Antique lace collar. Perhaps for a child as it is 5 1/2" long when laid as it would aroung the neck, and each side is approximately 1 3/4" wide at widest end. I believe it to be either Point de Gaze, or Belgian Duchesse Bobbin; made. I don't know much about laces. It is ecru in color and is very, very delicate. It is in PERFECT CONDITION. Fabric or repair*Beautiful Point de Gaze lace*Inserts of figural lace*Edged with hand crochet lace*Soft grey antique fabric*25" wide by 50" long Offered here is a beautiful antique table runner. This is a confection of gorgeous antique lace in a deep ecru color. All matching; it is edged on all four sides with a hand crochet lace which is 1" wide with a scalloped edge, then there are four 35" long by 1" wide inserts of matching lace down the panel. That is 290 inches of lace(over 8 yards) On four corners are lace inserts with a figural child that are 5 x 5" in size. Then there are appliques on both ends with three Point de Gaze lace pieces, this has a raised stitched cording hand stitched on top, very thick and three dimensional. All the lace is hand stitched to the material, ... moreso it could be removed without damage, and all the lace is in excellent condition with no damage, it is all cotton. The fabric is a soft light grey with a touch of green, this is an old blend, looks to me like a rayon, silk and maybe nylon. The fabric is sturdy and clean, there is some small areas of damage; there is a small tear off center and some small holes on the sides, just a small dark speck no other stains. It could easily be appliqued if you wanted to use this as is, or the lace removed and still have a lot of use-able fabric. Overall a lovely piece, the lace is fabulous! Please view all photos. RARE ANTIQUE Silk w HM 1850's Belgian Point De Gaze Needle Lace WEDDING TRAIN 8'
Featured for Auction we have an absolute Fabulous Circa 1910's to 1930's Handmade Antique Wedding Train. Whether your getting married or Collect Antique Textiles. This is one Gorgeous Piece! We are not Experts on such pieces, but did consult with an Expert on this piece to its Authenticity. She believes it is certainly Worthy of having a gown made to match! She said young women coming of age toured Europe as part of their Education, and purchased fine laces for their Wedding. She could have worn the cap with a Veil but chose to wear a train. She imagined the gown was a slender column of silk, perhaps ornamented with just a bit of the Beading. The style of cap is more for 1770s to 1860s, but generally worn by older women of the late 1800s. The lace was still wonderful and respected, but the style a bit old for a bride, perhaps it was ... morethe"something old" worn previously by a Relative, all three pieces appearing to be Handmade. This Beautiful piece measures 103" long by 32" at its widest point. 16.5" across at the its smallest. About 8 feet 6 inches long. All handmade on what we believe to be a medium cream silk or satin background. It is very soft and believe it to be silk. Lets start at the beginning of this piece. It has a triangular bodice front piece of what looks to be darker handmade Belgian Antique Point de Gaz Needlelace that measures appr. 16" long on both sides and 8" across at its widest. We can find no damage to the piece of lace. It then is accented with handsewn. What we believe to be mercury glass beadwork in gold and silver, pearls, and rhinestones, 18" across at its smallest width, 10" down in length, up to 21" across, at its widest. You go down another 7" and there is another couple of pieces of darker what looks to be handmade Belgian Point de Gaze lace again. Vtg Antique Rose Point de Gaze Handmade Needle Lace Hand Fan Wedding Bridal This is a gorgeous vintage antique Rose Point de Gaze handmade needle lace hand fan. It is in near excellent vintage condition. The lace leaf is good with minor age tanning and a few tiny net flaws. The shading seen at the bottom of the lace fan near the sticks is not on the lace but the transition of the blades from the tortoise shell color to the light bone sticks in the upper portion of the fan. The sticks all appear to be fine. Very slight nicks in the faux tortoise shell ribbing which are only noticed upon close inspection when closed. The guard sticks are bone and the ribbing faux tortoise shell. A beautiful and unusual piece for the collector. Measures approx. 9-1/2 inches long when closed including the matching bale and spans approx 15 inches wide from blade ... moretip to blade tip when open. Duchesse Brussels Victo rian Anti que Lace Collar and Matching Cuffs This is an antique 19 th Century Victorian Duchesse Brussels Bobbin Lace collar with Point de Gaze lace inserts and matching Duchesse lace cuffs. This type of lace was popular during the Victorian Era from 1840 to the early 1900s for it’s feminine and delicate style. This piece features flowing scrolls and floral themes with a scalloped edge. There are 3 oval point de gaze floral inserts. One in each corner of the collar. The finest examples of Duchesse lace often also had these types of point de gaze inserts. The collar and cuffs are in very good antique condition. There is some variation to the color of the lace and several small breaks in the lace, but no large holes. This hankie, found in my mother-in-laws dresser, is probably from mid-century. There are a few broken threads and separations from linen due to age, plus 2 very very faint spots that I'm sure can be removed with a good soaking. I've pictured the broken threads in the last few pictures. I've carefully examined this precious piece, and can't see anything other than what I've shown you. Pictures are part of my description. Very nice Edwardian or Victorian point de gaze collar. The work is intricate. With small designs. These include two birds, which you can see these in the second and third pics above. It measures about 7" wide, it's 24" tip to tip, as you see it in the pic. There are 5-6 tiny breaks in the net, a few places with light age discoloration. Brussels Point de Gaze Bridal Cap, Vintage. AKA Rose Point
Highly sought-after by prospective brides. Point De Gaze, also know as Rose Point, is a rare and expensive lace because it is hand made. This type of lace dates back to the 1850's, but I have no way of dating this item. It is definitely vintage and possible antique. The lace cap is exactly as I acquired it. It has yellowed with age and needs to be detached from the metal frame and gently washed. The net lining has a tear and can be easily replaced. With the veil attached it would be a magnificent head piece for that perfect wedding gown, an heirloom to pass on.

A very large example of 19 th Century Brussels lace edging in fantastic condition. I don’t think this detailed piece has ever been used as part of a garment. It still has its original‘selvage’ edge which is still intact the length of the lace. It is decorated with beautiful flowers and foliage amid scrolls with a spot ground. The scalloped edges are of varying alternate designs and is intricately worked. I think that it would be very rare to see an example of this lace in such fine condition. The piece is of a good colour with no visible stains. Repairs or damage and therefore in good structural condition. Measures approximately 16’ 192 inches/4.88meters) in length. 9” 23cm) wide.
