The nose pieces or clips appear to have had some type of pad at one time that has deteriorated or been removed. The hinge/ spring still is functional. The lenses are of an oval shape– 1 ½” x 1 ¼. The left lens has a chip out of the lower edge toward the outside and a spot of glue or something about 1/8” above the bottom edge at the middle of the lens. The glasses are an overall width of approximately 4. The metal case appears well-used. It is lined with velvet which is still mostly intact. The exterior appears rusted in places and was perhaps once painted black– there is evidence of black under the edge of the front where the cover overlaps. The spring mechanism still works fine. Overall. The case measures approximately 4 ½” x 1 5/8. If you purchase more than one item from my auctions. I will gladly send a revised invoice to combine shipping if it will save you money. The mirrors are soldered together to form a triangle which is open at both ends. When looking through it a prismatic effect creates various views to the sides of what is seen directly through it. Antique Chambers. Inskeep& Co. Chicago Optical Optometrist Lens Kit Description This auction is for a very neat antique optical lens kit. The wooden box is marked Chambers. Inskeep& Co. of Chicago which was founded in 1889 and was operated by Dr. Chambers until 1904 when it was sold; making this a very old turn of the century lens kit with the original lined box. The kit contains 197 test lenses; the concave are gold-toned and the convex are silver-toned. There are also 10 prism lenses included in graduated sizes as pictured. There are a few colored or hued lenses as well as several that have only small slits or holes. Also included are several larger lenses with no frames and 2 magnifying objects of some type. 2 of the spare lenses come with small paper envelopes. The wooden box measures 22" x 13.5" and has working mechanical ... morelatches. The latches alone are amazing. With small push buttons that release the clasps. The box is lined with a blue felt like material that is free of tears. Each area is marked with the type of lens it contains. There is a split on the top of the box as pictured and the material that covered the outside, bottom is peeling or gone in some spots. This is a great. Early piece. 1895 antique optical stereoscopic viewer for 3-D photograph stereoview imaging
During the mid 1800's a photographic technique was developed so a photograph could be viewed with 3-D qualities to the image and hence the stereoscopic viewer was developed. The procedure was to take a photograph of the subject from two slightly different angles then mount the two seperate images to a piece of cardboard and then place it into a viewer designed with special glass lenses then adjust the distance of the stereoview until it came into focus resulting in a 3-dimensional image to the human eye. Up for auction is this old A rmy S pectacle Depot eye test kit and test spectacles. It is contained in its original wooden case lined in velvet. It has lots of lenses to establish what kind of spectacles you ne eded. It also has the test spectacles to hold the trial lenses while testing. They are marked Cle ment Clarke. This is from the decade of World War 1 England. Circa 1910-1920, and the title of course refers to the English Army. The outside of the case is marked with the name and number 610 and an arrow symbol. The case is still tight and closes nicely. T here is no key for the lock. The top lining is nicely done. But I don't know if it is original. The case measures 21 1/4" by 12 1/2" by 2 1/2" and weighs 11 pounds. It looks to be complete with the exception of one lens. And I’m going to sneak out to a barn sale today- so wish me luck, I’m sure it will be a cccchhhilllling experience at minimum! I’ve got lots of primitives this week for you- antique and charming, as well as advertising, artwork, material- there’s something for everyone! Here's a neat old wood slide top box that once belonged to. Uhlemann Optical Co. Manufacturing Opticians, P.O. Drawer 832, Chicago ILL. Never heard of a Post Office Drawer! This is a small box that measures 5 5/8" by 2 3/8" and 1 5/8" tall. It's fairly light, at a smidge under 1/4 lb. In addition to the print in black on the lid, you can see that someone hand wrote the word"Fragile" in pencil on the bottom of the box. The ... morebox is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. There's two small nicks right at the top edge on both sides where the slide top goes in- I'm showing the larger of the two in photo 5- it's 1/2" long and just like the one on the other side, very shallow. It also does not interfere with the functionality of the slide top- it works well and stays put as it should. The unfinished wood is dark from age, and it's rustic, with nicks, scratches, scrapes, dark spots and light spots- all part of its story. It's a neat old optical advertising piece. For your consideration from a smoke free estate. A truly wonderful piece of vintage optical equipment. I am going to do my best to describe this antique brass microscope. But as I am not an expert by any means in this area