This beautiful opera glasses have the BEE HALLMARK on the center bar which are exclusive to Lemaire.and says that these are knock offs. Both lenses are marked LEMAIRE FABI PARIS. All mother of pearl inlays are in tact, and are wonderful working condition. There are no chips, cracks,nicks,or anything wrong. These opera glasses measure 3 7/8" x 1 7'8 when closed. The original brown leather case is also in good condition. The inside has a brown silk lining, and is not all torn up,it is in good condition. The outside is nice condition. The hinges and locking clasp are not bent, and work well. The leather itself is in good condition,but, does show age wear. These opera glasses are just beautiful, and would make a great addition to the collector. This item came from an estate sale. Please feel free to email me, I'll try to answer the best I can. ANTIQUE FRENCH FABRIC MADE INTO A BEAUTIFUL CUSHION/PILLOW. FABRIC C1800s
I have for auction this stunningly beautiful pillow cover that has been made using the most exquisite french antique fabric that will date to the late 1800s. The fabric is possibly linen and the design is typical of the designs on the wonderful french Aubusson tapestries, I bought three of these cushion covers. This being one of them, made of this stunning rare fabric on an Antique market here in the South of France, so please see my other listings. This pillow cover has been backed with a café crème plain contrasting fabric with a z ip fastener to centre back. It is trimmed in contrasting silk bullion fringe passementerie. The cushion excluding the passementerie measures approx 1 6.5 x1 3.5" or 4 2 x3 4 cms and the passementerie is approx 2" or 5 cms deep. It is in good antique condition with the exception of the tiny ... moregrey marks on the back. Please see photo, I have made no a ttempt to remove these marks. They will possibly come out with gentle spot cleaning. Please feel free to ask questions and if you care to take a look at my other lovely early french items for sale. Antique French Linen and Cotton Bed Sheet Patch Material White Curtain Fabric x2 Ref BR-FT This is a listing for TWO antique French bed sheets. They are very similar in fabric. Texture and colour- so perfect where a large amount of linen is required. Both made from smooth linen metis(an ancient blend of linen and cotton) This is crunchy stiff fabric. Both have a centre seam which shows that they were loomed on the narrow looms which were replaced in this part of France in 1908. So they are both over 100 years old. Sheet number 1 has a small red monogram WS. With each letter being on opposite sides of the sheet. It has a faint storage mark along one fold. Dimensions: 80" x 118" or 202cm x 300cm Sheet number 2 has small red monogram JR to the right of the centre seam. It also has a large patch 15" 39cm square in a creamy coloured ... morelinen. And the surrounding fabric is thinner around the patch. The centre is slightly discoloured which an OXYclean soak should lift, and there are also a couple of rust dots- do see the last photos Dimensions: 78" 198cm wide by 114" or 290cm long Perfect for drapes or projects! These two sheets have worn thin with time, giving that wonderful open weave, gorgeous nearly white tone! Washed over and over and over and dried in the sun, these sheets have become naturally off-white in tone! Slubby, nubby open weave ~ One of these sheets has TWO hand stitched center seams, so they run in each direction! The other just has one hand stitched center seam. Neither is right for heavy weight upholstery jobs because they just won't have the durability needed, however they are my very very favorite sheets for window treatments ~ privacy, while still letting the sunlight shine through the weave ~ Lovely lovely lovely ~ Ideal for a timeworn interior, where textiles that reflect the life that ... morethey have lived are ideal ~*~ Each sheet is detailed below! sheets 004) Measurements and condition: SHEET ONE: 88 inches by 82 inches ~ this sheet is in as found. This is evident by the fact that it was loomed on the ancient narrow looms and has a centre seam done in the tiniest hand stitches. This is an economical way of buying antique French linen fabric in a fabulously large amount. This sheet is made from linen metis(an ancient blend of linen and cotton) and is smooth with quite a few slubs. The fabric is heavy and thick and crunchy- perfect for slipcovers or a bed cover. The ground tone is a wonderful rare pale flaxy beige tone and the stripes are faded black, gold, orange, very thin faded red and