NICELY QUILTED Hand Stitched Vintage 30's Dresden Plate Antique Quilt! This BEAUTIFUL cotton 20's/30's dresden plate quilt is hand pieced and quilted. With beautiful vintage prints. It measures Approx 78" X 89" and is in Very Good condition. A few small, light stains. I have not tried to clean it. Smells nice and clean. The quilting is SUPERB. With quilting around the perimeter of each piece and in grid and deco/floral designs in the background, all at an even 10 stitches to the inch. The back and hand stitched binding are solid Whit e. Cutter Quilt Piece- Lg - Dresden Plate Very Nice
Hello. This is a piece cut from an antique quilt in the Dresden Plate pattern. This piece measures appx. 26" X 27" and has 1 full plate in very,very nice condition and has a cone edge on 2 sides. The one edge has some light- med. wear, and the other is in nice condition. The only flaw in this piece is a small dark mark, which I have shown in the pictures. This piece is clean and ready to craft with and was hand quilted with a cotton batting. This would make a wonderful pillow top or small wall hanging or cut up for smaller projects. Impeccably hand stitched paisley/floral feed sack patterns in a Dresden plate fan fashion. Heavy quilting adds a cozy weight to the quilt. It’s in excellent condition considering its age. Up for auction is a collection of 297 unsewn. Hand-cut fabric pieces and 10 hand-sewn pieces intended for a Dresden Plate applique quilt. The fabrics represent a library of 100% cotton feedsack fabrics that were used to make quilts and clothing in the first half of the 20th century. There are florals, ditties, geometrics, and several charming novelty prints. The pieces are 5" long, 2 3/8" wide at the top, and 3/4" wide at the bottom. In green floral fabric as well as stripes in very pal shades of tan& blue. Each dresden plate square is 13.5" x 13.5" The most damage is along the bottom and left side(see photos) as well as a few other small ones. Also has a few repair spots(see photo) but most of the squares are salvageable. It has been washed& line dried. Hand stitched quilted and green border is machine stitched. Offering a wonderful vintage hand pieced hand quilted patchwork quilt! It is in a Dresden Plate variation with large sunny golden yellow centers and jadite green borders. The fabric appears to be from the 1930's and is a wonderful variety of prints and measures79 by 93 inches. The backing and edges are white with nice tight even quilting. There are no stains or holes and the fabric is nice and strong. The only issue I can find is along one of the edges there is a piece of the edge binding that has a small piece out of it as shown in the third picture. Beautiful colors. Workmanship and condition! Up for auction is a beautiful handsewn quilt dating early Depression. It is in excellent condition- no tears or repairs. There is one little spot on the back that I have photographed. Otherwise this quilt is in perfect condition considering it is almost 100 years old. Antique Vintage 1 DRESDEN PLATE Quilt Block originally from Lancaster County. Pa. c.1930-1940. This beautiful quilt block is approx. 14 inches across and is ALL Hand-Pieced. It is also basted around the center hole and outside edges very neatly. The 17 petals are a mixture of Apron and dress cotton fabrics of the day. Each petal measures 5.25" long and 2.25" wide. The colors are typical 1930's-40's purple. Pinks, blue, with white, etc. This block lies flat. Excellent/Mint condition and project ready. Clean. Strong and sturdy, no spots or stains or loose seams. Vintage DRESDEN PLATE Variation GRANDMOTHER'S Feed Sack QUILT Hand Sewn 82"x74"
We are not sure of the name of this pattern. But the basic idea is the same as the Dresden Plate, so we call it a Dresden Plate variation. It is really impressive, as you'll see below. This quilt is really old and some of the white fabric is starting to fray a little bit. We made pics of all the frayed areas and all the other flaws we found on this quilt. So please check all our photos to have a good idea. The quilt is very thin, with no batting, as you can see below at the points where the fabric has frayed and the bottom of the quilt is visible(no batting as far as we can tell between the top and the backing) The quilt measures 82" by 74' but please notice it has an irregular edge. Spectacular Antique / Vintage Hand Stitched Dresden Plate Quilt
Offered here is this gorgeous antique or early vintage hand pieced and intricately hand quilted summer weight Dresden Plate Quilt. The background and backing are white cotton. While the plates are fashioned of wonderful cotton calico in an assortment of colorful pattern’s. The border on all sides is white. The condition is good with no holes seen to the background or backing, and seventeen of the sections of the plates with some damage… ranging from miniscule to substantial fabric loss of the individual section, to put that in perspection there are nineteen sections per plate and twenty plates all together. There is some age related yellowing to the fabric. This quilt is a beauty and displays nicely. The lovely diamond quilting is done at about 7 to 8 tiny s.p.i. The measurements are approx. 90” by 74”

