For auction today is a beautiful& unusual antique Normandy lace runner in shades of beige. Cream& tan. The tan pieces have some embroidery in the centers of the small flowers. The runner is all hand pieced, There is alencon lace, embroidered net lace, and different insertion valiecienne laces. The shapes and overall design is expertly joined by hand mostly overhand stitches. The artist has matched much of the lace patterns in the seams. Size 13 x 26.5" The condition is excellent. I see no flaws or stains. Some of the lace looks white in the pictures but it is beige.Cream or tan: however, the insertion lace may come up white if soaked. The color is very even. Offered for auction today. Is this gorgeous ivory-white, antique lace pillow sham. Overall measurements are about 20" square. The pillow sleeve measures about 14 1/2" square. This is a late 1800's to early 1900's mixed lace or Normandy lace sham with tone on tone Ayrshire embroidery and embroidery on net needle lace. It has a 2 1/2" lace ruffle all the way around. It opens in the back and secures with 2 small fabric covered buttons. The condition is excellent. I found this piece along with a number of other laces and fine linens in a lot of textiles that I purchased recently from an estate. I will be listing more of these pieces in the days to come. It is very rare to come across such a nice piece in such fine condition. Good luck bidding!

Beautiful antique Normandy lace heart shape pillow cover. Pillow cover measures 23" across by 18" This piece is being sold"as found" as it has a few issues. The center medallion does have a couple of breaks in the fabric(see second photo) There are also a few places where the lace needs to be attached to the fabric. Also there are a couple of small breaks on the reverse side(see last photos) I believe it is worthy of repair. Possibly replacing the center with another piece. Interesting antique Normandy lace cloth
This is a real mixture of laces making up what I believe is called Normandy lace. The piece measures 46 inches x 37 inches apx. it seems to be stitched together in such a way as to make it quite strong but the linen Lawn is delicate and so are some bits of the lace. So unless someone is interested in this as a collector-anyone else buying this needs to understand that it needs special care to preserve it. It will not survive harsh washing machine cleaning or ironing without the most conscientious care. Saying that-there are some charming pieces of embroidery and broderie anglais work in this and of course hand made lace. Crochet, and possibly machine lace too. The motif seems to be butterflies. The cloth is in quite good condition though I am sure it has it weak spots. The colour is not white but a creamy white.

The rectangular panel of Normandy lace might have been used on a vanity or dresser. It is actually a patchwork of a variety of different old handmade laces and was often a way to save bits and pieces of old lace and resurrect them into something new and useful. This piece is 39.5” long x 16” wide and includes examples of Tambour lace and Ayreshire whitework along with many other handmade laces. Note the unusual lace pheasants scattered throughout the piece. The condition is excellent for a vintage piece and would make a wonderful addition to any vintage lace collection. It has been kept in a smoke free. Pet free home.

Offered for auction today. Is this wonderful antique silver tone vanity tray with a beautiful handmade Normandy lace oval doily set between glass. Measures approximately 16 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 1 1/8" The silver metal tray, possibly silver plate but not marked, has cast metal feet and handles. The rim is embossed with leaf and geometric pattern. Condition is very good and sturdy. Two of the feet have been reinforced with banding. The lace has darkened slightly with the passage of time to an ivory/ecru shade. There a several small holes in the lace, see photos) but does not negatively affect the beauty of the piece in my opinion. Offered for auction today. Is this rare and unusual pair of late 1800's or early 1900's Normandy lace pillow covers or doilies. They are approximately 28" square and are embroidered with the monogram A. D. I believe that these were likely part of a woman's wedding trousseau. They are completely hand sewn. They are made of a very fine, slightly sheer, finely woven white linen. The color has darkened with age to an ecru or ivory color. There are a couple of small holes, see pictures, and some light staining from being in storage for many years. I have not washed these and they would likely brighten up with proper laundering, but I will leave that up to you. As they are, they are simply beautiful. As this piece is an irregular size. The pillowcase roughly measures 17 by 11 1/2 inches. It is a dark cream color; the pillowcase is double sided and consists of a decorative lace pattern in the front and a tulle back. The cover allows for a pillow form to be slipped in via the back at a side opening. There are no apparent breaks or discoloration- the piece is aged however, so it is no longer white. Normandy lace is less of a technique more of a style of re-using old pieces of lace; this piece is a great example with lots of different types of lace pieced together, most likely with the intention of making a runner or small curtain. There is some 19th century Brussels lace at the top right corner, robust linen reticella needlelace at the top and bottom with some delicate valenciennes bobbin lace here and there. There are other types of lace but most impressive is the central figural panel of needlepoint lace depicting a chariot pulled by a pair of tigers. This is an absolutely fabulous Normandy Lace Bedspread. It is French. Measures 82" by 92" and is a soft cream color. I am selling this for a friend and it was given to her mother in law when she married in 1920. It has NEVER been used! I am showing it on my queen size bed with a darker sheet under to show the pattern. It is for a double bed and has no cut corners like most of the old pieces have to be used with a iron bed or posters. It is just a plain rectangle. I have shown you the small dark spot in the second picture and that is the only flaw.all else is perfect. You would be hard pressed to see the spot when it is on a bed. In sturdy condition for age with lot of yellowish oxide usually found in old textiles but as it is cotton it is easy to refresh and it needs to be sewed in a couple of places in the seam but very little and not holes just the seam a bit open. Will give any project a real antique flair, and superb addition to any collection.

DELICATE ANTIQUE MIXED/NORMANDY LACE PILLOW SLIP Lovely and unusual fine semi sheer lace pillow with a central needlelace silhouette. Completely hand made and in very good condition. A few fine mends in net ground. And embroidered floral panels. Occasional enlarged holes in net. None of these are obvious without close examination. Central needlelace motif is a flemish looking ladies' silhouette. There are 5 point d'esprit panels with applied floral/ foliage decoration. And needlelace medallion inserts. Net grounds are made from braided threads. In a sort of honeycomb shaped pattern. Holes are not uniform in size. These alternate with 5 floral whitework panels arranged in a sort of star shape. Back is made of fine cotton net. Pillow is included; it is not quite big enough to fill out slip properly. But the pinkish lavender satin looks ... morebeautiful with the lace. HEART SHAPED NORMANDY LACE PILLOW COVER
This is a heart shaped Normandy style pillow cover. With a tambour type lace used in the main part of the pillow, the inserts are of a machine lace with swirling leaf and round motifs, connected by brides, and a 3rd type of lace for the flounce. It has a net back. No buttons to fasten. It measures 16" at it's widest, it's 15 1/2" tall. There is one seam separation that has started to tear. This is where the flounce meets the main part of the pillow, at the point at the bottom of the heart shape, it's about 1/4" wide, it could be reattached and disguised fairly easily.
