Filled with a thin cotton batting. Very good condition. There are a few small spots from long term storage mostly on the back. The family states that the maker loved quilting and even entered a quilt in the Chicago Worlds Fair. 1933. This lovely quilt features a crisp. French blue and white. Probably an original design. With blue pinwheels and fleur de lis medallions. The border continues the fleur de lis design. It measures 81" x 73 1/2" It is densely hand quilted at 7-8 stitches per inch. Hand bound. In very good condition. We found a couple of teeny repairs, and light age spotting(photo'd) Freshly hand laundered. But not spot treated. A beautiful quilt that will be a joy to own! 3 lb 3 oz. Up for auction is a beautiful quilt block from the Shenandoah Valley Mountains. This quilt block is made on what I believe is muslin cream color fabric. The basket of flowers is made with cotton fabric. Tans. Greens, pinks, blues and yellow are the primary colors. The size is approximately 17" x 17" The age is unknown. The black stitching makes this design really"pop" It is ideal for a pillow or any of your repurposing projects. I do not see any stains or tears. Each design is hand appliqued. Using a tiny blind stitch, onto a 15" block. This is a summer quilt with no batting and minimal quilting. The quilting is done only around the outer edge of each block. A beautiful antique quilt. Not sure how old, put together on white and yellow fabric forming squares, with hand stitching and some needlework in the details of each Sue. We made pics of almost each block, maybe 3 or 4 are missing. then we also made several detailed, close-up photos of the Sunbonnet Sue that is on the right foreground corner on our general photo below, so you can see the details of the sewing and the needlework on this particular piece(but each Sue has the same needlework, so that you know) Each large block is 17" by 17" Give or take. Each Sue is 13" tall. The quilt is approximately 90" by 72" The bed used for the pics is a queen size that measures, give or take, 80" by 60" The quilt has some damage on the top. Some on the back. What a beautiful Vintage quilt kit just in time for Christmas gift giving. This quilt will become a family heirloom and would make a gorgeous displayed during the Holiday. This is an vintage kit that has the air of the 1930's but I am guessing this kit was put out in the50.S 60's. There is no actual date on the package or inside the instructions. The quilt comes in it's original store packaging with the Stewart's Department Store Label. It sold for $17.60! There were several Stewart's Department stores from my research(Lower Manhattan and one in Baltimore, Maryland. but the store label looks much like the writing from the Louisville, Kentucky Store. I do not know if they were one ... morein the same or all different ownership. The package was opened and the kit is in pristine condition! The quilt and applique pieces are still in factory folded condition. The red and green binding are still folded and secured with factory ties. The directions are yellowed from time and some what wrinkly and the main picture does have a slight tear and is wrinkly. The quilt top measures 84"x100 suitable for Twin or Full beds. The quilt top is listed as white but it has turned ivory from time. There is blue printed design throughout the quilt top for quilting process. I am including all the floss colors listed with exception to#498 Dark Red. I could not find it at my local store. The DMC colors listed with the kit do not seem to match up with today's DMC colors Dark Green is now a Olive color green. So you may need to adjust the colors to your taste. It has applique quilt squares with butterflies which are made with fabric which is from the 1920’s or earlier. It is rounded at one corner which is curious. It is otherwise squared off. This is probably a piece you will want to restore anyway since the peach colored binding has some spots and some separations. One end of the piece is oddly devoid of butterflies. All that being said. This wonderful quilt looks like a garden in bloom! It is about 86" x 75" Back is the same unbleached muslin as the front background, nice and crisp. There are two spots that are barely noticeable, one is an ink mark toward the bottom of the quilt, the other is a water mark toward the top, there is also a water mark on the back, and there is a shade of soiling on the edge, I didn't wash, will leave to new owner if they think it is needed. It is machine quilted in a less than 1" diagonal square design, thin cotton batting, all cotton fabrics of course, no edge wear, no holes. An exceptional and stunning find! You can't help but smile when you see this quilt! Its so cheeful that i could picture it on Beaver Cleaver's bed-its right out of the early 50's. All cotton hand appliqued flkowers and leaves. Triple borders of blue, green and yellow. Nicely hand quilted around the interior and exterior of each flower. 8spi. Each block is 6" square. backing is heavy muslin and it has a medium thick cotton batting. Its a fairly heavy quilt. In very good condition, no wear to the fabrics no stains on the top side. About 4 small spots on the backing, largest is hown in the last photo. Its 78" x 78" and its shown on a fullbed. About as cheery as it can get!