BEAUTIFUL, Pink and pastels 1930-40’s, hand quilted DRESDEN PLATE QUILT
What a delightful. Cozy 1930’s quilt! It’s heavily quilted at 7-8 stitches per inch. The pattern is Dresden Plate. The plates are 14” in diameter, and the centers are 6 ½” wide. The quilting echos the pink flowers, is 1” intervals throughout the quilt and has a ¾” wide grid pattern in the centers of the plates. I see all kinds of fun, pretty fabric. There are feathers, tiny elephants, many florals(all sizes) daisies, polka dots, checks, stripes, geometric circles, etc. The colors are pink, soft pinks, lavenders, blues, yellows, reds, and greens. The background and backing is a soft white. The integrity of this quilt is very good. It shows no signs of wear, and smells fresh. It’s soft, thin and cozy. Lovely Vintage 1930's Quilt Dresden Plate Variation Hand Quilted, 74 x 82"
This auction features a wonderful classic vintage 1930's quilt. It is all cottons and the pattern is a variation of Dresden Plate. This one has points at the ends of the petals so is called Aster. Or Sunflower. It measures 74 x 82" The background is white and there is a marvelous amount of 1930's pastel prints. There are 30 blocks and they are 13" The sunflowers have been skillfully hand appliqued to the block. The blocks are machine pieced together and then it has been hand quilted. There are parallel lines in the blocks and concentric circles in the sunflowers, and the quilting shows very well when lying on a bed. The bat is between a light and a medium. The edges have been finished in a knife edge- turned and hand closed. The backing is the same white cotton as the front. It is in very good condition with no stains, holes ... moreor weak spots. Estate and Antique* This is an original signed and numbered(15 by M A Whiting. in several places. The Dresden Plates are appliqued onto this quilt top. It is 80 by 63 inches. They are not placed evenly and I think Ms. Whiting may have been elderly by her signature which is inked. The one edge for about 15 inches is not completed with the overlay embroidery as pictured. I don't think it was ever washed. But I am not a quilter. Museum quality I was told, Folk art-styled. I have a table cloth/ quilt top which is an alphabet sampler quilt top which is dated 1894. This is circa 1890's. Has minor stains/ little to speak of. Got as many pics in as possible. Hand Done as much as possible by the looks. Vintage Dresden Plate quilt top is made up 20 pattern blocks. Each pattern block piece is cut from colorful print and solid color fabrics including feedsack prints. The pieces are hand appliqued onto a lavender background fabric. Some of the fabric used in the blocks have cute figural fabrics with designs including puppies and bunnies. The blocks are machine stitched together and the top is finished with a pieced border. This top measures approx. 72 x 92 inches. It is in good condition but will need some TLC. The pieced border is frayed at the edges- this could be remedied by trimming the scallops back. The top has not been laundered and there are some brown spots on the fabric. A fabric used in one plate has some damage which is not very noticeable and can be seen in the last photo. The applique work has a little loose stitching that will ... moreneed to be repaired. Vintage Hand Sewn GRANDMOTHER'S Cotton QUILT: DRESDEN PLATE Variation? 76"x62"
We are not sure if this is a variation of the pattern called Dresden Plate. Or if it is different kind of"plate" Please check our pics and you be the judge, as our knowledge of quilt patterns is not good at all. The quilt seems to be old. Hand made, and the fabric is all cotton, from what we can touch and feel. It is thin, but it has some batting. The fabric on the top has been washed many times and it has faded a bit and at some points, as you'll see below, it has open up a little, but there are not that many damages as one could expect in something this old. We made close-ups of all the damages. But it might be one small hole or stain escaped us. But we really tried to be thorough in our photographing of the damages. The quilt has a"chain" stitched pattern on the white part. As you'll notice below. It reminds ... moreus of the knitting on the front of a fisherman's sweater, a little bit like a strand of DNA, but we don't know if the name"chain" is the correct one. Please check the photo. Vintage Quilt Top DRESDEN PLATE with DIAMOND BORDER Feedsack Small Plates
