This vintage Grandmothers Flower Garden quilt measures 75" x 82" It is filled with wonderful feedsack prints in an array of colors and patterns. Many pieces are"fussy cut" which showcases the patterns of the fabrics. But is rare because it wasted so much! The colors are vibrant. The trail is white and the binding and backing are pink. It is completely hand quilted at 6-7 stitches per inch. Hand pieced and bound with a 1/4" binding. All cotton. Near mint condition. There are 6 tiny pindot age spots(photo'd) No other damage. ANTIQUE 1930s GRANDMOTHERS FLOWER GARDEN QUILT~1600+ pcs~feedsack to start a new paragraph use- Done in lovely spring colors and trimmed in pink. This circa 1930s Grandmothers Flower Garden quilt seems perfect for the shabby cottage chic decor or for that special little girls room. It's all cotton. Including some feed sack pieces. It has a thin layer of cotton batting. Made up of 1 1/2" hegaxons. This has over 1600 pieces. It's hand quilted at 6 stitches per inch, hand stitched binding Size is 52" x 80"+/ This quilt is much too nice to be called a cutter. But it does have some damage. Of the 1600+ hexagons, there are about 50-60 pieces that are shattered. I think my count is fairly accurate, but I could have missed some, as some of it is hard to see. Four of the flowers have a round that is shattered, particularly the ... moreyellow pieces, plus there are a few pieces in other flowers that are damaged. The binding also shows wear in places. Antique/Vintage Grandmothers Flower Garden Hand Stitched Handmade 82"x80" Quilt
Up fo r auction is this wonderful Vintage/Antique hand stitched/handmade quilt. The quilt is done in the grandmother’s flower garden pattern. It measures 82” by 80” The quilt is in good shape for its age. It does have some wear to the edges that could be rebound and three flower octagon blocks have some wear/damage. The backside is all white. It has a few dark browning spots. Some yellowing at one edge and one small hole that does not go through to the front. I did not try to clean or treat the quilt so the spots might be able to be taken out. This is a super nice quilt and very old. It is fresh from a local estate. It's creation is estimated to be pre 1930 when thrifty women were using feed sacks as their primary source of material. It is completely handsewn with the traditional ruffled edge in hues of raspberry. Pink, green and ivory. There are no tears, rips, stains or fading. And it is well used, with fraying and about 1/6 of the fabrics blown out on the front, also maybe about five small holes, largest one is shown in picture. VINTAGE GRANDMOTHERS FLOWER GARDEN QUILT, CLEAN & CRISP
This late 1940's/early 50's flower garden quilt is well made and in excellent condition-free of any wear or damage. The flower blocks have a pale green gating and the backing is a deep emerald green. Every flower has a yellow center followed by a ring of print hexagons then white or cream. Then green. Do note that most of the hexagons are white but some are a light ivory color-not dirty or anything just the different color occasionally. Each hexagon is neatly hand quilted all around its interior. The edges are hand bound in green. Batting is thin cotton. Its a good sized quilt at 80" x 90"

Antique Vintage Lot of 34 GRANDMOTHERS FLOWER GARDEN Quilt Blocks and 3 yards of white cotton fabric which is 33.5 inches wide(RARE) C.1950-75, found together in Lancaster County, Pa. These adorable quilt blocks are all HAND-PIECED and each flower is approx. 11 inches across. They are typical 1950's-75's dress and apron fabrics prints. Orchid. Yellow, Purple, green, pink, blue, etc. are just some of the colors. All have a pale yellow center. There are Fussy Cut prints to center the design, florals, and solids etc. These blocks lie flat. Good vintage condition with no spots or stains. Like raviolis(being a dumb guy, I don't know what you call this) The back and front between the patterns is an off-white or light cream color. From one family. It was owned by the Grandmother of the older woman I'm selling it for. The stitching is strong with NO ripped seams. NO holes or rubbed down areas. The coloring is nice and the fabric is NOT dry or brittle. The edges are not rubbed down or split. NO nasty mold or musty basement smells. There's a 3/4" tear on a small front white hexagon piece. The front has ten tiny tan/brown spots ranging from 1/8" to 1" With most being smaller. The back has eleven tiny tan/black spots ranging from 1/8" to 1/2" with most being smaller. These spots aren't a big deal and are expected with age, but I wanted to mention it. From one family. This quilt has been kept well over the years and will display nicely. If you have the time and talent. I have the blocks! This set of blocks should make up into a nice full sized quilt with just the 49 white blocks. All vintage 1930 cotton fabrics and feedsack prints. There are some really gorgeous fabrics. All the blocks have yellow centers, a solid color ring of hexagons, a print ring of hexagons and then a white ring of hexagons. All are hand pieced. 2 blocks that are finished with green hexagons 2 blocks that have half the green hexagons 3 blocks sewn togehter that have about half of the green hexagons and 200 cut single jadeite green hexagons to finish the other blocks or make a border. About 50 more that are sewn in pairs of green. There are also a couple of white hexagons. Good if you need repairs. Each of the 50 main blocks measure 13 inches across and each hexagon is 1.75" Several of the blocks ... morehave light foxing on the muslin and i have shown the worse. I suspect all spots will soak out. A few of the hexagons look like the edges were basted and then the stitches were removed, I don't why this is and i am only mentioning it for accuracy as I am not sure if it makes a difference to someone who sews.some pressing will need to be done also. Surely there are enough green hexagons to make a nice baby quilt out of the 7 blocks started and maybe enough to make a nice quilt with a different color of hexes for the border? Fills a medium flat rate box or parcel post if you prefer.

