1880s–1900 Antique Quilt Top. Bowtie Blocks, neat& tidy. Scroll down for additional photos. Size is approximately 68 inches by 79 inches. The bowtie blocks form a lattice network on this late 19th century top. The illusion being that the bowties are floating over the squares The backgrounds are also arranged in diagonal rows by color. And the result is a design that is more cohesive than the usual bowtie compostion. Lots of typical fabrics from the period here: directional shirtings. Woven and printed, maroon prints, bright reds, indigos. Quite a few nice early flannels Block piecing is by hand and by machine both; blocks are sewn together by machine. The top lies flat. Condition is very nice: neat. Clean, crisp, unused, unwashed. A few lighter fabrics are showing some darkening; there are some pale spots. No odors. Large Antique Quilt Top "T Blocks" 84 x 87" Hand Pieced 1880's-1900
This is a wonderful example of a very early quilt top. It is all cottons and measures a large 84 x 87" The block is called"T Blocks" Or"Four T's" and it measures 10 1/2" It dates to the 1880's to 1900 and has marvelous prints. Some are crisp cottons and some have a brushed feel, and as I have shown, the maker sometimes ran out of one fabric and substituted another of a similar color, giving it the charm of a make do era. It is completely hand pieced, even the green print border. The border goes all around, and is 4" I saw only one very small age spot, it is otherwise excellent, with no holes, weak spots, or odors. A very nice collectable top.

Kind of primitive and funky at the same time, definitely one of a kind. The colorful tulips are made of felt pieces that are appliqued onto blocks of mostly wool, some velvet. The applique stitching is done with black thread, which makes a great contrast to the brightness of the flowers. The blocks are hand embroidered together crazy quilt style, using a variety of brightly colored threads. A long strip of red corduroy runs down two sides. The backing is the same red fabric used for the ruffle. The batting, which is a thin layer of cotton blanket or something similar, was sewn to the backing before the backing was applied. There's no quilting, just ... morea few places that are hand tied. All blocks have the tulips on them except for one. Which you can find on the lower bottom right of the full quilt picture. Superstition block, maybe? Size is 64" x 66"+/ This has been used lightly if at all. I don't see any noticeable flaws. Nothing to detract from it. Hand-sewn, finished piece with 2 floral blocks. I don't know the pattern. This piece measures 14" wide by 92" long. It is in excellent condition. Next is another antique hand-sewn piece(shown in the image with a single block in the same pattern) The single block measures 14" square and the sewn piece measures 14" wide by 92" long. There is one noticeable area of tiny specks/stains in one of the pink and white blocks. See close-up image insert. Also. The large center white squares have very light and much tinier widely scattered specks. These are barely there and difficult to see. Otherwise. There is no damage. These redwork quilt blocks were stitched at the end of the 20th century or the beginning of the 21st. There are 32 in all. And all but 5 have signatures or initials stitched into the block. There are depictions of flowers, animals, children and nursery rhymes(Jack and Gill" Some are quite elaborate and intricate, while others are simpler. Each block measures 10 1/2" square. There are some yellow spots on some of the blocks here and there, which might possibly be removed by someone who knows about restoring antique quilts. In my opinion these spots are not very noticeable but you can see them. The second photo shows one of the blocks where the stitching has faded or begun to wear away. Lot of Antique Yo Yo Quilt Blocks 462 Yo Yo Pieces 1930's
Antique Yo Yo Quilt- Rosette Yo Yo Quilt Blocks. The entire quilt measures 45" x 43" 3' 9" x 3' 7" As you can see from the photos it does not have a backing. The rosettes measure 2 1/4"W(each) The overall condition is very good. Some of the rosettes(fabric) have yellowed due to age and there is a slight musty smell from having been stored for many years. A few rosettes will need a stitch or two to connect them. Other then that it can be used as a quilt/throw just the way it is. There are 462 rosettes if you wish to disconnect them for crafts. First. Let me be clear that I know very little about quilts. This quilt top, along with several other quilts I'm selling came from long term storage in a very nice victorian home sale. It measures 6'5" by 7'8" and at an inch per square, contains over 7,000 squares! Amazing piece of work! Looks to be all hand sewn to me. Here's the damage that I can find; There is a separation between some of the squares on one edge and just inside the edge, in 8 squares(8 inches) Also I found one square with a dark stain on the same side and in 9 squares(9 inches) These detractions are all on the same side and if you made the quilt 9 inches narrower these areas would be gone. Or sacrifice one square along the edge and repair/replace these areas. Please see the pictures of these areas. All else seems clean and in good repair, ready ... moreto be finished. I'm just so impressed with the amount of work put into this quilt top that if it doesn't sell, I'll have it professionally finished and keep it myself or sell it for a higher price. Seems to me that this should be a very valuable quilt top, considering it's age and the amount of work in it. Will be glad to combine shipping. Returns gladly accepted if you are not 100% satisfied.

Measures 1 yard 13" in length and 36" in width. This patchwork quilt top is made up of 140 three inch squares. Fabrics are 100% cotton from the 1880's through 1910 and feature shirting fabrics.Black mourning prints, black with textured overlays, brown weaves, and deep reds. This piece is machine sewn and may have been put together at a later date-there are 2 rows ... morewhere the blocks do not line up. There are some blocks that have been piece together-someone used all of their fabric scraps to make 3" blocks. This piece is in excellent consition for its age-there are no holes or tears, just a few(and I mean a few) age spots. Guaranteed vintage-has been stored in my smoke-free home away from sunlight for many years. Also included is a smaller piece from same era that measures 21" by 16" 48 squares) plus another 8 squares. Squares measure 2 1/2" This piece has also been machine sewn. Colors and fabrics are similiar to the other piece with more of a burgundy or cranberry presence. Antique quilt blocks- Flying geese? There are 12 blocks. They are in a cross pattern. The fabric in most of the blocks is probably 19th century. They measure 22 inches from point to point diagonally. I bought these from an estate in Illinois a few years ago. They are all hand stitched. I have included a photo of the close up of stitching on the backs. They are not perfect. They have storage soiling. And there are some shredded or missing pieces. However, from the same estate, I found a few pieces of fabric that one could use to repair the blocks if so inclined. They haven't been cut into quilt blocks yet and also haven't completely been finished. One has a grouping of animals with horse. Bird, cow, buck, lion, etc and other has bunny, goat and baskets. These would be embroidered with red thread and cut into blocks to make a quilt. The redwork on one is finished. But on the other hasn't. The measure 17 1/2 x 17 1/2 inches and 17 x 16 1/2 inches. Antique Vintage Primitive CUTTER Quilt TOP/Block Panels c.1870-80 CIVIL WAR ERA or earlier. This was bought from a Lancaster County. Pennsylvania antique dealer in the 1980's. Size: The quilt top panel of 2 blocks is approx. 22 inches long by 12 inches wide and the accompanied 3 block panel is 35" long by 11" wide. The small Half-square triangles are 1.5" The large Half-square triangles are 11.5 by 8.5 and two have pink stripes. One is pink mini-circles. This pattern is difficult to piece and it is beautifully sewn by HAND. Color: The sashing is blue and white print. Pink lightning bolt print, and STRIPES. There are Mourning prints, Tan, Cadet Blue, Red prints and Shirtings in the patches.
