We are pleased to offer this very nice. Antique to older vintage, fireplace fireback with stand. This wonderful, Art Deco designed piece features heavy cast iron construction. There are two large ancient Greek or Roman warriors, both on horses/steeds, and in apparent battle. The scene is completed with wisps of textural clouds above. All of the intricate designs are done in a very dimensional, repousse, fashion. The top is also finished to look like clouds so the screen is quite unique with the top not being uniform on each side. Complete with letter from Smithsonian and a letter from H& R Johnson tile dating the tiles and describing the hand painted process used and explaining how this tile would never be recreated today because of the cost. These were produced using a process called"tubeline" and have a logo of a greyhound which was the owners dog who won the Stakes at the Waterloo Cup for coursing. These are breathtakingly beautiful. This is an antique brass Art Deco fireplace fender. It is 49 1/2 inches long. It is 8 1/2 inches high. It is 14 1/2 inches wide. It is real brass. Not plated. I could not find any markings on it, but I am not sure where I would located them, since this is my first fender. The main problem is the left side corner piece is lose, it screws in, and I can't get it to tighten. It does show wear. No cracks or repairs. Does have some minor dents and green. We are pleased to offer this antique fireplace surround. This is a very nice piece and in very good condition. This set includes the fireplace surround. Summer cover and atta. ched grate. The fireplace has a very textured surface which is gilded and is a coppery gold in color with black accents. The insert grate has columnal design which is reminiscent of the Greek Parthenon or Roman Pantheon. The fireplace has strong French Empire characteristics and feel. The removable summer cover door has a knob on each side. This unit is in very good condition with minimal evidence of age. The gilded finish is still very rich on the back of the summer cover door(see photo 9) There are no areas of rusting and the fireplace is structurally quite nice. There are numbers on the back. Description A great Art Deco French wood burner by Deville& Co. Charleville. Made in the 30's and a particularly well styled and coloured piece. This stove would be the ideal addition to a period deco space, as you can see it's in use at the moment in our place, but the room it's in is 24 x 23 feet and it isn't powerful enough to heat the whole room, I would say this would be ideal for a room about 14 x 14 max, it's 4-5KW, I think we need 12KW! It has a bronze metal look to it however I cannot state with certainty what type of metal this is. There is a Greek God on the front as well as small angels or cherubs present. The details throughout are stunning. This is a large item that measures 20" wide by 25 and 1/4" tall by 1/4" thick. It weighs 21 pounds. There is minimal wear present with no breaks, bends, or repairs present. There is a small knob on the bottom which I believe was to lift this item up like a door. Antique Art Nouveau Deco Metal Fireplace Summer Cover Ornate Windmill Boat with&
This is an old/antique fireplace cover or cover for summer. It's made of some type of metal. I was able to get a magnet to stick to it. It feels too light to be cast iron. I thought it might be a tin material. But if it was, the magnet wouldn't stick. Even though there's surface rust type color places, I think it would clean up nicely. It's with a place for a pipe that slides over if needed. It has the surface rust type places but seems to be solid as far as I can tell and just needs some cleaning and maybe someone might want to paint it? I am not sure if it was originally made, but each side at the top and bottom have small hole places for small screws maybe? or maybe made for attaching or securing to the fireplace? It has the raised, embossed ornate designs. It looks to be a windmill, a river with a sail boat, village, men ... moreworking? and floral deco/designs around it. 12 photos uploaded hoping you can tell more about it and the condition. Side to side, across, it measures approximately 24 3/4 inches and 30 1/2 inches top to bottom/length. The little metal piece that sticks out on the back side, measuring front to back, almost 1/2 an inch. The pictures taken really doesn't do it justice. I have listed a very old vintage/antique rear. Vintage/antique heavy brass fireplace screen. This is a peacock fan goddess metal art Nouveau/art deco/ mid century screen. This scree has beautiful detail and the screen folds open from both sides and stays closed, with a brass trip and screw, one on each side of the screen. On the bottom of the brass closed front area is what appears to be a bearded head of a man. This is on back and front of the outside closed holder. The backside of the screen does show aged patina and use. This is very heavy, and weighs about 20 pounds before packing to be shipped.This is solid brass. Up for bidding is this pair of Art Deco copper plated brass andiron guards designed by Donald Deskey from the 1930's. Both guards have some plate loss and other surface wear from age and use.
