Here is a 28" long piece and 16" w(no selvages) piece of early primitive pre civil war antique fabric offered for textile collectors for study.It is rather fragile but has a lovely color which is hard to describe and light brown or tan emblem or shield looking things.this is such a unique textile and the unusual color is its great asset) It's width was created by two pieces sewn together by hand.see pic although the color in this picture is not correct too yellowish) If you have been shopping ebay for quite sometime. Antique cotton fabric material brown print geometric
A nice piece of antique cotton fabric rescued from the back of an old tied quilt. A cream and brown print with stripes and snowflake like designs. The fabric is from the 1880's or earlier. It is a medium weight fabric(this has nothing to do with upholstery weight fabric) I would estimate 98% usuable. In great condition. A few tiny holes, no stains. I've tugged in both directions and there is no splitting. Measures 25" wide, selvedge to selvedge, by 14" long. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. This is an older piece and therefor is no longer perfect as the day it was made. Insurance may be added to the cost of shipping.

I picked this lovely chair up at an estate sale in Palm Beach. I was told the chair belonged to the women's Grandmother. The chair did not fit into her home design so she was selling it. This chair was very well cared for as it is incredible condition for its age. There maybe a few very minor blemish in the wood. The rocker feet does have some stain missing from use. Nothing major. The fabric is not worn at all and is very clean. Please see photo's. As I'm not a collector of antique chairs I will describe the chair as I see it. It is stained in a natural color. The stripe on this wonderful textile runs the width, and is the most beautiful tone of natural green, a muted gray/green!~ SO beautiful!~ The stripe runs intermittently, around 25 inches( however this varies slightly throughout the roll) This textile is also extremely wide for these hand-woven linens, at 24 inches wide~ The weave is a plain weave, medium open. The tone of the ground is a warm, natural tone. GORGEOUS 3+ YDS VINTAGE 1900s ANTIQUE COTTON FABRIC FINE DEPARTMENT STORE ESTATE
I was fortunate to attend the estate sale of a family who had a fine department store going back to the turn of the century. Their home was large and beautiful and in the back there was a carriage house. In this carriage house they had stored many items from the store going back to the late 1800s. There were lighting fixtures from the store. Display cases and many other items. Along with these items were yards of vintage fabric from the store, many of them still in the old gauze wrappings and stitched at the top. The fabric had never been sold or used. I will be listing many lots of this fabric in the coming weeks. I am not an antique fabric expert, but believe the fabric dates from the late 1800s to the 1920s. I do not know enough about it to honestly pin it down further than that. There were French antiques in the home and some of the fabric ... moremay be imported. This current listing is for a piece of beautiful floral fabric measuring 38 by 132 inches. It has a very light feel, the weave is somewhat like a gauze. from a laymans point of view) I can almost see my hand through it. It is striking and looks very old to me. Rich to the touch and feel, the fabric is intact and sturdy, I do not see any imperfections that would hinder its use. Although the fabric has tints of light purple, it is over all more antique blue than the picture depicts. The flowers are antique oranges, golds, greens, blues and whites For some reason the camera slightly shaded the blues a purple hue. The true antique blues are sometimes difficult to capture since they have a lot of violet in them. This is very handsome fabric and probably pretty much one of a kind. Thanks for looking.

Shown by the fact it has a centre seam. It is a more lightweight linen, but both are smooth, unbleached, organic French linen. They both have very similar tones in colour- creamy off white with'ecru' stripes of the original colour. Panel 1 has a centre seam along the length. But also a seam across the width. It has machined heams, whilst panel 2 has handsewn hems. These would make perfect drapes. Slipcovers, bed covers etc etc- an economic way of buying ancient linen in a large quantity.
