Lovely Long Length Of Antique/Vintage Whitework Embroidery 81" x 12" Length of Antique/Vintage Whitework Embroidery. A Lovely useful length of Fine Cotton covered with Whitework Embroidery. The Piece measures approx 81" Long x 12" deep. The Whitework Embroidery is just under 9" deep. This Piece was obviously the Hem of a Dress or Petticoat and has been cut off. The Piece is Nice and Strong and therefore could be used for a number of projects. It is Nice and White. There is a join at 43" which is just under/half of the Piece. The Whitework Embroidery itself is very detailed and the only damage that I can see is two tiny splits at the bottom pointed edge which will need a stitch. A really lovely and unusual vintage hand-stitched embroidery worked on a natural coloured linen. This dates. I believe from about the 1920s or 1930s. The image is of some Dutch people in a country scene. With one of the men sat on a fence, reading a paper, with a windmill in the background. The stitching is beautifully worked and intricate. The fabric measures 25 x 16 inches. This lovely vintage piece has previously been framed. It comes in really super condition for age with the stitching and colours all in excellent condition. Which is an ancient blend of linen and cotton- this actually feels like linen, so a high quality linen metis. It is thick and silky smooth to the touch. With a slub or two. This sheet would make a fabulous drape- especially with its very long length- can you imagine it'puddling' on the floor? Utterly divine! This lovely wedding dowry sheet has a very square monogram MD which is also embroidered with large dots for further prettiness. But it is the handiwork underneath the mongram that makes this sheet so very extra special! It has a fabulous turndown with exquisite embroidery- coupled with its giant size. Vintage Green Cabinet with Unique Embroidery
This Unique Cabinet is roughly from the early 1960's. It's pea green in color with a brass Embroidery which features birds on it. In addition. The legs are also wrapped with brass. The cabinet doors close flush and the cabinet legs are level. I can't find any identifing model# or name on the cabinet, or I would have disclosed it. The dimensions are approx-33 inches long, by 19" wide, by 31" high. This was once my grandmother's furniture and was well taken care of. If you have any questions, please ask. The women of Zhouxi are renowned for their very fine applique work and this jacket and matching apron is a superb example. The jacket is of deep burgundy coloured silk satin with the classic fastening. The exceptionally fine applique is acheived with the use of silk felt or flat cocoon silk and couched wrapped thread on a base cloth of silk satin. Tin foil is used to divide strips. The jacket is tailored by hand and fully lined with indigo cotton. The matching front apron also has strips of silk felt dyed purple. Green and blue ... moreand a fringe of the same. The back apron is simple. Of heavily beaten indigo dyed cotton with one strip of applique work at the hem. See a separate listing for a fragment of this decoration. The skirt is of very stiff finely pleated indigo cotton. Distinguished from the similar skirts of other dress groups by the single row of white cotton at the bottom. Early 19th century linen work sampler by Angelina Leger. Aged 12 years orTalcottrills. I think but not positive, see last pic. This is a finely made and beautiful original sampler with one of my favorite religious verses. The Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want. It has sweet pink buttercup flowers and curvy designs surrounding the delicate stitchery. The alphabet is in large size and then below in small cursive next to her numbers. Although she must have run out of room in the all cursive stitchery. Also says Wrought By My Hand Year of My Lord 1849 in my 12th year of my life with mamas guiding hand. The sampler is in good condition with the usual aging color for its age. I see no big issues except the small cursive letters run out of room. Very quaint and so sweet. vintage set of 3 linen chair protectors or doilies, lovely x stitch embroidery
I buy vintage linens at local estate auctions to pass them along to you. A recent auction brought a bonanza of lovely linens. This is a set of three matching embroidered doilies or chair covers. I believe this set was made as antimacassers. Those embellished linen doilies that were placed on the head and arms of chairs to protect and decorated them. These three doilies are made of cream colored linen; there is one larger doily measuring 16" wide by 10 1/2" long at the center point(the bottom has scallops on the edge) and two matching smaller doilies that are 10 1/2" long by 6" wide. All of these have been hand embroidered with an elaborate design in tiny cross stitch. There is a center medallion with flowers in pinks and oranges with green foliage in a brown oval frame, flanked by large flowers. All is outlined with lines ... moreof two shades of blue. There is a lot going on it this, so please use the zoom function to examine it closely. The smaller two have the same features but in smaller scale. These are freshly washed and pressed and in good condition. The larger one has two slight yellowed areas that are hard to see behind the embroidery. These look great and have great period detail. Antique Vintage Tiffany& Co Embroidery Scissors Silver Thimble Circa 1920-30's with Leather Case. In very clean condition. The scissors measure 3 1/2" long. Satin gold handles. The thimble is sterling silver. No size stamp present but measures 3/4" in diameter. The scissors fit snug in a satin velvet interior. The outer case is blue leather with gold trim. The bottom of the case is stamped Tiffany& Co France. We could not find any markings on the scissors to know if the handles are gold. The scissors are tight hinged and cut like new. For your consideration is this small vintage or antique cotton tabelcloth with white-on-white hand embroidery and openwork. The tablecloth measures 43 by 44 inches and has the same hand embroidered and cutwork design on end corner. This vintage red work embroidery piece comes from an estate in mid-Michigan. This embroidery is done on what looks like a piece of white sheeting that measures approx. 30” X 33” The embroidery itself is in very good condition but the fabric has some issues. There are several small spots as well as some water staining on the sides. There are also several small pinholes on the fabric. The actual embroidery is all intact and is quite beautiful.
