Head-turning design. has some worn spots. but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. ... moreAs you can see. The gown features a sheer black lace overlay accented with bright floral fabric appliqués that circle the bottom third of the skirt. a profusion of tulips in rainbow colors and another flower in deep red(aster? Rhododendron? Then the under layer is a slip style with spaghetti straps. Fabric a satiny blend of manmade fibers. Add a touch of deep red velvet trimming the neckline and slightly puffed sleeves. And you have a classically romantic creation. There are no designer or size labels. But here are flat seam-to-seam measurements to help you decide whether to bid: 34 inch bust; 30 inch waist; 36-38 inch hip; 14 ½ inch shoulders; 10 inch sleeves; 65 inches in length from top of collar in back to hem; no hem allowance. The skirt hangs and moves like it’s cut on the bias. however. It does have side seams. just very skillfully sewn. Also note that neither layer has a zipper. The under slip dress has five snaps and one hook in the left side while the lace layer has six snaps. all securely attached and in working order. None missing. As far as condition. The dress does have some tears in the lace. mostly at the right underarm areas and near the right sleeve seams and shoulder. a much smaller area of tearing in the left underarm. and one small split area in the front of the skirt near the waist. Amazingly. The skirt is almost without problems. only what I’ve described. I’m not sure if these issues can be repaired. maybe if you’re careful and skillful. but even with these tears the dress is a still a stunner! And best of all. Offered at a MODEST RESERVE! This is an insertion lace, meaning that both ... moreedges of the lace are straight and it was meant to be butted up against another piece of fabric or lace. On the edge of the lace(either side) there are tiny threads that can be pulled, when done, this lace can be shaped into ovals, circles, a scalloped hemline or even gathered into a ruffle. This lace has a pretty and delicate pattern, it measures 1/2" wide. When I was ironing this lace, I had sprayed starch on it and when it was damp, it touched another piece of pink fabric. There several spots of pink on this lace. I counted 3 areas of light pink and I've taken a photo of it, so you can assess the damage for yourself. It might wash out, but it might not, that being said there is still plenty of good usable lace here, as there is a total of 11-5/8 un-cut YARDS.that's a lot of lace for your sewing and crafting needs. Over the years this lace has softened to a soft, light beige. This old lace is well over 100 years old and to find this much un-cut yardage is hard to come by. Be sure to view my other lace auctions. VINTAGE ANTIQUE TAMBOUR NEEDLE RUN EMBROIDERY ON NET LACE SHAWL VEIL MANTILLA
Offered for auction today. Is this gorgeous antique lace veil, shawl, or mantilla. It appears to be a needle run embroidery on net type of lace, perhaps Tambour or Honiton. Not sure as this is not my area of expertise. It is a beautiful quality piece measuring about 89" long x 25" wide with a 9 1/2" opening slit halfway down. For the neck perhaps? I estimate that it dates from the late 1800's to early 1900's. The color is ecru or a light tea stained hue likely due to being in storage for many years. The condition is excellent except for several small stains, one larger and one very small. These could likely be removed with proper laundering. I will leave that up to you. I purchased this along with many other fine laces and textiles that I will be listing on ebay this week, all from the same estate. This is a very cute little Young Lady Figurine. Irish Dresden by(MV) Muller Volkstedt. Her name is"Ina" A lot of detail on this figurine and in Great condition, which means: no lace loss, cracks, chips or repairs. Fingers are all intact and I don't see any damage to the flowers in her dress. Her dress is very frilly and in white/cream and pink. Her hair looks to be light brown, little bit of color on her face and has colored lips. She is approximately 3" x 3" Very nice addition for any Dresden collector or the porcelain doll collector. The Irish Dresden stamp is on the bottom of the base, as is the MV, her name, Ireland, and the year 1978. All of this you can see in the pictures posted here. This is a nice vintage Battenburg lace table runner which measures approximately 68" x 15" shown on a 54" sofa table in Pic#1& 2) It is in good condition with the exception of a couple of small spots(rust? shown in Pic# 4& 5. It is from a collection of vintage linens and lace. I am unable to date most of the items. But all are at least 30+ years old and come from a smoke free and pet free home. Vintage Gold Metallic Lace Scalloped w/Gold Metallic Bobbles
Two matching pieces of gold metallic lace. French in origin. I believe the pieces where probably used as a trim around the neck of a dress. One piece has a metal hook at the back. Straight edge along one side with a scalloped edge along the other side. Both pieces have gold metallic thread bobbles at each end. Color is well represented in photos. Measurements One piece measures 29 inches in length and the other piece measures just over 32 inches in length. The width is the same on both pieces and measures 2 inches wide from top to bottom of scallop. Condition Used condition. Both pieces have a seam about 15 inches in from the end without the bobbles. One piece has 9 bobbles while the other piece has only 4 bobbles. You will probably want to iron the lace(from the back) out so that it will lay a bit flatter.
