This is an ecru-colored Victorian twin bed cover or coverlet that is made of hand-crocheted lace. It measures 65" x 90" There are a few areas of stains that I have taken pics of so please take a look at all of them. I will let the new owner decide on how best to clean this vintage piece. Antique Maryland Coverlet (mid-1850's)
My Md. family coverlet is wool& cotton/linen. Overshot weave. It was woven on two looms as was the custom of the times and pieced together in the center. Each strip measures approx 35 1/2 for a total of 70 inches wide. Length is approx 7 ft long. I cannot identify the pattern. But it is attractive with a side& bottom border. Fringe appears to be complete& in good condition. The old family piece is possibly from the 1850-60s. My family was from Frederick, MD. Fringe and coverlet look in excellent condition for its very old age-some fabric yellowing across the top of the coverlet. It is my hope that this lovely piece of history will find a loving home. Sorry. I can only ship to the continental USA. Thanks for looking.

Antique 1848 Red, White, and Blue Coverlet Signed "J.L.MD 1848"
Nice antique red. White, and blue coverlet. It's signed on both bottom corners. It has"J.L. MD" with"1848" underneath and a house next to it. I tried to research and find the weaver but was unable. I found one with identical marking and it had it was from Maryland. The coverlet measures 72" x 63" and is a little shorter on one end. It is missing a good amount of fringe on two of the sides. The top of it doesn't have fringe but it has a lot of wear(see pictures 4& 5) There are multiple spots which I believe I captured all in the pictures. I did not attempt to clean it in fear of damaging it. It looks as though a repair has been done(see picture 6) Despite its flaws, it is still a beautiful piece with deep rich colors. especially for being 165 years old. U.S. sale only. PayPal only.

VRY FN 1850 ANTIQUE MUSEUM QUALITY DBL SIDE JACQUARD COVERLET W ESTATE APPRAISAL
This is the one that you have been waiting for as we have been listing all of these old textiles! I can easily say this is the piece d' resistance of all the blankets and quilts that we have sold in the last couple of weeks and it is also the earliest and simply the most beautiful! This is museum quality and the condition is extremely fine. This is borne out by the 1988 appraisal by June Johnson ASA appraiser. Of which we will include a copy. The appraisal reads as follows: Outstanding Jacquard Coverlet, double woven with a center seam. Three colors, red white and dark blue, are executed in"Snowflake and Pine pattern. The coverlet is reversible, having self-fringe at two ends. Extremely fine condition. Circa 1850. Value.$725.00. It's been very exciting to be able to list all of these pieces and know that they will be going to ... morepeople who will cherish them and take care of them as they we have been for so many decades and as they were meant to be. This coverlet measures approximately 72" x 86" and the fringe adds amother 2" or so. The condition truly is phenomenal with an occasional thread pull or loose threads near the edge hem as shown. There are also two very small areas of old repair that we also show in the photos. This is a heavy and so tightly woven, hand loomed piece with the center seam described in the appraisal. The colors are very, very vibrant and because it is reversible and double woven, you are really getting two looks for one price. The double weave has origins in Swedish weaving and what makes this so incredible is how the thread weaving is on top of the fabric so that the other side doesn't show the back side of the weaving. Pretty amazing! I'll add that this one was found wrapped in heavy old brown paper, tightly packed which accounts for its fine condition. The trunks were sold locally as they were too big to ship but I can tell you that these pieces mostly came from Germany, Austria and Sweden and are family pieces handed down over more than four generations