off-white. This ticking has a thin twill weave, woven heavy weight. This piece is in poor condition with many holes near the end and in the middle. There are also age marks on this piece in nearly every location. This fabric is a light to medium weight linen and cotton blend ~ STUNNING design ~ This textile was part of a large bed set and dates c1870 ~ gorgeous blue ground, faded unevenly with time ~ Wonderful for timeworn projects which require great charm and character ~*~ The top of this panel has nail holes, surrounded by rust( not taken into account in the measurements, which can be cut away ~*~ Near the middle of the piece, on the right facing side are many many many very small hols, so this piece is not suitable for upholstery, and if using for decorative pillows, some areas will have to be backed for strength ... more~ There is damage near the bottom of this piece and pale marks that didn't wash. As charming as they get! This is an intact ruffle that would have most likely been used as part of a bed set ~ an amazing textile!~ The top is gathered and there is a linen trim that the fabric has been machine stitched to at the top. There is a jute string that has been hand stitched to the top for hanging. This fabric is just wonderful! It is printed using hand carved wooden blocks with some of the design also roller printed. The fabric is a light weight linen and cotton blend. The colors are so wonderful! They include: antique natural ground, raspberry red, pink, turquoise, deep cornflower blue, gray and black!~ The bottom has a machine stitched hem. Ideal ... morefor hanging as is. It has gently faded with time. If hanging this textile in a widow, I would suggest backing so that the little holes don't show. Antique French chintz Indienne border c1810 Jouy fabric
~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~ A rare and wonderful find ~ this gorgeous textile is a length of antique French border fabric dating c1810. Although I have not found the pattern documented. My guess would be that this border was printed by the Jouy factory itself. It is printed using hand carved wooden blocks on to a light to medium weight cotton. This border has a very slight glaze and would have been used as trim for clothing, hats, and home furnishings. This piece uses the most beautiful colors and a gorgeous Indienne design. This lenght was perhaps unused and then used( or re-used) at a later period as there are few machine stitched seams in the wonderful long lenght. the last photograph shows the back of the border) I am selling this border by the one yard lengths( please see below for condition and measurement details) Each edge ... morehas a quarter inch unprinted edge of natural cotton. The colors include: antique pink, purple, soft indigo blue, deep raspberry red and the ground is natural creamy off white. The front fabric is the most wonderful floral fabric, that was printed using a combination of roller printing techniques and block printing. The tones are stunning, delicate and soft~ the tone of the ground is a warm cream tone, and the other colors include: pale blue, pinks, reds, pale gray/blue, camel and a lovely deep sienna purple. The fabric is a medium weight cotton. The photograph of the long panel makes it appear to have uneven fading near the bottom, however this panel is wonderful and evenly, gently faded with time. ~ This panel would be wonderful hung as a curtain or seperated and used as 2 panels. The fabric is ideal for light upholstery, ... morepillows, framing and many many decorative projects. The backing is machine stitched to the front fabric. The front fabric is 2 long panels of the floral design, machine stitched together~( I do have more of this wonderful fabric so please email if interested) panel 1) MEASUREMENTS: This lovely textile measures 100 inches long(8.33 feet) by 58.5 inches wide ~ so. If taken apart, there would be 2 long panels measuring 29.25 inches wide by 8.33 feet long)~ CONDITION: This textile is freshly laundered and ready to use. There are pale storage marks on this textile on the right panel in pale lines. Where it was hung. If gathered and hung as a curtain, this would be very easy to hide. They are pale, but there. There are some tiny spots on this panel, tiny pepper marks in places. There are holes in the bottom right corner of this panel( please see photograph 9) and just above that, there is a tear near the side also. The tear can be easily hand stitched and measure approx. 3 inches. Below the tear, there is a 1 inch hole, again can be stitched closed.