Great Dresden Plate Feedsack Quilt top from the 1930s- 1940s. It is in remarkably good condition for its age and has been very well scared for over the years. All the fabrics are nice and crisp and the colors are rich and unfaded. Constructed entirely by hand and very strong. SIZE: The overall size is 76" X 86" inches. There are 56 blocks measuring 10" inches each. Each plate is smaller than average size at 7- 1/2" inches with a center measuring 2- 1/2" inches across. Original centering pencil mark is still visible at the center of each block. The diamond border measures 3" inches wide and is original to the top. CONSTRUCTION: Each plate features a nice collection of authentic printed feedsack fabrics. I found one nice rare juvenile novelty with a bunny. Each plate is finely hand appliqued on good strong cotton ... moremuslin. The blocks and border are all hand pieced/assembled at 6- 8 stitches per inch(counted top side only) in nice even and straight stitches. CONDITION: This quilt top is in excellent condition. There are no rips. Tears or areas of wear to note. The colors are uniform. The condition of the fabrics is excellent. This top has never been washed and still holds its original sizing and starch. There is some very minor pin head sized foxing that is hard to find, one spot on a red and white striped petal and one very small dark spot on the ground. There is a no odor to this quilt top and it does not appear to have been exposed to smoke. Pets or abuse. It look as if it has been kept from exposure to sunlight. This beautiful quilt top is in pristine condition and comes from the estate of collector who has cared for her textiles like treasures. Overall condition is good with 1 small hole seen on background of front of quilt. 27 of the plates have some damage ranging from small to total fabric loss on individual sections of plates. Some fading and yellowing due to age of quilt and there are a few small stains. Border of quilt is jadite green. Antique Vtg 30 block DRESDEN PLATE on FEEDSACK QUILT TOP 70"x 58" c1930-1945
Antique Vintage DRESDEN PLATE Quilt TOP or Coverlet c.1930-1945 This is composed of 30 FEEDSACK blocks that are flat-felled(raw seams are concealed) hand and machine-sewn together making a finished backing. It is 5 blocks across by 6 blocks down. A beautiful assortment of 1930's colors. Each block is individually approx. 11" square separated by a half-inch pink stripping. Four of the pink strips are sewn down by machine very neatly and all the rest are just basted in place. See pix#9 where a pink strip is not basted down all the way and shows the background fabric seam is hand-sewn. The plates themselves are 10.5" across with a 3.5" pink center. The 17 petals are varied colors of PINKS. Beautiful BLUES, GREEN, YELLOW, PEACH, PURPLE/ORCHID, etc, print fabrics which are almost like new. The quilt is pictured in quarters in ... morepix#2& 3, and#5& 6. Could be used as a shabby-chic-ish table cover. Or add a dust ruffle to 3 sides for a bed coverlet or any number of other projects. Perfectly clean condition. With only two small spots as shown in pix#10 and#11, no loose seams or holes. The back has some foxing. Terrific workmanship. Maybe 30s- 50s feedsacks, hand stitched with black thread. Please note. I have soaked this for a short while(1/2 hr) to see if the freckles- age spots would come out. some of them did. Inconspicuous, smaller one shown in a photo. This has not been laundered and is'as found' in the estate. On the front there are a few very small brown stains. On the back there are quite a few light stains and small brown stains that are not visible from the front(very difficult to photo light colored stains. Some are like old water stains that have darkened. All photos taken outdoors in natural light) Some small darker stains on the back. Most shown in photos which are representative, most but not all stains were photographed. The green binding is stitched on by hand. Vintage 1950's Dresden Plate Pattern 76 x 96 Quilt Top. It is hand pieced and applique by hand and is sewn together on a sewing machine. There are various colors and patterns of very pretty cotton fabrics backed with a white cotton and finished with pink and yellow cotton fabrics There is an embroidered signature by the maker and dated 1955 at two places. One is completed and the other one has a penciled pattern and is partially embroidered. This quilt top is in very good condition with no holes. Loose or missing stitches, serious stains. There is however, all over light spots due to storage. These spots will easily soak out. This quilt top has been stored for years and has not been laundered. Yet fair, these ancient calicoes Bespeak the patient work of one who knows No weariness in finish or design. Amy Smith Very nice applique quilt made in the 1930's in the Friendship Ring pattern. Also known as Dresden Plate or Aster. It