Antique Bed Spread Coverlet Woven Blue Birds Old Farm House Estate
A wonderful Blue Bird bed spread here from a farm sale. It is old and I think probably 1930s. They said it had been in the family for years. It is woven but woven with a beautiful pattern that I have never seen before. It is a summer weight and was used on a sleeping porch a long time ago. There are two tiny areas that are thin with a hole but this is such a lovely spread and you can not see the the areas unless you look for them as they are near the edge. Reversible with white and blue birds. I am only guessing at the age as I have no clue but it is old! 108" by 76" It really makes you feel as if Spring is nearly here. We welcome your emails. It also has beautifully crochet delicate edging. The whole blanket measures 60" wide by 86" long plus 4" trim. It is pieced very neatly down the center. Overall it appears to be in excellent condition. At first I thought that there was slight stains. But I think it may be inperfection in the wool that was used when it was made. Antique Coverlet and Wool Blanket Pieces for Crafting
The rust colored coverlet piece(top left in 1st photo and background in 2nd) measures 34" by 16" It does show wear in a few places. The two small strips from coverlets measure 19 1/2" by 5 1/2" for the multicolored piece and 25" by 4" for the dark blue piece. The blue piece has worn areas. The blue windowplane check blanket section on the bottom left in the 1st photo and the left in the 3rd measures 36" by 11 1/2" I see a few small holes and a small area with some staining. The blue plaid blanket piece on the right is in good condition and is 32" by 20 1/2" The small rust plaid piece is lighter is weight and measures 15" by 9" I am always happy to answer questions.