please forgive any incorrect terminolgy. Any questions or information is all welcomed and appreciated. This microscope is made of brass and black metal. All we have done is to dust this piece. So the brass. Although warm appears scratched. It looks really retro as it is. But I would think if you wanted to use it you would need to shine it up. I leave the cleaning of these valuable older treasures to the experts. The base is black and measures 5 1/2" longest) 3 3/4" widest) Base does have minimal surface rust(photo 7) and a screw that does turn. I think this screw may tighten the base into place. Back of base has ... morea round metal plate that I think is brass. It reads: Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. New York City. The Bausch is a little hard to read. The mirror rotates and swings freely. The mirror measures 1 3/4" across. The metal around one side of the the mirror has some age rust(photo 7) One side of the mirror magnifies the other is just regular mirror. The mirror side that does not magnify has some silver loss around the edge(see photo 7) this does not seem to effect the visiblity. The mirror will be removed for shipping as to decrease the risk of breakage. The area that holds the slides is black, the two slide holders are intact with good movement and I think they are brass. The opening in slide stage is 1/2" The underside of the slide plate has a circular dial I believe brass piece. This circular dial has 4 holes, I think they are used to regulate the light that reaches the mirror. This dial moves freely and the largest opening measures 1/2" across. The microscope raises up and down without problems but may need to be lubricated. At the tallest it is 14" retracted 11" The piece closest to the slide stage is marked: Bausch& Lomb 16 mm 0.25 N.A. T

TRUE VINTAGE AMERICAN OPTICAL WORTH BLACK AMBLYOSCOPE ANTIQUE MEDICAL DEVICE
Offered is a True Vintage Early 1900’s Amblyoscope Antique Ophthalmology Medical Device In The Original Box. For display purposes. The box measures approx. 7 1/8” by 6 5/8” and the set is relatively lightweight, so a glass display shelf would seem sufficient if desired. The instrument is in good vintage condition with no broken components. The box is intact but shows signs of age and wear. Consistent with that of 90 to 100+ year old antique cardboard display boxes. There are two sets of viewing slides with this Amblyoscope. One set appears to be parchment paper. The other set appears to be celluloid or other sturdy material. Some of the slides appear to be machine printed and others appear to be hand drawn and colored. This device was believed useful in assessing a patient’s peripheral vision. Slides were inserted on the end of the scope ... moreand the patient would view through the lenses. The scope was adjusted inward and outward bringing the two slides to a complete picture. A gauge on top measured the level of the patients peripheral vision. For example. I inserted a slide of a boy on one end and a dog on the other. As the scope is adjusted, the dog goes to meet and stand beside his owner. Pretty cool! A nice and quite rare antique medical device to compliment any collection or medical office décor. A great unique gift idea as well! This instrument is from a local estate and was part of an enormous collection(1000’s of items) that was acquired over a 79 year period. The collector was a third generation physician. And began collecting at age 10. He recently expired at age 89. There are other items from this estate listed as well. American Optical Co lenses and cards kit. Made of leather bound wood. It's 10" x 6" x 2 3/8" Has 39 lenses and a tool that fits in a slot near front latch-see lower right 2nd photo. A panel unbuttons in upper lid to expose a storage space for cards and spare parts- see 3rd photo. Along with cards(see last photos) there are two wax paper envelopes holding spare parts. The leather on top of case is in good shape, but the thinner leather around the sides of kit have deterioration. Appling mink oil has stopped this deterioation in its tracks. It says"American Standard" on the label on the inside cover of the case. It is difficult to see but in the 8th photo it says"A. O. Co. on a thin silver plaque near the bottom of the case. The on/off switch works.Motor specs. are/ volts, 115/amp, 1.7/ duty, cont/ ph,1/ hp 1/20/ rpm,1750/cycle60/ temp rise 40/ no. 4341210/ type NSI-33. Of course you can see that it needs a new belt. All of the parts are moveing, that is, not frozen. It needs cleaned real bad. All the parts are securely mounted on a board with rubber feet under it. There is a three prong plug on it. An antique or vintage machinist or specialty wooden case with 5 d rawers in original finish with Ea gle Lock Co lock. The case. 14 1/2" wide by 12 1/2" high and 12" deep, is in nice, original, mahogany-color finish.I'm not sure of t he wood but I would guess birch veneer. it is in excellent condition with two small veneer repairs on the bottom corners and a tape mark on the top running down about 2" And weighs just over 13 lbs. It is dovetailed on the outside with nickel plated corner mounts. A drop