Antique Vintage Comfortable Old Adjustable Reclining Barber Dentist Dental Chair
Antique Vintage Copper-Plated Barber Dentist Man-Cave Adjustable Reclining Chair This is truly a one of a kind piece! About 20 years ago this piece was purchased at an antique store and the owner restored it by having it cooper plated and reupholstered with a cool looking copper colored velvet or velour fabric. Very different indeed. During the restoration. The hydraulics were removed from the chair so there would be no chance of any oil leaking from anywhere at any time. This ensured the chair would be leak-proof and would never have any oil leaking on his carpet and he wouldn’t end up in the dog house. He also had the turning mechanism stopped so his grandchildren would not get their fingers pinched in the spinning of the chair. These features can be restored by the new owner if he or she chooses at some time in the future, but for now ... morethe chair does not raise and lower nor will it spin. The back of the chair as well as the headrest are fully adjustable. The back reclining angle is controlled by a ratchet type mechanism very much like the old style lawn chairs. You lift the brace, select the angle you want to be in and put the brace back in the lock and voila, gravity and pressure does the rest. The neck/headrest can be adjusted up and down as well as forward and back by the use of two oversized wingnut type fasteners. Just adjust the angle and height of the headrest to your perfect relaxing fit and presto, instant comfy chair for a nap or to watch the game in. Another one of my estate sale Relics. The stool is in good working condition.And is made from cast iron,and twisted heavy metal wire. I'm not sure what occupation might have used the stool. It appears to be from the late 1800's to the early 1920's,not sure. The stool has a threaded rod that runs thru the center of the ornate cast iron. The rod raises and lowers the seat to the desired height. The piece measures 18in tall x 18in wide x 18 in wide,and you can adjust it to a height of approx 22 + inches. The piece is heavy. The lift works but you need to help it with your hand. i think the hydraulics need to be bleed out or the oil changed but i'm not sure of it. The seat cushion has been changed and it's missing the one arm rest. A nice set could be made out of oak or walnut wood to give it a nice look. It tilts back and is pretty cool. This is heavy and I have no way to lift it in a truck. A trailer with a tilt ramp would work good as it can be slid around or up the ramp to load it. Cast Iron EARLY Dentist Chair! Adjustable Gears! Antique Steampunk industrial
Up for sale is this unbelievable very early dental chair. Probably from right around the turn of the century. The chair is incredibly heavy and solid. The adjustment gears still work and the seat can go from 90 deg to all the way back where your feet will be above your head. The metal has a beautiful patina with some paint. There is a base foot attachment that connects and has an SWS monogram. Everything is cast iron except of the two round knobs on the back, the floor board of the footrest, and the seats The uphosltry is in VERY rough condition. The leather seat is essentially wrecked and there is a hole in the back rest. The head rest leather is pretty good. The gears which control the height of the head rest are tight. they may loosen with some WD40. But I didn't want to change the chair at all. The floor board of the footrest is wood ... morecovered with some material. that material is pretty chewed up and definitely got wet at some point. The wood still looks good. The hydraulic lift makes noise and is free, but I can't seem to get the chair to go down to it's lowest height. There are two detachable arms, one is broken at the attachment point and to be fixed would need to be welded back together. This chair is gorgeous and very early. It's in rough condition. Thus the price, but simply replacing the leather would make the chair useable and a great addition to your home. This cannot be shipped. it probably weighs around 200-250 lbs. Leather is worn, but there are no holes or rips. Chair reclines, but have not checked the hight adjustment. Civil War Era Antique Walker Browne Oak Portable Dentist Chair 1882 Barber Koken
