This item is in used condition and does show signs of age as well ... moreas wear. As seen in the photographs the border around the red is very brittle and is starting to split. The backside of the tapestry also has splits in it as well. There are also some water spots both on the red silk and on the back of the tapestry. It Appears that the red silk could be removed from the border as it is handstitched on and either given a new border and backing or you just the way it is. This piece is highly detailed with Dragons circling each other on the front as well as a lot of floral and leaf work that is all individually threaded and hand sewn. Again this piece is old and does show signs of wear. It could be hung on a wall the way it is and the flaws would not be extremely noticeable. The top of the tapestry has eight black loops to slide a pole or rod through. I would reinforce these loops again as the fabric is brittle that they are sewn onto. The entire width of the piece is 76 inches wide by 86 inches tall. The red silk section is 66 inches wide and 80 inches tall. The fabric does have an age smell to it from being stored in a trunk that was in an attic. It does not smell moldy or it has no mold on it. Thanks for looking and have a great day! Posted with

This is a magnificent panel from an Uchikake Kimono featuring a splendidly rendered soaring crane. Against a background flower carts overflowing with multi-colored blooms. There are also two areas of solid gold framing the carts and the Crane.There is a small red shoulder drum in the lower right corner. This panel is embroidered with gold metallic and colored silk threads on a silk ground. The ground of this panel. Depending on how the light strikes it, shows as a light purple or a deep maroon. This panel dates from sometime in the early 1900's. The Uchikake is a wedding garment. Often heavily brocaded and is meant to be worn outside the actual kimono and obi. As ... morea sort of coat. The obi is not tied around the uchikake. The latter is supposed to trail along the floor. This is also why it is heavily padded along the hem. Antique Stevengraph French Woven Silk Picture. The details are wonderful! This is signed P. Tarrant on lower left. And on the lower right the letters"NF" stands for Neyret Freres) on the lower right. The actual stitching measures 7 3/4" x 6" the cloth is 8" x 6" The backing is intact as well as the top and bottom borders of the cloth. Backing has paper tag attached that is marked, Made In France. The borders have been folded over. It had once been matted and framed under glass. As you can see it is in very nice condition. Antique French Neyret? Silk weaving, Perdus Dans La Foret" lost in the forest} after a painting by Wunsch It is not signed, marked anywhere that I can see. I did not take it out of frame. I believe it is French in origin was most likely produced by Neyret Freres. This item is from a estate. It had been professionally matted and framed under glass. The frame is 19" x 14" The actual silk work is 11 1/2" x 7 1/2" I did lighten the photos to show more detail. Hard to get a good photo of the actual look of the silk. My photos of it do not do it justice. In real life the silk is bright and has shimmer, the coloring of the silk changes according to the light and the angle of the picture when looking at it. This lot includes 33 antique and 12 modern skeins of silk thread. The 33 antique skeins are Pearsall's Mallard silk embroidery floss. All the skeins still have their original tag. S hades include grays. Browns, reds and pinks. The thread has a nice sheen- it's not the high gloss of imitation silk or rayon thread but it's not a matt finish. The green colored skeins and some of the grey are modern but are also silk. There are six colors of the antique floss that have multiple skeins of the same color. Smoke and pet free home.

Purple thread is silk and in excellant condition with tissue band wrap around still in place. Texto is the maker and spool holds 30 yards. Red and black thread is cotton and the makers are Ace and Merricks. Paper labels on ends of spools on these two in good condition also. Circa: 1890-1900' It is hand-made of the hand-loomed pure silk fabric"Shohi" means royal) of the very beautiful violet color. It is lined with the Russian trade printed cotton. Trimmed with hand-embroidered strip"Zeh" Size is length-52 in. Chest- 44 in, From the end of one sleeve up to another- 69 in. Kaltacha" or"Mursak" in Ferghana valley and Tashkent) was a traditional women clothes in the 19th C. It differed from ordinary robes by their cut: lack of adjusted collar. The collar was a little taken out on the breast, the back was narrow— nimcha"small twig) front and lateral wedges slightly were widen to the bottom, under arms gathered together as a bunch of folds— chucha" On the edge the kaltacha was ... moredecorated by a braid of hand-made wickerwork called"zeh"and had bright, good-looking lining with borders— farovez" both sides had small cuts. VINTAGE SILK THREAD TEXTILE BOBBINS These are great old bobbin spools of silk thread. These are from a textile mill and were used in making the labels in clothing. These were made in many colors as shown in the photo displayed in the basket. This listing is for a package of 10 multi colored silk thread bobbins. I have a number of these bobbins and have listed several listings by color and also some multi-colored groups. Each measures approximately 3" long X 1/2" diameter.

