The tablecloth measures a long 79" by 58" wide. It has an interesting tone-on-tone criss-cross woven design in the center section with a 3 1/2" border of silky fabric in a shade darker pink. The 5" around the bottom is solid in the same pink. NOTE: The photo on ebay makes this piece appear almost white. Actually. The color is a really pretty pink. Damask Linen Tablecloth and Napkin Set Triple Monogrammed Yellow French Laurel pattern Here is a pretty yellow antique damask linen tablecloth with 6 matching table napkins. The damask pattern looks to be laurel leaves and wreaths. The laurel leaf damask pattern and the embroidery style of the monogram make me believe that this is a French table set. This is just a guess on my part. The damask pattern is a bright yellow with the background linen a lighter yellow. The tablecloth has a damask leaf pattern is in the center area of the tablecloth and a laurel wreath pattern around the 4 edges of the tablecloth. The tablecloth and napkins have a lovely triple monogram. If your table is smaller you could use this as a table topper with a larger tablecloth underneath and place this tablecloth on the diagonal. Tablecloth measurements: 58” x 58” Table ... moreNapkin measurements: 16” x 16” The tablecloth monogram measurement: 6” x 3 ½” at the widest point. Longest points. Vtg Antique Irish Linen Damask Banquet Tablecloth Napkins Set 1929 Shakespeare Fabulous Set 13pcs Scenes of Shakespeare Plays Unique. This is a fabulous Antique Irish Damask Linen Tablecloth set w/ 12 large lapkin size matching napkins. It came from a Main Line Philadelphia Estate. It's very large and please remember these are most difficult to photograph. Some have been slightly darkened to help show the scenes in the weave. The outside margins of both the napkins and the tablecloth have scenes from plays by Shakespeare depicted on a stage with curtains separating the scenes. The scenes are labeled in the damask weave itself underneath each scene and I attempted to show this in the photos. They include Romeo and Juliet. Coriolanus, Antony& Cleopatra, Taming of the Shrew(on the tablecloth) The Merchant of Venise, Julius Caesar, The ... moreMerry Wives of Windsor(appear on both tablecloth and napkins) and King Lear on the corners of the napkins. There are vignettes of William Shakespeare mid way up the cloth on the corners of both the napkins and tablecloth. The center of the tablecloth has a parade of the characters above the scenes forming a center oval and above them closer to center are a ring of nymph type creatures that look slightly wicked. It's quite the piece! You don't find damasks like this often. Not your typical floral damask by any means. Hand hemmed as expected on a quality set like this. There is a handwritten tag pinned to the cloth showing the measurements and stating this was purchased in Ireland in 1929. It's a fabulously beautiful set. Which is quite unique and in quite wonderful condition. Just exactly the type of item I search for and love to offer my customers. Condition is really nice there are no holes or major stains. This set is untreated. There are faint fold lines from being stored. The tablecloth measures 80" x 63" Is made of sturdy white linen damask(compared to other damsks I have this is unusually sturdy) The damask motif is a sensational single peony design. I did agonize about the flower identification. My ranners up were anemone and poppy. But either the shape of the blossom or the leaves was wrong. To be perfectly onest the shape of the foliage most resambles anemone, then perhaps oriental poppy, but the blossom is off for those) Long sides of the cloth are selvage. Short machine sewn. The textile weighs over somewhat 1/2 lb. CONDITION: Would have been perfect. Had not it been for the fainf yellow spot towards the center of the textile, see the last picture, with the thread spool. vintage rayon satin damask tablecloth 66x53" in pale blue - very pretty
I buy vintage linens at local estate auctions and recently found some great items. Including lots and lots of beautiful vintage linens. I am listing many of the tablecloths first. This is a vintage tablecloth made of rayon in a satin damask weave. With a lavish woven-in pattern of flowers. The cloth measures 66" long by 53" wide, and the fabric is quite drapey and smooth and silky, with a lot of shine. The patterns are stylized large flower blossoms like chrysanthemums and lilacs, with a satin band between them. At the center there is an inner field of about 19 by 18" of the same flowers but in smaller scale. The color is really special: it is a pale ice blue. It was hard to show this properly in the photos, but it is a pale shade of blue. I have laundered and pressed this and found the fabric to be sound. There are no problems ... moreat all with the body of the cloth- no stains or rips or odors- but there is one problem at one corner. There are two laundry tags adhered to one corner and they have caused damage to an adjacent spot. As shown in the last couple of photos. Since the damage is at a corner, it will be easy to hide, but you need to understand the issue. Otherwise, it's perfect and ready for your table. I am storing this in my smoke-free home. Here’s a nice unused vintage linen damask tablecloth with a bold shamrock or clover leaf pattern on the edges and in the corner. In each corner it is signed H. Achterkirchen. The tablecloth has two selvage and two unhemmed sides. It measures 64 inches square. And is in excellent, never used condition. There is some minor storage soiling that will soak out in your favorite soaking solution. I was told this was from a German restaurant in Washington D.C. in the early 1900s. vintage linen tablecloth 82x66" w shamrock + fleur de lys double damask weave
I buy vintage linens and other goodies at local estate auctions. I have some lovely linens to share with you now. This is a vintage tablecloth made of white linen double damask that measures 82" long by 66" wide. It has a lovely soft glossy woven damask pattern that mixed fleurs de lys with sprigs and clusters of shamrocks. The woven-in pattern is larger and more dense along the perimeter but goes all the way through the cloth including the center with smaller patterns. The two short ends have wide hems with a row of laddering or hemstitching. It's a lovely pattern- check it out in closeup. I have laundered and pressed this tablecloth and found the fabric to be sound. There is only one problem with this: there is a faint yellowish spot that was not completely removed by laundering. As shown in the last photo. This spot is located ... more23" from one edge and 20" from the other. I think it will diminish and fade out altogether with further washing, but you need to know about it. Otherwise this tablecloth is snowy white and quite lovely. LOVELY ANTIQUE DOUBLE DAMASK PURE LINEN TABLECLOTH FROM IRELAND! This is a wonderful vintage double damask tablecloth from Ireland new with the tags on. I bought this years ago from an estate sale. Never using it. The tag states the tablecloth measures 70" by 88" There are a wide variety of flowers on the tablecloth including cabage roses dasies and forget-me-knots etc. The color is cream. It is stunning. I have never fully opened it up. Found a couple tiny spots where I just unfolded it. But it was never used. or fully unfolded. Just stored. Very usable and full of vintage charm. The motif is large billowy chrysanthemums and leaves. All edges are beautifully hem-stitched by hand. This wonderful old linen has a soft, smooth feel. We do not starch our linens, we prefer them soft. However if you like more body, this cloth would also hold a fine starched finish. We find no stains. This is a vintage damask banquet tablecloth measuring 65" wide and 95" long and featuring a floral damask pattern Looks like tulips This is a soft natural light to medium weight fabric.