For sale is a beautiful antique appliqué rose quilt. I would date it approximately 1930s. Bright and clean! Has no holes or repairs. SPI is about 8-9. Scalloped on all sides. Measures 86 inches long and 64 inches wide. I have not washed the quilt. There is a very faint area of yellow by the bottom left corner. Applique is done very well. A beautiful heirloom quilt!

Breathtaking Estate Find- Fabulous Colors Too! Hand Sewn Vintage Fan Applique Piece The next question is- outside of a quilt piece. What was this made for? I don't know, if you do please pass it along. It would make a fine looking pillow top. Measures app 15" down each side- fabrics are satin and/or silk type and have a quality look to them. There are 2 small holes in the lace as seen in photo. Piece has been well done. After looking carefully it appears that the whole piece is handsewn with no machine. If a machine was used it was only to sew the top pieces together. But I still think it was by hand. The stiches look"almost" the same length but not quite. However done the work is superb. The backing is a stiffer chintz I think. The lace was also attached by hand and the ribbon as well. What got me to looking so close was ... morethe chenille edging/ piping. It is also sewn on by hand. That was the first thing I checked. Date? Can't say for sure. I would say probably 1920s- It was with my personal stash of vintage linens for craft projects. I put it away with many other favorites about 15 years ago. I bought it at an estate sale in Ava Mo. All of the textiles I bought at that sale were really old- teens-30's. What a memorable sale that was. The folks lived very simply there and"sort of" farmed- they were so far out and down in the holler and away from civilization I never expected such nice things. My treasure-trove of memories for you Josephine Day Mickelson This pretty applique quilt is called"Dogwood Beauty" and it was made by Elsie Hughey of Sharon. Pa. Janurary 2, 1919- November 2, 1996) She embroidered he name in one of the corners. Elsie was an avid quilter& she was known around the Sharon& Farrell Pa. areas for beautiful crochet work as well. This quilt is really nice with light& darker pink dogwood blossoms, light brown branches vining like a trellis, and green leaves. The leaves' veins& tips of the blossoms have been embroidered. all on a crisp& clean white backing. Made from 100% cotton ... more~ a medium weight cotton batting. The quilt measures 83" x 68" is in excellent condition with only one very light stain that can barely be noticed(see picture#13, along the border) It's very nicely quilted too ~ diagonal lines outlining one another to form diamonds is quilted within the trellises& every piece of applique has been quilted around. Here is a vintage handmade& handquilted quilt! It is pink and white with Sunbonnet Sue blocks. The back is white. The light pink and white make a pretty background for the Sue blocks. The blocks have been hand appliqued and embroidered. Outlined in black straight stitches, lots of pretty details in each block. This beauty measures approx. 64" x 88" Each block measures 10 1/2" x 11 12" The quilt has 20 Sunbonnet Sue blocks total. Each'Sue' was worked in a different color. Lots of pretty colors. Judging by the feedsack fabrics and pastel printed. I would estimate the blocks to be from the 1930's. The girls face left on 10 blocks and right on 10 blocks. The quilt blocks measure approximately 15" X 14 1/2" I have seen no holes or stains. The black buttonhole stitching is partially completed on one block and two have no buttonhole stitching. Hand appliqued on C&H feedsacks. Feedsack stamps and feedsack holes on every block(the stamps should soak out if desired) Plain and printed feedsacks are used. They printed patterns have great feedsack prints including purple leaves. Sunflowers, daisies, polka dots, geometric and more. Some have black blanket stitch on the applique. They measure about 15" x 15" each. This set is in good condition. There is light spotting and three tiny holes as shown in photos. 