Colonial Woven Coverlet Tennessee Trouble Red Antique White TwinSize Made in USA
The colors in this twin size coverlet are red and antique/white. The antique white shows more of a buttery yellow off-white in person and viewed across the room. The color is more like an heirloom woven blanket would be found today in a trunk with a hint of coloring of age. It measures 69X94. It has a full bodied feel of an antique coverlet. This pattern is dated from the 1850's from Hamblen County. TN, and was originally woven by the elder lady of the Crosby family of Hamblen County. Our woven textiles are made right here in Pennsylvania as they were made originally. They may have a center seam down the middle. This is not a defect and is period correct for the textile. This is for an antique bed coverlet made of a fine cotton muslin. It is very sheer and a delightful summer weight. This lovely coverlet is also very soft and pure white in color. The design is composed of rows of pintucks giving it an elegant understated quality. It is in good condition with no stains. There are a couple of very small openings in the light muslin fabric. 1800's COVERLET Antique PENNSYLVANIA American EAGLE - Double Woven 72 by 84"
This antique Pennsylvania American Eagle 1800's coverlet was double woven. It was made on a large loom and does not have a center seam. Red. Tan and dark blue wool yarn was woven into a natural color cotton base. It has a lot of missing blue yarn at both ends, for some reason the blue yarn did not wear very well but the other colors are fine. There are small areas at the edge that show wear also and most of the fringe is missing. Please look closely at the center, there are a few small holes in the star area but they are only on one side. Many of the areas are in very good condition. The reverse side has much less red as shown but is very pretty also. It is clean and odor free, it's size is 72 by 84 inches. This was found in a cedar chest that contained many items from the early 20 th century. And there is no reason to believe this did not come from that period. It is a beautiful spread, and could be from France, as the design elements are very thick and stand out beautifully. This is not like the matelassé that is found today– it is lush and thick. In addition, the bedspread is made to fit a four-post bed, with the bottom of the spread having a cut out area to fit around the poster. The pictures certainly do not do this piece justice, especially because I had to take them on ... morethe dining room table as it does not fit a queen bed. I believe(and you can determine for yourself by the measurements below) that this fits a double or full bed. It is in a white-ivory in color. Not bright white, but more muted like ivory. The border of the top of the bedspread has fuzzy floral designs bordering a superb center of water lilies and scrollwork. It is absolutely the nicest design I have seen on these– not a cookie-cutter design as most are. The entire top is bordered by large dots within lines. The drop of the bedspread; that is, the sides, begin with the fuzzy floral elements(roses, I believe) and ends in a scalloped edge that is a checkerboard design. Stunning! This gorgeous antique matelassé cover is made of thick cotton and is fully washable, although I have found no stains, rips, holes or tears on the piece. I guarantee you will be pleased with this gorgeous bedspread! The bed cover measures approximately 84 inches long by 82 inches wide. ANTIQUE 1838 Philadelphia Fancy Jacquard double woven blue white eagle coverlet
This sale is for a coverlet woven in Philadelphia. We did some research on this textile and discovered it was probably made by German Men that developed a from of loom weaving called Jacquard. They often did these for weddings or different occasions and the date was placed in the corner as well as the person's name that was being honored with the gift. These weaving were often cotton and wool and sometimes the wool was home spun to cut production cost. At one time they were fairly common according to our research. This coverlet was made for a Sarah Johnson in 1838. We think the pattern is called Double Lilly or Lillies of France. and it has Liberty borders with Eagles. and what we think are fruit trees. You will find this on 3 sides only. The other initials have some meaning probably about the weaver but we could not find anything on ... morethis. We have owned this coverlet for many years. Before that is was in the family for many years stored for awhile and used for awhile. At one point my aunt had it in her home and stitched the blue material on the back and placed the edge of the coverlet( that has no eagles) between two boards and hung it. Later we received it. It is not as a result. The weaving is actually very sound except for a expected edge wear and a couple of edge tears show in the pic and in the center where the two pieces were stitched together there is some MINOR seperation shown also. We saw a few areas where it looked as repairs may have occured( small areas) There may be some other separations but there are to huge holes or tears in the center of this piece. We used this piece at the bottom of a bed for decoration only. It has not been cleaned by us. It appears to be a heavy wool and cotton to us. It is dark on one side and light on the other. We think this is called double woven. We would say the colors are dark blue and cream. We see some brown age spots here and there to be expected from something heading for 200 years old. This beautiful wool reversibl e coverlet came from Poland many years ago. My friend's late mother never really used it. Just kept it on top of her cedar chest. It measures 84" x 52" and the fringe adds an extra 4" on each side. There are two small holes that are shown in the close up photos. I also added photos that while they might l ook like holes. If you zoom in you will see that it's where the wool came through from the opposite side. Upon close inspection. The way this was woven is extremely interesting as I cannot figure out how they were able to make a reversible coverlet without any noticeable seams holding the two together. The mohair is antique. The backing seems to be from a later 1940's material, similar to a bark cloth type. The throw is very heavy in weight like an old quilt. We found a couple light age spots spots and light blue pattern ink smudge that we show in the close-ups with the scissors. We also found a few broken brides. Minor and hard to find. I bought this serveral years ago and not knowing to much about its history I will try to describe as best I can. It is signed and dated on both lower corners, it measures approximately 82" by 90" The colors are strong and vivid no fading what so ever. The fringe on either side is navy, green and red, the other side being all tan none of the fringe is missing. The only issue and you can see in the picture it they made a patch on it and did not do a very good job of matching it up. With that being said it is still a beautiful piece except for the patch it is in excellent condition. Red, Green, Blue, and the White base color(light cream) It has the fringe on 3 of the 4 sides. Look at my other listings. I am selling another signed coverlet from the same estate that is dated 1841. ANTIQUE UNUSUAL AND LOVELY EMBROIDERED COVERLET FOR TWIN BED
Straight from a Vermont estate. We have never seen a coverlet quite like this one. Our guess is that it dates from about 1900- 1920. The size of the coverlet is 88 inches x 64 inches. So it is for a twin bed and looks wonderful on one. The fabric of the coverlet seems to be a light cotton that has a homemade look. The embroidery of bluebirds and flowers is all over. But what is so intriguing is the all-over white embroidery that covers the white surface of the fabric. So the entire coverlet is totally covered in two different types of embroidery. And if that is not enough, there is a wonderful hand-made fringe that goes all around three of the four sides. The condition seems to be just about perfect. No odors or stains.

An unusual vintage find. Is this early wov en coverlet. And we would welcome anyone's opinion or information as to the age of this. pat terns of grape leaves ar ound one part of the border. Three sides are of flowers, and the outer border is the same on all four sides, a zig zag design. Done in two colors. Red& green, and made of what appears to be hand spun cotton or linen, really not sure. don't think it's wool. the fringe fibers vary just sli ghtly in their thicknesses. That's why we're fairly certain it's homespu n. On one end there is blue woven into it. See pics 8& 9. Measu res approx. 42" x 62" with an additional 4-5" fringe all around. Heavy. Weigh s almost 4# One hole in the center fi eld, minor fringe loss, some slight fading, stain on one side. Which I think will come out in dry cleaning.

