This rare antique French appliqué is a masterfull creation of the embroiderers' art. It is a small 3& 3/4 by 5 inches in a palette of ivory.Cream and cafe latte. Center of applique is embroidered with raised cotton ribbon flowers and silky threads on a delicate cotton net. With motifs of flowers and leaves outlined in delicate black stitches. The appliqué is completely hand embroidered and outlined with embroidered satin stitch with gold metal thread detail. This appliqué would make a superb headpiece for edwardian/1920's costume if ribbon was added. Excellent unused antique condition.

Antique Vintage French Lace 1950s Pair of Lace Bed Covers Comforter Shams
Set of two beautiful Vintage French Lace Coverlets in light Pink these are twin size and two matching Pink Lace Pillow Shams. From the 1950s I have had this set since childhood. They are clean and free from odor. There is some slight stains and minor holes I could not get anything to show up in photos. The coverlets are qulited and have a netted type lace top a lace border all with light pink lace. The shams are a satin back with a lace back. I wash these with mild detergent in cold water and dry them on low. I am parting with many of my vintage french treasures to help us fund our trip to france later this year. We also have a small french shop, I will be downsizing and listing much of the inventory all winter long. Please check back often. A rare lot of 3 pairs of curtains of incredible length from a french Chateau. Probably Art Nouveau aera. Identical in pattern and condition they differ a little by the sizes. But not much. When I found these one year ago they where grey and stiff with dust and the temptation was great to have it all cleaned immediately. But I decided to give them the time they needed. One panel from time to time. Soaked in the bathtub(several times) without stirring or tumbling, using gentle old soap blocs(just to get rid of over 100 years of dust) This gave them a chance to show what they really were! As no bleach or strong detergent has been used the showed how they were the day they were hung to the windows: the muslin sewn on the net ground and embroidered with a TENDER YELLOW thread! Usuall y these Cornely embroidered curtains are white on white after ... morerepeat laundering. These have a happy sunny touch! The main problem is that having been all hand washe d separately. with different soaking times(according to my time available at the moment:o) they do not all have the same shade of ecru(see pictures. I have put the lightes t panel next to the darkest to make this evident) This leaves you the choice of the treatment you want to give them. According to the result you desire. The condition is good and strong(they ar not"dry" with some places where the muslin of the pattern has no t c o mpletely be en seized by the stitching and tries to escape. Asking for some sti tches. One pannel has some tiny holes along the anc ient center fold. But nothing dramatic. On the other 5 panels, a very tiny hole, here or th ere. see pictures) Please dont forget to ask for detailed pictures! These panels are betw een 4 1 2 cm(162" and 430 cm(169" high and between 1 12 cm(44" and 1 28(50" large! It is so rare to find that it would be a pity to cut them! I will not separate them either! Antique French pure linen sheet with handmade lace panel and GB monogram
Magnificent antique French pure linen sheet. Unused, with a lace panel and GB monogram I was delighted to discover this. Such a beautiful example of linen from the trousseau of a happy bride from here in the Auvergne. It features an ornate broad bobbin lace panel and has a centrally positioned G B monogram picked out in cream embroidery. The lace panel runs the full width of the bedsheet. On each side of the lace. On the linen itself is a line of'jours' the open ladderlike decoration typically found on fine French linens such as this. The sheet has never been used or washed: the colour is a natural ecru which gradually fades with washing. In the very centre of the sheet. Under the monogram on the row of'jours' a little creamy thread has detached itself and just needs to be reattached. Its condition is excellent. I have not ... morelaundered this sheet. It measures 85" by 116" or just over 7 feet by just under 10 feet( 212 cm by 290 cm) The wide lace panel measures 3 3/4 inches( 10cm) and begins 5 3/4 inches( 15 cm) from the edge. A PAIR of antique French sheets, drawn thread work and lace inserts, 83" wide
A beautiful pair of soft metis(cotton and linen) antique sheets 83" wide x 122" long. One is the same width but 119" long. Metis(meaning mixture in French) is a mixture of linen and cotton(the weft is made of linen and the warp of cotton) It began to be used in France as a cheaper alternative to pure linen for sheeting at the end of the 19 th. Because of the mixture of the two natural fibres these sheets are extremely hard wearing and were able to withstand vigorous washing. This pair of sheets is almost identical except for the slightly different lace inserts(see photos 5 and 6) They were unused creamy beige and full of storage marks when I found them. They are now pure white after washing. Beautiful intricate drawn thread work in a double row across the hem and down the return for 31" Another row of drawn thread work ... morebelow the top hem. Beautiful Vintage 1920's ecru French Tambour Net lace bedspread. Twin size. It has a large rose center with trailing vines. The center is in excellent condition except a few period size spots. The main condition issues I see are along the seams where they have some separation and some pinholes along the drops. I have tried to show these areas as accurately as possible. I believe these could be easily repaired. It does have one small stain along the bottom. I did hand wash this once when purchased, but did not try to spot treat the stain. Beautiful Antique Lace Bed Cover guesstimated to be from the late 1800's to very early 1900's. It is in a Crazy Quilt style made with different styles of lace. There is hand made bobbin Lace. Openwork, cutwork, Normandy lace, Brussels lace, Valenciennes lace, and the big embroidered flowers. All delicately stitched together. I can only imagine how much time went into the creation of this one piece. It measures about 69" x 96" It would be a great piece to use for a Bridal Veil or train of the bride's dress. Very Victorian lacy and lovely. There are few professional repairs if you look very closely. They are good repairs, but not quite as delicate and perfect as the original stitching.

Antique French 18th c. Hand made needle Lace Founce
A rare example of the fine needlework made in the late 1700s. This antique flounce this Alencon-French fully hand made early needle lace has the fine light mesh featuring such beautiful floral design. Exceptional workmanship on this fine lace piece. It measures over 2 yards in length, 2 yards and 13" 85" and 2 3/4" wide. In very good antique condition for a lace over 200 years old. There are a few holes, one in the center of piece and one near the very edge. Also, it has been stitched together for one long continuous piece of lace and many years ago someone lovingly carefully attached it to this blue tissue. Which is somewhat fraying away in places, of course it does not affect the lace at all. A very fine piece of old. Rare and fine lace, French in origin, circa 1790 or perhaps a little before. Very fine excellent quality metis linen antique sheet with a great deal of hand embroidery. 82" wide and 120" long. Metis(meaning mixture in French) is a mixture of linen and cotton(the weft is made of linen and the warp of cotton) It began to be used in France as a cheaper alternative to pure linen for sheeting at the end of the 19 th. B ecause of the mixture of the two natural fibres these sheets are extremely hard wearing and were able to withstand vigorous washing. There are 3 lace insert squares about 2½" and a fine geometric design of pulled thread work between the MG monogram and the hem. Point de bourdon satin stitch dots amongst the pulled thread work. The Art Deco MG embroidery is in a triangle with deep ladder work. Raised satin stitch and point de bourdon. The hems are entirely hand sewn. Large Long Vintage Antique French Alencon Lace Table Runner 12" x 39-1/2" to start a new paragraph use- Very nice large and long Vintage French Alencon(machine lace) runner measuring 12 inches wide x 39-1/2 inches long. This is in very nice condition. There is one small flaw in the lace on the short edge where it has a minor separation which can be seen in the bottom of the first two photo's. The flaw is minor and if you wished could be completely hidden with a couple small stitches. Otherwise in good condition with no problems, this is untreated and has an overall patina, the edges with some faint tanning, but nothing detracting. This is constructed of a lace panel and edged in matching 1-1/2 inch lace trim on all 4 sides. I believe the threads are all cotton.
