This is a pretty little 1920's boudoir cap made from fine cotton net with a Brussels lace trim. This needs some repair- the elastic running through the edge has lost it's stretch and will need replacing. The silk ribbon casing has shredded and will also need to be replaced.

Beautiful heirloom antique/ vintage Brussels applique lace wedding veil
This is a beautiful Brussels applique lace wedding veil. This was part of a local family lace collection I bought recently and had been worn by members of the family for generations. It had been carefully stored and is in very good condition but was very browned so I have gently washed it in a mild detergent. It is now a soft buttermilk colour. With some of the motifs a slightly darker shade, although this is not very obvious unless viewed closely. Although the net is very fine there are only a handful of tiny holes and one or two breaks to the fine linking threads in the motifs. I have shown one corner in the photographs all 4 corners have exactly the same motifs, with an overall pattern of small flower sprigs and dots. The lace applique is very light, ensuring that the veil itself has a frothy airy quality. It measures 76 inches x 78 ins. ... moreThere is a small hook sewn to one corner, obviously designed to attatch to a headers. I've not tried to remove this.

Beautiful Fine Brussels Lace around the edges and in the Four Corners. Net infill's with Flowers Embroidered on the net. This Handkerchief was probably a Wedding Handkerchief and the centre is made from the Finest Cotton Lawn. There is two flaws in the Lawn that I have noticed. One a pinhead size dot which is on the wrong side which is not visible on the right side, and a fine feint brown line about 1" long, there is a tiny pinhead size wear in this line, a hole in the net in one of the corners and a smaller hole where the Lace has been pulled up on the net in another corner. Wide antique/vintage Brussels net on net appliqué lace flounce - spotted tulips
This is an impressive Brussels wide net on net appliqué lace flounce. With an ornate baroque design of spotted tulips, daffodils and trailing flowers. I'm pretty sure that this has been re-claimed from a dress- although condition is generally good there is some damage to the top straight edge, scatterings of small holes and several neat repairs. Including a small patched area to bottom scallop. Occasionally net is coming away from the tambour edge. This is part of a family collection I bought recently which includes the tambour veil already listed. It measures 34 ins wide. 2 yards 29 inches long.

The quality is distinguishable by its layered bobbin lace rose petal and detailed needle lace work inside the vignette which are pointed out by photographs. The left side has an additonal section added on with a broken bride that is not to be interpreted as a major flaw, an extra piece to attach or not, to the fan stick guard. The outer edge of fan leaf totals 36" the width is 8" length at bottom is 23 1/2" across. The handkerchief is a small masterpiece of point de gaze needlework, and the lace, which is based on an ethereal tulle, and includes minuscule areas of the same transparent batiste, has incredible details and tactility. This antique or vintage lace hanky is in excellent. Possibly never used condition. I found no flaws other than the yellowing. My camera shoots everything paler and cooler than things actually are, so please know that this hanky is a little more yellowed than the photos indicate, and you will no doubt want to launder it. This was found with the other 3 hankies I'll be listing. It is 14" x 14" and the large cloth middle area lawn feels like silk. But it is extremely fine linen or cotton. It is very fine, almost sheer.