The Skeleton Key is very proud to offer for sale an original 1882 Walker Browne Portable Dentist Chair made by the Walker Browne Dental Company. This chair was made for the traveling dentist and was carried from town to town in a horse and carriage. Chair is in exceptional condition with minor nicks and scratches here and there. There is one repair that I can see on the left where the recline bar adjustment attaches to the back rest. A dowel was placed in the screw hole for reinforcement. It has no breaks or cracks. All original hand forged iron bolts. Nuts and hardware. Not sure if leather seat is a replacement and if so how long ago it was done. Has wrinkles from use so, not really sure. Velvet on head rest is in pristine condition with some light wear on the lower right and left area. Two versions of the chair were available, the plain ... moreoak version and the antique oak version with metal parts. This is the antique oak version. I sat on it(130 lbs) and it was solid as a rock All I did was bring the wood back to life with some orange oil polish. Please see the old tin type I found of the chair in use and two old newspaper advertisements for the chair as well. I have done extensive research on this chair and cannot find another example anywhere in any other shop or site. Not even at the Dental Museum in South Carolina. They have two similar examples in their collection, but not the Walker Browne. The first technologically driven barber chair was patented by Koken in 1878, this chair has a patent date of 1882 so it is a very early example of very innovative designs and engineering including 7 different levels of height adjustment, three angles of reclining, adjustable head and foot rest, and of course the ability to fold up. This I'm guessing was a base for Dentist Chair or a Barber Chair. I owned it for 15 years and for 10 years the foot pump worked then I moved it and oil spilled out- Now the foot pump does not work. If you brought the correct oil and filled it it would work perfectly guaranteed or you money back. Slight pitting in chrome. No dents. Paint is great. Very heavy 250 pounds I'm guessing. Early to mid 1900's Chrome is in pretty nice shape I did not clean it for photo.

Antique Vintage Dentist Chair and Equipment
The former owner of my home was a retired dentist who practiced from 1929-1980. And when he remodeled his dental offices in the 1950's or 60's he brought this equipement home to his basement. According to his wife, he set the lab up in the basement and used to work on his friend's teeth during their game nights. My son has turned the drills on, air compressor, overhead light and run the electric motor driven hydraulic chair up and down. An 80 year old retired dentist friend of ours says he feels the equipment dates to the 1940's with the chair possibly being much older as the latest patent date says"1926" on the stand. Chairs leather is possibly original in great condition with no cracks or tears. All of the equipment is Ritter and still has tags, faceplates, serial numbers etc. x/ray unit is"Victor" It ... moreis dusty and aged. The basement is dry and was"finished" with knotty pine paneling and floor tile in the 1950's so the equipmet has had good living conditions. If you purchase it you will have to remove it from my basement. This would be a perfect project for"Rick's American Restoration's" A good find for a dental school display, museum, eccentric homeowner etc.

I've had this chair for ~20yrs. Now it's time for someone else to enjoy it. When I bought it the dealer said it was a barbers chair, I've had others look at it and suggest dentist, doctor, or just a recliner. What it is exactly I don't know, but I do know it's cool and very comfie. I did a bit of searching online and it looks like this might be a Charles H. Knight chair with adjustable headrest. Small tag reads Patented Nov. 28. 1905. The head rest is spring-loaded and adjustable. It has a crank with a strap, the purpose is unknown to me. The foot rest pivots and is adjustable. This is a 1907 SS White Dental Chair. It has been Stripped to bare metal and repainted black. Reupholstered in thick black leather. Hydraulics cleaned and fresh oil installed. This listing is for an antique A.S. Aloe dentist chair. This item is in overall nice condition and still fully functional. Original blue paint is nice but does exhibit some light scratches and chips. Chrome is good too but some areas show age and surface rust. Electric light works and cord is still good. Functional chair seat swivels and raises and lowers. Foot activated back rest goes up and down, head rest tilts and raises and lowers Item is heavy and appears to be constructed out of cast iron. Cast aluminum and steel. You are bidding on an antique dentist chair made by the W. D. Allison Company in Indianapolis. Indiana. My best guess for the date of manufacture would be from the 1890s to early 1900s. There is a serial number G725 marked on nameplate. The chair is in very good condition, with only minor nicks and scratches to the wood finish, the black paint is worn off on some of the metal surfaces, and there are no rips or cracks in the leather seat or head-rest. The chair measures 48 inches with head-brace attached and 25 inches wide across the arms. The seat measures 17 inches from the ground at its lowest position and can be raised an additional 5 inches. The head-rest and arms will be removed for shipping but are very easy to reattach. The original seller of this chair claims that this chair was the chair used in the 1995 movie Wild Bill with Jeff Bridges.