Nice and unusual vintage Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt from the 1930s with a great border and fussy cut hexagons. Nice workmanship and quilting on this large sized quilt. No flaws to note as it has been very well cared for and is clean and ready to use. The top is has some fading but is still nice an colorful. Great vintage feel and nice and supple. The fabrics used are all 100% Cotton. The overall size is 88" X 106" inches. Each fower block measures 7- 1/4" inches across and is assembled of small 1- 1/4" hexagons. The cotton batting is a extremely thin light summer weight and evenly distributed throughout the quilt without signs of shifting. The backing is whole cloth constructed of the same mustard yellow 100% cotton fabric used on the top and border. It is uniform in color with not spotting. Pretty enough to ... moreshow on its own side. It is hand pieced and hand quilted in double lines following the shape of each hexagon over the entire quilt. Stitch count is 8 stitches per inch(counted top side only) The binding is hand applied and finished in a knife edge. The good news is it is completely intact with no signs of damage or wear. CONDITION: This quilt is in great vintage condition for its age. It has been very well cared for and stored in ideal conditions. There are no flaws to note. It has accumulated some very light surface dust and could use a quick wash to brighten it up. There is some uniform fading on the top but still colorful and pleasing to the eye. There is no evidence of any rips tears or repairs to worry about. Just two very small spots that will wash out. This quilt has no odor and it does not appear to have been exposed to smoke. WONDERFUL bright and colorful vintage handmade quilt-Grandmothers Flower Garden design. Quilt has 7 rows of design all hand stitched and also older machine stitched. The reversed side appears to be a vintage sheet that was very neatly sewn on to probably make it abit longer and wider. The quilt itself measures 95" wide and 85" length(or laid the other way- with the added fabric/sheet 3" on both sides and 1" on the other 2 sides. There no stains. this quilt was started in the 1950's. I believe it is for a double quilt bed or possibly a twin. There are certainly enough blocks and pre-cut hexagons to make a couple of crib quilts. There are about 100 completed blocks 10 of which have been sewn together. There are several that need the white border. There are stacks of precut fabrics all from the same era which can be used to complete the quilt. The original hand made pattern shows a quilt using 143 blocks. This would be 12 blocks wide and 12 full blocks long. Half blocks are needed for the top and bottom and they have not been included in the 143 block count. Unfinished Quilt Squares Lot/40 Top + Vintage Fabric Grandmothers Flower Garden
From a local estate. Here is an unfinished quilt top in the"Grandmother's Flower Garden" pattern. Lot includes(40) completed sections, all hand-stitched, and hundreds of cut hexagonal pieces, ready to assemble into more sections. I'll also include the fabric scraps that were in the bag. The fabric here is old. I think some of it is from old feed sacks. It was started and never finished, has been in storage for many decades. You will find storage dust and a few smudges, the fabric will need to be washed or cleaned at some point. 1800's ERA Quilt STAR Block FABRIC Paper Piecing Grandmothers Flower Garden
Up for auction is a rare old quilt block in the shape of a six point star and the backing is 1800's ephemera. This treasure was found the Alleghany Mountains of the Shenandoah Valley. Virginia. An elderly lady had them stored and it has been handed down in her family. A textile expert from my area said this quilt designer had quite an eye for mosaic, color and design and it was a beautiful example of a historical quilt block. The fabric is designed into hexagon shapes. Paper pieced and hand stitched together. The stitches holding the hexagons together are very tiny(about 16 stitches to 1/2" The hexagon design could be considered Grandmother's Flower Garden, but after research I understand it could be called George Washington. This star dates back to the 1800's. The back side of the star reflects that an old letter. Likely ... morea love letter was used for the paper piecing. You will see closeups of the 1800's cursive script writing typical of that era in a couple of the sections. The paper remains around the outside all around the star! The measurements of the star is 13" from point to point. Each hexagon measures approximately 1" tip to tip on the small pieces. Each of the six sides on the hexagons measure approximately 1/2" Each tip is made up of ten hexagons. There are 139 hexagons(size of a nickel) all total in the star. The colors and designs are: red. Black, gray, pink, purple and prints. This is a totally amazing mosaic design from days gone by. very striking. The prints really grab your eye! The condition of the star is excellent taking into consideration its' age. I see white spots/holes that on the front of the star that is the white paper showing through. If you read this link it describes the technique and tells of the technique's history. It is quite rare that this piece was