Two matching pieces of gold metallic lace. French in origin. I believe the pieces where probably used as a trim around the neck of a dress. One piece has a metal hook at the back. Straight edge along one side with a scalloped edge along the other side. Both pieces have gold metallic thread bobbles at each end. Color is well represented in photos. Measurements One piece measures 29 inches in length and the other piece measures just over 32 inches in length. The width is the same on both pieces and measures 2 inches wide from top to bottom of scallop. Condition Used condition. Both pieces have a seam about 15 inches in from the end without the bobbles. One piece has 9 bobbles while the other piece has only 4 bobbles. You will probably want to iron the lace(from the back) out so that it will lay a bit flatter. In beautiful condition with an almost sculpted 3D look to the punched chenille work. The gold metallic and blue lace trim has approx. 2" missing or damaged. Pillow form can easily be slipped into back opeining. Probably from the early 1900's. All hand done on soft cotton velvet. Measures 17" by 18" I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. The lace is 1 inch wide at the end of the scallop. And 13/16 in between the scallops. There are metallic threads interwoven into this lace. The metallic threads have aged in color. Used. But in good condition. One of the close-ups shows a flaw; the tip of the scissors is pointing at the thread that has separated. The few flaws that I noticed were similar: the metallic thread at the top edge or the bottom edge had come apart, but could easily be redirected. I am not a lace expert. I think this is machine made. One side is a satin type and the other is a cotton. Both sides are shiny. On all 4 sides is a gold metallic lace trim that measures 3/4" and it is gorgeous. On the opposite side in each corner is a flat round weight covered over with the black material so the tablecloth would not move. It is a golden metallic on a silver cotton ground, straight on one edge, scalloped on the other. We had the hardest time trying to get a good photo of it. We placed a tape measure across it for you could see the size of the floral design. It is in wonderful condition for its age, a few small holes, the largest being 1 5/8, see photos. Vintage gold metallic lace trim. French in origin. Basically a straight edge along the top with a scalloped edge along the bottoms. Well developed patina. Will look great with old fabrics. Nice quality. Photos are a good representation of actual color. Measurements 3 ft 7 inches in length The width is just under 1/2 inches from top to bottom of scalloped edges. Condition Used but still in good condition. The only thing to note is some darker shading of patina along the edges both top and bottom and you might want to straight out some of the threads along the bottom edge. Italian 17th Century 1600's SIlk Brocade Panels w Valance Metallic Gold Lace- This very old fabric is from the 1600's and is a crimson silk bropcade with metallic gold pomegranites and grapes trimmed in a metallic gold shell patterned lace. The 2 large panels probably were drapes or bed hangings. They have the gold lace down one edge, one panel is slightly better than the other, both have lots of fraying and wear as shown. They measures 58 1/2 inches wide, the fabric panels are 20 i8nches selveldge to selvedge and they are 97 inches long, the lace is 2 3/8 inches wide and goes down one long side and about 14 inches into the bottom edge. The valance is in a bit better shape, ... morelots of wear and frays, but holding together. It has a scalloped bottom and the gold lace is slightly gathered on the bottom edge and is straight across the top. It's lined in a coarse linen, it's 8 inches wide and 79 inches long. They were de-accessioned from a museum, there's a very old twill tape on the pieces with Chesnay hand written on it, not sure of that was the donor. As is. 1920s Vintage Metallic Silver Lace Sequin Trim Flapper
This auction is for two pieces of vintage 1920's metallic silver trim. I bought these pieces from an antique and vintage textiles dealer years ago. I was going to use them in a project. But instead these pieces have been tucked in a drawer for years. The two pieces of trim are both 18" longx1.5" wide. The edges are sequin sewn to a flat braid. The center of the trim is a braided metallic cord the joins the sequin edges together. Because of the age of this trim. There are areas of darkened patina on the sequins(see pics) This does not detract from the overall beauty of the trim. These pieces have been well cared for and stored away from moisture, sunlight, etc. This trim is strong and use able with no dry rot or sequin loss. Antique OVAL TABLE RUNNER damask velvet doiley metallic lace tapestry needlepoin