ANTIQUE EARLY 19th CENTURY ENGLISH SILK & LINEN EMBROIDERED NEEDLEPOINT SAMPLER
This auction is for an antique hand embroidered sampler circa 1st half of the 19th century(1800-1850's) The religious/moral inspirational verse reads: Happy Are They Whom The Lord His Gracious Name Makes Known And By His Spirit And His Word. Adopts Them For His Own. Upon research I have discovered this verse is taken from a poem written by John Henry Newton(1725-1807) who was an English anglican clergyman. It was re-published by William Gadsby(1773-1844) in a hymbook titled"A Selection Of Hymns For Public Worship" Better known as Gadsby Hymns. After consulting an expert. They thought it was most likely english and dates to the 1st half of the 19th century. It appears to be handwoven linen with silk embroidery thread. This piece is filled with beautiful fiqures& designs. Beneath the verse is a center tree with 6 birds perched ... moreon branches. 16 flying insects/butterflies. 3 birds in flight with insects in their beaks. A flower& leaf border. Smaller trees, flower filled urns, additional birds, critters, foliage& borders. Needlepointed in colors of browns. Yellow, shades of blue& greens, tan, black& cream. It measures approx. 15" x 15" and includes what I believe to be the original frame with wooden back. There is a backer paper board between the sampler& the back of the frame and it bears the design of the sampler itself. The girl/woman who embroidered this piece was named Mary Corner. Her name is needlepointed in the lower corners. There is no date embroidered. There is discoloration around the border. The fabric itself is very sheer. stiff and light. There is some fading of the colored thread as visible in pictures of the back of this piece. It is so well made& displays beautifully! Please contact me with any questions or concerns. A delightful unframed antique Georgian sampler. Beautifully worked by Elizabeth Snook in fine silks on linen. The bands of pattern and pretty pastel colours indicate a date of around 1800, perhaps earlier. Snook is an unusual and rare surname, found in the West Country, most likely Dorset, where there are several recorded births for girls named Elizabeth Snook in the 1700s. It is embroidered with alphabets, numbers and three religious verses. It's an old Victorian sewing or dresser box covered in gorgeous sage green silk and dripping with gorgeous antique bridal lace. The lids is done with a rope trim and a rosette which has flattened out a bit. Looks like the top used to be pink but has since faded. Measures 10" x 10" x 3.5" tall. Inside is covered in a pretty faded pink plaid silk. It is in very ... moregood shape for it's age considering it's about 100 years old. There are a few light spots here and there but nothing horrible. The worst I saw was UNDER the lace where you don't see it. Not on the lace but under it. There ae a few tiny little holes in the silk but nothing horrible or unusual for the age. It's a gorgeous piece to sit out on your dresser or sewing stand to display. Satin brocades, silk, and damask. Each piece is edged with feather stitch embroidery using a variety of colors. Pink. white, blue, yellow, coral, orange, greens, purples and magenta. Two dozen or less pieces are frayed. Fraying or cut out from the quilt top. Please see photographs. Crazy quilt top is bordered with pink and grey fan design brocade satin. The border is feather stitch embroidered on both sides of the border with mitered corners. ANTIQUE/VINTAGE/1930s HANDMADE PURE SILK SATIN JACKET~ALENCON LACE~NEVER WORN~ML
Exquisite hand sewn salmon pink glossy pure silk satin(burn tested) jacket dating from the 1930s. Featuring shaped front; three-quarter length sleeves gathered at shoulder and cuff; cream Alencon lace trim; pink ribbon ties and bound edges. In great never worn condition ~ one miniscule spot stain to the back and a scuff hidden in the folds of one wrist area ~ and measuring 21" underarm to underarm and 23" at the longest point ~ about a size 12-14. Very rare to find in such great condition. Probably made for use as a bedjacket but ideal as an evening jacket. This is made by the same seamstress who made a very similar jacket I sold last week. This listing is for antique pure silk ribbon. It is a wide ribbon in pewter and champagne. One can see the narrow ribbing between the shimmering stripes and the matte stripes. This is very old. And although there are no bugbites, there are alot of weak creases and splits from being stored for many, many decades. The color is amazing as well as its sheen, but one will want to handle this with the respect due its era. It is not"melting" or"shattering" but has lots of these stress places and splits as seen in photo#3. Small pieces of this silk. A large variety of stunning novelty prints make a wonderful combination. Fabulous piece of textile. Simply gorgeous! Measures 80 x 64 and hand-quilted. There is some wear here and there throughout. Some shattered patches of the silk and satin fabric. And the wear is mainly on the stars around the edge of quilt. See pics for examples. None of these go through to the back. However. You have to really look closely to see them as they blend right in! And several small age related stains. Otherwise, this beauty is in good condition for an antique quilt! Please keep in mind that these are vintage and antique quilts. So there may be some small loose seams and some age related stains.