GORGEOUS NET LACE COVERLET AND PILLOW COVER This is for a pillow cover and matching coverlet. Its got gorgeous appliques all over it on top of fabulous net lace. There is one small repair at the bottom where the piece hangs down. Its about 2.5" long, I am not sure if thats the part that hangs at the end of the bed or if it goes under the pillow. There are a couple of other very tiny holes, I show one in photo#5, there is also another small hole about.5" in width. Overall in pretty good condition minus the repair. It could probably use a good soaking, no major stains that I could see. Selling as is. You are bidding on a Vintage 1840's Indigo& White Antique Coverlet. This belongs to a 90 year friend. It has been in her family since at least 1845. She has old letters telling of its existence and passage thru the family. You can get an idea of condition from the photos as some will show where time took its place. There are a few light brownish spots very common in these types of coverlets from this time period. The size is 58 x 91 and was woven in 2 pieces. The seam is coming apart and will have to be repaired. The fringe is gone except for one side. There is one thin spot in picture 10. If you have questions please ask.

Lovely Antique Embroidered Cotton Coverlet/Bed Cover Full Size - Nice
This is very old. In my family with initials of mok. I am sure it is at least 85 years old. There are two small spots toward bottom as pictured. The picture is magified. I cannot find any other flaws. Very clean. This is cotton. I think the edging is done by machine, but other than that all hand embroidered. The cropped pictue is the underside to show how beautifully this is stiched. Measures: 100" Long x 78" wide. These were made to use as summer bed covers. This is very well cared for.

It was only used for a brief period then stored for many years in a proper container to preserve it's condition. This is a lovely antique sheer white cotton bedspread filled with handmade laces. Including bobbin and filet. The border features filet lace with cherubs and flower baskets. In the center is a filet lace insert with a large crane. Cherry blossom trees, and a bridge. in the Chinoiserie style. Small crochet edging on three sides and made for a four post bed. Hand embroidered flower baskets and floral designs though the spread. It measures 82" long x 75" wide- includes side ruffles. Very good condition. This piece has a couple pinholes and separations. One pea size repair, a very faint tan spot, and 3 small breaks in the crochet edging as shown in photo's. 13 oz. T765. An early Pennsylvania coverlet with blue wool threads and wide fringe. There's a hand sewn center seam. It measures 93 x 73 inches. Without fringe. The fringe measures 6 inch. There's scattered areas that the wools threads are missing and when held up to the light you can also see the bites to the threads. This is scattered throughout. Some of it you can see in our pictures that more noticeable. Some age spotting. The fringe has darkened from age. The coverlet appears to be the crisp type and hasn't been used. Vintage Cotton TEXAS STAR of BETHLEHEM Coverlet Quilt Blanket Pink Antique Woven
This beautiful vintage woven coverlet from the 1930s has been in hiding for a very long time and needs to be seen. Formerly held in a collection and kept in ideal storage conditions this one emerges in superb vintage condition. Nice and clean with the exception of one spot that can be seen in the last photo. Nothing to stop you from enjoying this one. The striking pattern is full of tiny little details that make it most appealing to the eye. The paper tag on one corner is a sale tag from long ago. This coverlet has no sign of a makers tag. The overall size is 78 X 94 inches. This is a very well made and light weight cotton coverlet. Hard to tell which side is the best as it views nicely on both sides. The scalloped border is nicely finished with a square knot type stitched edge. Fine design detailing in the pattern. CONDITION: Just a few ... morethread pulls that are hard to fnd and one spot that looks removable on one corner to worry about. Otherwise. It is in great condition and very soft and strong. It does not appear to have been used much. There are no rips, tears or areas of wear to note. Nice uniform consistency overall with no evidence of thinning or weakness in the fibers. The colors are uniform. The condition of the fabrics is excellent. There is a no odor to this coverlet and it does not appear to have been exposed to smoke. Pets or abuse.
