Antique Victorian Art Nouveau cast iron fireplace surround with grate in very good solid condition. No cracks or welds and as you can see it is very detailed. Measures 30 1/2 inches tall and 31 1/4 inches wide. Inside is 24 1/2 inches wide, 23 1/2 inches tall without grate, if you measure from top of grate it is 16 1/2 inches. Early antique signed enamel or porcelain over cast iron fireplace surround. Victorian era. Beautiful and ornate with hand painted gold trim over white enamel(or porcelain) with ornate iron cast flames at the base. Clearly marked by the maker at lower center W. M. CRANE& Co. NEW YORK. Three separate pieces. Overall surround frame. Upper center piece and lower"flame" section. The surround measures about 33"x 33" to the outside and about 23"x 23" to the inside. Absolutely no breaks to the iron. Some chips to the porcelain here and there as expected.easily touched up with enamel stove paint. We estimate the weight to be in the range 40-45 pounds. Antique Ornate French Brass Louis XV Style Fireplace Surround High Relief
Fabulous ornate brass fireplace Surround in the Louis XV style in high relief. Measures 42" wide x 35 1/4" tall x 4" deep. Aside from needing a cleaning. The only thing I found is a small crack in the brass on the top(see pic#9) There are a few drip marks(see pic#s 2& 8) The white block you see on the back is just a styrofoam block. Although I haven't taken it apart. It looks like it is composed of 5 pieces. If the buyer agrees, I would prefer to dismantle it for shipping. THIS TILE SET IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FIREPLACE SET I HAVE EVER SEEN! THIS IS THE COMPLETE SET OF 17 FOR THE SIDES AND TOP OF A FIREPLACE. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE VICTORIAN HOME THAT THEY CAME OUT OF! THE TILE ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. ACTUALLY AMAZING CONDITION CONSIDERING HOW OLD THEY ARE. THERE ARE LITTLE RAISED TIPS ON THE CENTERS OF EACH OF THE TILES, WHICH THE GLAZE HAS WORN OFF. Antique Ornate Fireplace Surround Cast Iron w/ Griffin Circa 1800's Maine Coast
This rare cast iron period fireplace surround was rescued from a coastal Maine estate several years ago. These pieces are increasingly hard to find in any condition. This one is quite ornate and has the original eyelets for holding your fireplace crane for preparing meals. Etc. I have applied stove black to protect the finish. This could be easily washed off to restore a more original rusty appearance. It does have a repair on one ear of a side panel, once mortared into place this piece would not be necessary. Four modern bolts were added to assemble for photos. They can be used for final assembly, as they are only visible at the top or antique ones could be obtained. It has the number 3 on some of the pieces in old script. The detailed Griffin relief and fluted columns really set this one apart. It measures 46" wide by 16" deep ... moreby 35 1/4" tall. Looks like the sides are designed to sit on a 1" stone or brick hearth to bring them up to the correct level to join the front piece. The main base is 33" tall x 31.25" wide x 22" deep. Late 1800's Iron Fireplace Surround with attached Insert and with Grate. Out of an 1800 home in Troy. NY, where the American Industrial Revolution began. This piece was created by the foundry of Wm H Jackson& Co. in NYC. and is numbered"140. The Jackson family had foundries in New York City through most of the 1800's into the early 1900's. As you can see in the pictures, the actual fire surround can be detached from the insert if you wish. All pieces have surface rust but are very solid. The rear covers are missing. Very few of these pieces exist now due to age and urban renewal destruction. A really great Americana piece ready to be admired and even brought back to its original beauty. Surround is 33" high. 31" wide and 3" deep. Surround opening is 27" high by 18" wide. Attached insert is 9" ... moredeep. Grate is 18" wide by 9" high. Total weight approx. 50 lbs. Gorgeous ANTIQUE Fireplace Fender / Surround - Circa 19th Century - Bronze/Brass
This is a wonderful antique FIREPLACE FENDER with unique features. On each side of the fender is a circular. Concaved and relief plate depicting the face of a woman. We believe this to be a 19th century creation and possibly older. Amazing details with ball finials and an intricately carved base. The scroll work throughout is beautiful. A lot of skill and effort clearly went into making this piece. This fender came from the Minor Hill estate in McLean. Virginia. If you google Minor Hill, you will see that this is an 18th century house owned by George Minor, Sr and Jr in the early days. This is also the house where Dolley Madison is believed to have hid during her flight to and from Washington, DC during the War of 1812. There was a recent estate sale at this location where everything had to go in preparation for its upcoming sale. The second ... moreto last photo is how the fireplace fender was found at the sale. This Antique Cast Iron Fireplace Surround and Summer Cover features a fantastic Native American Scene of two seated Indians- one holding a bow on a stump. At a campsite shootin' the breeze after a successful hunt with a fire in front of a teepee, their beached canoe from the river in the foreground all in a dense woodland. All matching numbers on all four pieces of 474. Good shape with the cover having some copper plate loss and oxidation. With no repairs what-so-ever. The knobs are original with one being slightly dented. The surround has been repaired and welded and has been touched up with paint. The surround is common, where as the cover is not. This measures 30 1/4" wide by 30" tall overall and weighs 47 pounds actual. Pictures were taken inside with this being bone dry- neither wet down nor oiled. Antique Custom Built Wood Fireplace Surround & Mantel Salvaged from A&C House NR
Up for auction is an amazing and beautiful fireplace mantel that I salvaged from a 100 year old home located in a Northshore suburb of Chicago that was razed around 10 year ago. We salvaged a number of items. With this being one of the pieces. We completed the restoration of our home built in 1927 and this was initially planned for the Master Bedroom. We opted for a stone mantel salvaged from a Cleveland A&C, as our ceiling height was an issue. I am listing at the lowest price I am willing to sell, so I am hoping to find a buyer who shares the same passion for reuse and restoration of craftsmen build pieces. I sold the faience tiles that were part of this mantel a few years ago, however companies like Motawi Tileworks sell wonderful replacements that would fit perfectly. I have the metal fireplace frame/insert that I will include at no ... morecost. The Mantel is 88.5" Wide X 88.5" Tall(my measures. But it is very close if not perfect) I've included a photo of most dimensions that will help you decide if this will fit. Most likely this will be for a new build or renovation, as it was custom built for the original house. There are two side panels, as the mantel stuck 11" out from the wall, which can be used or not(flush with the wall) The mantel is dismantled and I have all of the trim pieces, so it is ready to be installed.I highly recommend a professional carpenter.