measures 82" x 73" All 100% cotton ~ Every color& print you can think of is in this quilt. There are reds& blues, greens& pinks, purples& orange in calicoes& other small floral prints, all pieced by hand and appliqued to a crisp, clean white backing. Please excuse my poor photography. The backing is white; it is not tinted blue. just my poor picture taking skills! I fell head over heels for this quilt for 2 reasons. I love the pretty floral sashing(a ... moretiny coxcomb print) in pink& green but the real reason was because the"ring" pieces are so small. Each piece measures only 1/2" x 2" It's in very good condition with only two loose seams on one piece of fabric. There are no stains& no fraying. The centers of the rings are quilted in a 3/4" grid design while the body of the quilt was done in diagonal lines. The sashing was quilted in a twisted rope design, all done with 8 spi. This is a weightier quilt even though it has a thin to medium weight cotton batting. Please take a look at the other quilts I have listed. I'm happy to combine shipping costs for you. Large Antique/Vintage Feedsack DRESDEN PLATE Quilt Top. Never Washed Description: ANTIQUE/VINTAGE DRESDEN PLATE QUILT TOP Beautiful antique/vintage 1930s large quilt top in the Dresden Plate pattern measuring approximately 104" long and 88" wide. Hand made and hand stitched at about 6-8 spi. Stitches are small and even- I find no machined areas anywhere on the quilt- amazing considering there are long areas of straight sewing- but every stitch is done by hand! Pieced with a large variety of vintage cotton feedsack materials which have been appliqued into place, background is a medium yellow-orange in a small print which forms the sunflower centers and it is divided by and edged in a wide, medium green border. Condition is excellent- I've been over it many times and find no separation. Fraying fabrics, holes, tears or damage ... moreother than the 1" pulled area on one seam(not separated) and the tiny, faint line of rust spots shown in the photo on one plate background- think these can be removed but will leave to someone more knowledgeable than myself- they are very non-impactive, and blend into the pattern. Quilt has never been laundered and lays completely flat- I don't see any puckered or pulled areas- smells clean and is ready to finish- the salvage edge is stamped A.B.C. EIGHTY SQUARE FAST COLOR PERCALE. Just a charming, cheerful quilt- large enough for a king size bed or as shown on a queen with a deep drop. ANTIQUE DRESDEN PLATE QUILT W /CONE BORDER, EXC CONDITION
This 1930's dresden plate quilt is just gorgeous and its in excellent condition. Looks unused and the fabrics are vibrant. Great old cotton prints, feedsacks and novelty prints. each plate has 20 petals, there are 16 blocks total, each 17" square. The plates are hand appliqued and then each plate is marvelously hand quilted in an echo pattern around the outside. 4 rows of hand quilting, one half inch apart, 8spi. Each petal is hand quilted down the two long sides and the yellow centers also have 4 rings of hand quilting. All hand appliqued on thick old fashioned muslin so the quilt has great texture. Sashed in royal blue and finished with a rectangle/cone border. Hand closed binding is in excellent condition,Backing is white cotton, batting is thin cotton. In fact this quilt is clean and free from any wear. The only thing i can say ... moreis that an area of the sashing doesn't line up perfectly and i have shown that in pictures 8,9&10, different views so you can judge if its bothersome. In the hanging picture its the bottom row. The quilt measures 82" x 84" Very pretty. This soft Dresden Plate Quilt was probably made in the 1950's. Each of the 13 blocks in this 72" x 88" quilt has a 10" Dresden Plate block hand appliqued and accented with black embroidery. This quilt is loosely hand quilted over a soft batting to a solid white back with a wide sateen binding. This quilt is in nice condition but it is NOT perfect. ANTIQUE DRESDEN PLATE QUILT BLOCKS, YO YO PIECES, CHEDDAR FABRIC
I have a neat assortment here and i am just not sure what all needs to be done: there are 13 dresden plates. 2 of them have the cheddar centers pinned in and there are 9 more cheddar centers cut(so 2 would be without cheddar centers) Of these 13 plates I think the maker had a little trouble making them lay flat but I don't sew so I might be wrong. I would say 6 of the circles look like they are good. Plus the two pinned ones. The other 5 look they won't be quilte flat. If you look at the last photo I see where she took one plate and folded a petal in on the backside, like a tuck or a dart( I do remember that from home ec: Now maybe these will be fine once they are pinned down to a backing. I also have these yo yo circles that are also out of fabulous vintage 1930's fabrics.
