Linen silk lace jabot(dickey) The first piece in this lot is a beautiful high collar removed from a dress. It is made of ecru-colored lace and the front upper part of the bodice. Made of netted fabric with dots, is still attached. The collar has four splints to keep it standing up, and some of the silk from the original dress is still attached. The circumference of the neck is 13 inches. Next is a jabot. Or dickey, made of particularly fabulous lace. The lace is stitched to a silk placket to be fastened around the neck. The silk is pretty well shot, but the lace appears to be strong and fine; it has been crushed in storage, but it would perk up with a little care, and it is definitely a nice piece of lace. Finally. There is a ... moremuch simpler jabot, not mounted on anything. It is fine linen with inset strip panels of lace. It needs to be pressed, but it seems to be in good condition, and the fabric seems strong.

Greetings, Outstanding hand embroidered antique lace collar for antique dress. Collar measures from wing to bottom 19" 15.5" at widest point top, 13" middle panel. This collar appears white in pictures but is beige. There is a couple places of obvious damage, on lower bottom panel, piece is detached and also on top left and center, a piece of edging is detached. There is one tiny spot as pictured on top but is on back of the collar, I photographed upsidedown I just noticed.lol. There are a couple of places in collar that are coming apart but all can be repaired and pieces are all together! This is one of the prettiest pieces I have seen, so much hand embroidery done! Antique lace collar. Perhaps for a child as it is 5 1/2" long when laid as it would aroung the neck, and each side is approximately 1 3/4" wide at widest end. I believe it to be either Point de Gaze, or Belgian Duchesse Bobbin; made. I don't know much about laces. It is ecru in color and is very, very delicate. It is in PERFECT CONDITION. Antique handmade lace collar--Interesting and varied stitches
This is a very interesting collar that seems to be comprised of tape lace(if it is tape lace it is very fine and narrow) and a potpourri of interesting filling stitches. I have tried to photograph some of them. It is full of diversity. I would say that it is in pretty good condition. There are some broken brides here and there but no gaping holes! It also has some discolouring here and there too and I dared not wash it. The length is 41 inches and the widest part is apx. 5.25 apx. I would say this should be a specimen for admiring as a keepsake-though not to say that it couldn't be worn on a garment with special cleaning and care as lace seems to be quite"in" these days. And where can you find hand made lace on the high street?

The new year began well– I was offered the fabulous contents of a Victorian linen cupboard and a family collection of lace from a local estate. I also acquired lots of new stock from two wonderful antique textile auctions- one in SW England and another in Yorkshire. I am continuing to list these items as soon as I have laundered and inspected them– lace, shawls, Edwardian and Victorian costume etc. Happy browsing! For sale again. Due a buyer failing to pay. her loss is someone else's gain I suppose, though non-paying buyers are a dreadful nuisance! This is a very dainty antique lace dress top. Collar, shoulder capelet or ... morefichu. The tambour lace is gathered on to 3,5cm wide silk ribbon, so I have not laundered this, and it is currently a"tea dyed" dark ivory colour. I can find no damage at all- not even a tiny break in the tambour lace. If you wanted to make this white, I would advise removing the silk ribbon(an easy operation as it is hand sewn) before careful laundering. You could then sew back the ribbon, or replace it with another colour if wished. It is 21cm at the back, and the front lappets are approximately 52cm long from shoulder to end. A lovely lace confection that could have many uses! More photographs below. This is a fabulous antique Irish crochet lace collar. It is from a local estate. The collar is very large. The outside circumference is almost 60" The inside circumference is 16" and it is 9" wide. The detail of the hand work is amazing. We were told by an expert that the lace is not tatted(which we were told) but Irish crochet with dimensional flowers and clovers with picot bar joinings. Who knew? The condition is excellent. There may be minor discoloration. But we really can't see any. There are no tears. It has been kept in perfect shape. This is a neat little cream cotton chemisette with a Carrickmacross guipure lace collar. Some brown storage marks to cotton chemisette. Otherwise excellent condition. Fastens at neck with tiny hand stitched covered button. Cotton tape pulls to fit at waist. Collar is hand stitched to lawn and could easily be removed if desired. Collar neck measures 14.8 ins, back neck to edge 5 ins. This chemisette is from a large collection I bought recently. Which once belonged to the late Pat Earnshaw, lace expert and author of many books on the subject. She has labelled this as dating from 1860. I will be listing more wonderful pieces from the collection in the next few weeks.

DELICATE FEMININE ANTIQUE SILK LACE COLLAR LAPPET FRAGMENT OLD PATINATION
This auction is for a lovely and delicate antique early 1900s silk lace fragment. It has been salvaged from a late teens silk velvet dress in which this was attached to the front portion of the bodice and around neckline. This has the most lovely aged patination creating a wonderful old appearance that can only come with time. It is in wonderful condition aside from the center portion(see Photo 3) Which has a few tears, but this still does not prevent one from using for their project. The underside is shown in Photo 9. There are no tears, rips or stains in the major portion of the lace. It should be noted that the bottom edge still has silk velvet fragments attached by hand-stitching.