front that can slide back into the bottom with 5 interior drawers(2 large and 3 smaller) measuring 1 1/2" and 1 3/4" deep.there is an open space on the left of the case that may have had a small microscope or instrument. I haven't done a lot of research on the case and I'm sure that there is someone out ... morethere that would venture an opinion. The handle has some leather missing with metal exposed and I toyed with the idea of taking the leather completely off but will leave it to the buyer. The corner mounts all have good plating with the exception of the upper right that has part of the plating deteriorated. There is a round. Nickel plated handle on the side that recedes back into the receiver.don't know the use for it. I don't have the key and you can assume that I won't be able to find it, although I will be looking.the number on the lock is A9W09, The Eagle Lock Co Terryville, Conn. Antique 1930's Stereo Orthoptor American Optical Co Model 1327 Rare Medical
Up for sale is an original antique 1930's Stereo Orthoptor Manufactured by The American Optical Company Model number 1327 with a serial of D2432. This is an extremely rare medical piece and probably the only one you will be able to find for sale PERIOD. Originally this device would be used to correct lazy eye. And fix a few other eye muscle problems through exercises. The chin piece is attached to a piston that moves up and down to adjust for the persons head size. Mirrors inside move along several axis' to project images to the viewer. There are roughly at least a dozen more adjustments that can be done etc. This is a very heavy substantial piece with multiple controls and adjustments. Haven't put it on a scale but in the 60lb+ range easy. All steel and chrome. The original black paint doesnt seem to have any scratches or flaws ... moreout of line for its age and it appears to have been used very little. Should clean up nicely but my thing with antiques is to leave them alone and sell as is. Everything seems to work including the lights, mirror adjustments etc. except for one minor thing. The removeable projectors have plugs that can plug into the machine itself. One of the plugs on the back of the machine doesnt carry any current BUT the side projectors both work and the one on the side with the faulty back outlet can be plugged in directly. Probably a simple fix, but I haven't looked into it. Heck we didnt even wipe it down yet as it was fairly clean when purchased. We plugged the machine in and it works, every hydraulic/moving piece functions. The pieces that go in the side projectors which look like small stained glass images on a rod(similar to a big lolipop) we only have ONE. I have seen images on some chinese websites of these pieces so they are probably in use in the orient somewhere and available. In summary you are buying the machine with both removeable side projectors and one glass slide for it. Shipping on this item is absolutely free. Please understand that we do not ship internationally. Up for bid are seven antique optical trial lenses from the late 1800's or early 1900's. These lenses were originally used by an optometrist to examine eyes. Now they are very useful for all types of altered art. They measure 37mm in diameter including the rim. Slightly larger than a half dollar. These hundred-year-old lenses are in very nice condition. The metal rims have nice patina. Four are silver tone and three are gold(brass) tone. The clear glass lenses are in very good condition having no chips and only barely visible scratches. Now they are very useful for all types of altered art. Each of the four lenses has a different style tab. They measure 37mm in diameter including the rim. Slightly larger than a half dollar. These hundred-year-old lenses are in very nice condition. The lenses have no chips and only barely visible hairline scratches. For your consideration is an antique DeZeng Opthalmoscope cased set. The main piece is marked DeZeng Standard Co. Makers Camden. NJ Patented Aug. 5, 1903. This tool accepts two"D" batteries; has been tested and is in working condition. There are two bulbs included, one of which has a broken filament, the other is working. Two different pieces that attach to the scope handle are also included. Comes in original velvet-lined case. The lid has completely separated from the base. Case measures 7.5" long by 3" wide by 2" tall. This is a great example of a quality made Opthalmoscope to be show-cased in your collection, considering its age and use. Nice Antique Vintage Early 1900's bausch & Lomb Optical Co. Microscope Wood Case

Questions encouraged.I do not see any cracked lenses and the mirror is not cracked on either side. All lenses are clear but one has a hair or something inside of it which I think you can see in the pictures. All of the knobs work smoothly. The paint is worn where you would place the slide and it looks rusty but it may be the base coat of paint as the finish is nice and smooth. It comes with the extra lenses as shown. About 1 1/4” inch of the ear clasp on the left is broken off. The leather case is very hick and sturdy. With some nicks in the leather.