8 oz. T530. VINTAGE QUILT Item Description: You are bidding on a lovely vintage recent estate find quilt. I am not familiar with quilt patterns. So I do not know what this pattern is called. It is geometric to me with the squares design. I believe this to be hand sewn but I could be completely wrong and it could be machine sewn or combination of both. It measures 100 inches by 86 inches. I would say this is a summer weight quilt maybe a medium weight. But not heavy weight, it is fairly light Colors are White with blue scallop edges. The quilt has an applique of a floral design and leaves. It will be reversable to an all pink floral pattern as the last picture shows. The picture are very good. However this quilt is very well made. There are NO tears to this quilt that I see. Nice quilt to add to your home. THIS IS A MUST HAVE. GORGEOUS 30's Vintage Dresden Plate Antique Quilt with Blue Applique Accents! This BEAUTIFUL cotton 30's dresden plate quilt is hand pieced. Hand appliqued, and hand quilted, with blue"snowball" accents in the background. It measures 76" X 92" and is in EXCELLENT condition. With no spots or wear. There is quilting around the piecework and in straight line. Oval, and cable designs in the background, all at 5-6 stitches to the inch. The back is white. The hand stitched binding is the same medium solid blue used in the interior, and the batting is thin. Whimsical novelty prints can be found in places. The BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE FABRICS. This dates to the 1930-40's era and is made of all cotton. There are prints that feature Figural house print. Gold leaves, and roses. Hand quilted at an expert 9 tiny stitches per inch and is hand bound. Hand appliqued leaves and embroidered vines. There is a quilting pattern of 1 1/4"grid. THe leaves measure just 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" Pencil pattern marks are still visible and the quilt has a thin cotton batting. Measures 86 1/2" x 77" Freshly hand laundered. In great condition. Vintage 1800's Crazy Quilt Hap Velvet Applique Silk Great Condition
Description Offering this Vintage EXCEPTIONAL Crazy Quilt/ Hap. It is done in squares and I believe that each block was done by a different person because the style of each block is different and many have the initials of the maker. It has very few problem areas and I have attempted to show each one and each block in a close up picture. The edging is burgundy velvet and the backing is plain burgundy cotton in perfect condition. The embroidery includes Birds. spiderweb, heart,scissors,flowers, name, initials and more. These old Crazy Quilts with their various velvets and silks are so very interesting and a lovely decoration for a period style room. It measures 60” wide by 92” long. I used this as a coverlet in a room that was never used. I can send additional pictures as I have more than shown here. I DO NOT SHIP OUT OF THE COUNTRY.

LOVELY VINTAGE APPLIQUE QUILT STAR & LILY BUD
I am a big fan of any kind of star quilt and this star and lily bud is very unusual and quite striking. Each block has a pink 8 point star center with 4 lily buds radiating out from the points. There are 12 blocks and they are framed with a purple border from the same cotton used in the lily buds. The stars and the lilies are hand appliqued with nice small stitches. The body of the quilt is hand quilted in 1" diamonds. 9spi. Each star poiint has double rows of quilting through it. Purple border has a cable pattern and the white border is hand quilted in diagnol lines. 8spi. Backing is white cotton. Batting is thin cotton. White binding is hand closed. The quilt has been well cared for. It has nice texture, its clean and free of wear on the front. There is a small area of damage on the back side. There is a faint grey smudge. Doesnt show ... morein the close up, and in that area there are two small surface layer darns. I think the stain could be treated with a degreaser like Dawn but backside stains don't bother me and none of this area shows through to the front. Also at this area there is a small nibble in the binding. Please refer to the last pic and enlarge it, i overlooked this area in my first round of photos because it isnt prominent. Measures 76" x 88"
