett on the box. I have no history on these pieces so it could be they were partners, one took over the other's practice, or these items were part of a bigger medical collection- take your choice. The ... moresign is 13 x 10 inches and the box is 13 x 7 x 5 inches closed. The box is worn, the handle taped and part of the finish is crackled; the sign has two nail holes. Altogether this is an interesting assortment to add to your collection or just for an unusual display. I don't know anything else about this item so please ask questions. Included in this lot is a Classic Vintage Doctor's/Medical Bag. Made by Eli Lilly. Underside of latch is marked Swiss made. From what I have researched these bags were apparently given to graduating M.D.s embossed with their name in gold lettering. This one is embossed w/ the name Chuen Tat Wong, M.D. Not exactly sure of date but would guess it's from the 50's given the age of the man I received it from. Comes with everything in pictures. I will try an describe everything to the best of my knowledge. There is a stainless steel Vollrath jar(marked w/ light engraving anesthesia dept. what I believe is Chinese Electroacupuntcure machine along w/ empty acupuncture tubes, little box of acupuncture needles(has 1 new pack in it) There is a Lilly brand medical tuning fork, a Grafco reflex hammer, and what appears to be a valve for anesthesia ... moreequipment. Vintage 1950s Black Leather Medical Doctor Bag Satchel
This Vintage 1950s Black Leather Medical Doctor Bag Satchel is a large size. But sturdy and easy to carry. There are several scuffs and scratches on the leather and the stitching around the hinges is loose in a couple of spots(see photos) The handles have been reattached and stitched with additional leather and hardware, but are both very sturdy and in good working condition. This Vintage 1950s Black Leather Medical Doctor Bag Satchel measures approximately 18" L x 9" D x 11" H(bag only) and 14" H(bag with handles extended) The satchel is in good vintage condition.