uncovered and is available for auction on ebay. Vintage 1930's Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt ~ Great Cutter! ~ Charming pastel cotton fabrics were used in this quilt.and there is a lot of quilting stitches! It was cut from a larger quilt that had damage around the edges. The center area that was left has a few issues; some tears. Fading, yellowing and some of the flowers have shattered fabrics. The sides were cut and the top and bottom still have the scalloped edge with pink frayed binding. The batting seems to be intact.no migrating. The colors are very bright and vibrant- some are delicate pastels and others are bold. All have solid yellow centers with a solid color in the second row and a floral print in the third row. There is one block with white hexagons sewn in. Making a fourth row. There is some faint yellowing along some of the edges and here and there. But no stains or spots that I could see. 1930s Grandmothers Flower Garden Quilt - Museum Quality
This is the nicest flower garden quilt I have ever gotten. It came from a local estate and is in excellent condition for its age. There are no rips. Holes or wear areas. I found one stain on the edge, as shown in the last photo. Could probably be removed with a little tlc. The octagon's are approx. one inch. Each piece is individually quilted. tiny stitches, 9 per inch. The white part consist of same size pieces, quilted individually. Flowers are 1930 era dress prints, that are still nice and bright. Much prettier than pictures show. Could you imagine quilting this, I for one would never get it done in a lifetime. I know you will love it. International bidders welcome. However I cannot insure. Weight is approx. 3 1/2 lbs.

This Ventage Grandmother diamond flower garden has older pattern material in it. I do not know how old the material is. I am not a vey good judge of age of things but to me it appears to be of an older type of fabric. It will finish into a beautiful older type quilt. I remember my Grandmother piecing quilt tops of this pattern back in the early and late 1950. I don't know how old this top is. If I can be of any help to anyone please feel free to contact me.

Antique Grandmother's Flower Garden Primitive Handstitched Quilt This is for an antique quilt. The pattern is grandmother's flower garden. This quilt is handstitched and is made of very, very old feedsack fabrics. The quilt has some issues and they are as follows: Even though the quilt has been laundered. Many of the fabrics still have soiling, which will not wash out. Can't bleach or the quilt will get damaged, so expect to still see old fabrics that can no longer be washed to the brightness they once had. There are areas where fabric has faded and areas where the fabrics have weakened to a point of being so worn out one can see the batting under. The back of the quilt is one solid color and it has soiling that will not wash out as well as some ghost stains and spots. In addition to heavy surface wear there are wear marks to ... morethe fabrics, but no holes. Fabrics have fading from age. There are minor spots and a few minor ghost stains, but not too bad on the stain part, as much as an overall surface soiling of old fabrics that are so old they no longer will wash out. Item has been laundered and will arrive fresh. The stitches appear to be between 6 to 8 stitches per inch. The binding is scalloped and it too was handstitched. Measures: 64" wide x 86" long. This is a lovely lot of 48 quilt blocks in the Grandmothers flower garden pattern in vibrant colors. Lots of patterns and solids. All hand stitched. All of the pieces are from feed or flour sacks from the 1930's and 40's. Each piece has 19 pieces. The blocks are 9 inches in diameter. I have shown pictures of all the blocks and have shown pictures from the back of 2 of the blocks and they are all the same and were all done by the same person. They have been in my family ever since they were made. No rips or tears or worn spots, no stains, never has been used. They are beautiful. patterns are so nifty and the hand work is great. It measures 79" x 79 1/2" This quilt is in good condition. There is some minor binding wear. 2 tiny surface holes, light surface wear in one small piece, one very light quarter size spot on the front and a darker one on the back, and a 1" x 1" surface tear on the back, repairable. Lovely Grandmothers Flower Garden Quilt. Size is approximately 80" inches wide x 87" long. With alternating rows of seven and eight colorful, nicely quilted cotton flowers on a white background. Condition is very good with small stains on one flower and a long, narrow stain on the white portion(possibly rust) near the bottom of the quilt.see photos) The quilt is shown on a twin(39" bed. However. It is wide enough to also have drop-down on the sides on a full(54" or queen(60" bed. On a king-size(72" wide bed, it would cover the top with only 3 or 4 inches of drop-down on the sides. There is a faint number stamped on the back. It is expertly hand quilted at 8-9 stitches per inch. It is machine bound. It measures 97" x 74" This quilt is in amazing condition with just a couple spots on the front and back ranging from pin dot to rice size as shown in the photos. No wear or other damage. Fresh.