This outstanding table runner measures 28" x 15" 71cm x 38cm) It dates from the 1920s. And comes from Switzerland(see photo 9 for label) The center oval applique is a rose/green/gold/ecru damask fabric edged with narrow dark gold metallic braid. The wavy oval shape of the whole runner is edged with dark gold metallic lace that is scalloped. Dusty rose velvet surrounds the center damask applique. And there is a ring mark at one end, also some very tiny marks that hardly show(photos 5 and 6) The back is lined with gold silk which has some very pale stains(photo 10) Given the age of this table runner. Antique damask TABLE RUNNER velvet doiley needlepoint metallic lace tapestry
This table centerpiece comes from Austria. And measures 23.5" x 13" 60cm x 34cm) It dates from the 1920s and is sewn by machine. The center design is made from a silk damask fabric(pale gold and rust) which is appliqued onto gold velvet and edged in antique metallic dark gold braid. There is a little fraying at the curve where the damask touches the braid but it is hardly noticeable because the colour blends in. The gold velvet background is adorned with antique metallic lace braiding around the edges. There are no stains but the velvet has some"scratch" marks that come from use and really just add patina to the velvet. The back is lined with pale gold cotton fabric. No odors. This auction is for a wonderful antique vintage intricately woven gold metallic lace trim with bejeweled faceted glass flowers and faux pearls. This was in a lot of 1920s trims. It has a Kelly green grosgrain ribbon sewn onto the underside. The pearls do have wear as can be seen in photos. However, it is still an interesting trim. It consists of five(5) thick glass flowers in beautiful shades of rich turquoise blue, emerald green, ruby red, blue and a pale yellow gold. They all have an aged appearance. On either side of the jewels, there is plain metallic trim, similar to a belt.However, I am not certain if this is what it originally was. There are no hooks or eyes. Very heavy and thick gold lace trim where gold wire was woven through to make the pattern. It's an old gold color with a hint of red. The flash pictures(2,4,5) lighten the color too much. On its orginal paper/cardboard card, it's in great condition, no breaks or stains or unraveling. Measures 1" wide by 204" or 5 2/3 yards.I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. Beautiful antique lace picture frame. All original. I think this pretty picture frame dates to the early 1920's era and most likely originates from France. This picture frame has soft pink silk covering and metallic lace. Beautiful silk ribbon work roses circle the frame. In excellent condition for its age- the inside pink silk has a slight wavy pattern but it really seems as if it was never used. It was found in a small plain white box that is marked Made in Austria- not sure if this was the original box or not but it seems to have been stored safely in this little box for decades. THEY ARE MADE OF VERY OLD PARCHMENT PAPER THAT IS HAND PAINTED AND STENCILED WITH FLOWERS. THERE ARE ROSE COLORED ROSES AND BLUE YELLOW MORNING GLORIES. LEAVES AND VINES. THEY HAVE DUSTY PINK TRIM WITH METALLIC LACE HAND SEWN AROUND THE BOTTOM AND TOP EDGES OF EACH SHADE. THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE PAPER IS A DUSTY PINK AND THE MIDDLE WERE THE FLORAL STENCILS ARE IS TAN. INSIDES ARE A GOLDISH TAN THEY ARE SO UNUSUAL.VERY FRENCH COTTAGE. Vintage silver metallic lace. French in origin. Stylized floral and leaf design. Basically a straight edge along the top with a scalloped edge along the bottom. Silver metallic threads are woven into a white cotton net base. Photos are a good representation of actual color. Nice quality. Measurements 22 1/2 inches across x 12 1/4 inches from top edge to bottom of scallop. Condition Old stock. Excellent unused condition. The only thing to note though is that the lace was folded in half at one time and right down the middle of the lace is a darker line of patina.
