Stylish. Antique, upholstered bench. The legs/frame are heavy, quality pieces. This is a genuine antique made and signed by the W.H.Howell Co. in GENEVA ILL. The cast iron has a wonderful, aged brass/bronze patina. Great, contoured legs with acanthus decoration and paw feet. The padded bench has some wear on the corners. Everything is there except 4 screws. If needlepoint is not your cup of tea, the legs/base would support a wide range of replacement tops. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BELL / DAMPER PULL TAPESTRY NEEDLEPOINT & BEAD EMBROIDERY
Absolutely stunning antique Swedish embroidered bell pull dating back to the mid 19th century. This piece has gorgeous floral needlepoint embroidery in wool enriched with bead embroidered oak leaves( and edges. In Sweden these pulls were more commonly used as decorations on the pull chains of the damper. That are external on most Swedish fireplaces. The piece is in great used condition; the colours are quite clear and strong. There are only a few stitches, bearly noticable, and very few beads missing. In the upper part(between the rose and it's leaves, see picture) there is a small tear, or more precisely in the canvas but not in the embroidery. Edged with antique braid, lining is intact and the brass handle is beautifully ornate with grapes and vine leaves. Measures approx. 3.7" wide and 29" in length. It is very solidly constructed and is still as solid as the say it was made. ANTIQUE EARLY 19th CENTURY ENGLISH SILK & LINEN EMBROIDERED NEEDLEPOINT SAMPLER
This auction is for an antique hand embroidered sampler circa 1st half of the 19th century(1800-1850's) The religious/moral inspirational verse reads: Happy Are They Whom The Lord His Gracious Name Makes Known And By His Spirit And His Word. Adopts Them For His Own. Upon research I have discovered this verse is taken from a poem written by John Henry Newton(1725-1807) who was an English anglican clergyman. It was re-published by William Gadsby(1773-1844) in a hymbook titled"A Selection Of Hymns For Public Worship" Better known as Gadsby Hymns. After consulting an expert. They thought it was most likely english and dates to the 1st half of the 19th century. It appears to be handwoven linen with silk embroidery thread. This piece is filled with beautiful fiqures& designs. Beneath the verse is a center tree with 6 birds perched ... moreon branches. 16 flying insects/butterflies. 3 birds in flight with insects in their beaks. A flower& leaf border. Smaller trees, flower filled urns, additional birds, critters, foliage& borders. Needlepointed in colors of browns. Yellow, shades of blue& greens, tan, black& cream. It measures approx. 15" x 15" and includes what I believe to be the original frame with wooden back. There is a backer paper board between the sampler& the back of the frame and it bears the design of the sampler itself. The girl/woman who embroidered this piece was named Mary Corner. Her name is needlepointed in the lower corners. There is no date embroidered. There is discoloration around the border. The fabric itself is very sheer. stiff and light. There is some fading of the colored thread as visible in pictures of the back of this piece. It is so well made& displays beautifully! Please contact me with any questions or concerns. Here is an antique foot stool with a needlepoint top. I don't know anything about it. So I'm hoping the photos will answer most of your questions. I love the fancy legs. There is probably a name for that style. There are some scratches and dings which some Old English will help. There are areas where the thread has worn away on the needlepoint.must have been comfortable for your feet in that position. These areas have been colored the dark burgandy. The needlepoint top measures 16 inches in length by 12 inches in width. The stool stands 11 inches tall. If you don't like the show of"age" you could restore it to it's original beauty, although I like it just the way it is. Tracking will be included in the s/h fees. This footstool is child size. It is 10-1/2" long. 8" wide, and 6" high. The wood has lots of wear with scratches and dents all along the edges and corners. The needlepoint is dirty. Offering an antique cast iron footstool with a needlepoint top. It has legs that are hoof like and faces on the center support of each end. There is a twisted bar to stabilize the legs and the stool is quite heavy. The covered was replaced in 1966 as dated on the bottom. The stool measures 16 inches in length and 10 inches in width with no breaks or cracks or stains. I'm not sure if the blue eyes are original or someone has added color. Super heavy stool! This is s lovely antique or very vintage hand made framed tapestry.It is made of wool needlework with the flesh on the women made of pettipoint. It has a midevil or Tudor era look with the costumes the women are wearing. There are several animals worked into the pattern as well. I am certain it was professionally framed. I removed a part of the backing and it shows that the textile is much older then the frame. The size is 25 X 36 Inches including the frame. This textile is in excellent condition with minor fading. I estimate it is late 19th C. This comes fresh yesterday from a very high end mansion estate in Duluth Minnesota.

It measures 16 inches wide. 9 inches deep and about 7 1/2 inches high. I believe that it is from England as I purchased it with a load of antiques from England and Belgium. It appears to be quite old but I don't know the exact age. It is sturdy and can be used with no problems. Due to it's age it looks like it has been repaired. It has had steel reinforcements added underneath the piece and you can see the brackets in the pictures. It also has some spots where the wood is chipped off. 3 of the 4 small wood scrolls on the inside corners have been broken off. That is not very noticeable but I wanted to point it out. The colour is darker on one of the footstools and a little lighter on the other one. A few hairline scratches but the finish is semi-gloss and in great condition. The hand-stitched needlepoint is done in wool yarn and glass beads. The background colour is a soft magenta and one footstool is a little darker than the other one. Around the edge. The colour is purple. All the beadwork flowers are multi-coloured. And there are some missing stitches, but the fabrics are solid. The footstools have the same bases. Pair of Edwardian Period Needlepoint Upholstered Stools Probably England. Circa 1900-15 These fine stools are crafted of solid mahogany. Hand crafted into perfect frames for tight needlepoint scenes. Each scene is a unique and carefully stitched two dimensional country scene of a maiden among trees and foliage with animals in the foreground. The legs are straight and plain, squared and solidified with a stretched gallery of turned rods along all sides of each stool. The underside of each stool cushion is a faux leather nailed around the edges. The finish is a deep polish over the mahogany stain, glowing throughout with a well developed patina across the stools. This gorgeous pair will make an outstanding addition to any place in the home- they are visually unique and add incredible flavor to any setting. The wool needlepoint is hand stitched and in excellent condition. I see no holes or missing stitches. The needlepoint measures 9” x 12” The colors are predominantly forest green. Pale pink, medium pink and raspberry, also apple green, olive, sky blue, french blue and cantaloupe. Around the needlepoint I used a vintage French metallic trim(NOS) The fabric is forest green silk both front and back. This ONE OF A KIND pillow was finished off with the perfect trim. It’s so perfect it looks custom made for the pillow. I have been saving this trim for just the right pillow and at last I found it. The trim is big chunky tassels that are forest green and dark pink. ... moreThe same pink that is in the needlepoint. Together the needlepoint.
