Antique Victorian Fireplace Surround Cast Iron 1901 Deer Wildlife Scene Complete
Here we have an amazing cast iron fireplace surround complete with frame and door. It came from a home built in 1901 and mantle it was with was dated 1901 on the builders label. As you can see it has an incredible Outdoor Scene with deer and a 12 point buck and other very ornate detail. It measures approximately 24.5 inches wide and 30.25 inches tall(outside dimensions) It is in wonderful condition and will clean up nicely. We have an additional surround currently listed. Vintage Cast Iron Solid and HEAVY Fireplace Irons Tools With Stand NICE
These REALLY look like brass. But a magnet sticks to everything, so I am assuming it is cast iron. They are at least from the 70's, because they were in my Mothers house for at least that long. They are very heavy, and solid. Of course, there is some slight surface rust and signs of age, but no damage or abuse to call. I think they will clean up beautifully! The poker is a little bent, but nothing that cannot be straightened if it bothered you. The stand's handle unscrews, from the base, so I will separate it for shipping. That should just about do it! For sale is an old antique cast iron or iron fireplace front surround. This item was removed from an house in Saint Louis City. Most of the houses were build in the early 1900's and late 1800's. This item does have wear from age. Paint peelings, and scratches. It could use painting and does have surface rust(See pictures) There are no cracks that I can see. The measurements are about 31 1/2" wide x 31" tall, the opening is 20 1/4" wide x 25 1/2" tall. This item does have some flaws,but is usable. Up for auction is an wonderful antique cast iron Gothic Revival fireplace insert from the 1800's. Fireplace insert came from a house located in one of many historic areas in the Cincinnati. OH area. Fireplace front measures approx 30 1/2" x 24 3/4" Rear insert sections measures approx 27 1/2" x 21" Fireplace is in very good condition showing the expected signs of wear for an item of its age. Cast iron was lightly cleaned and the asbestos was removed from the interior and properly disposed of. Five of the screws/bolts holding the front cast iron sections are not original to the piece. We are pleased to offer this very nice. Antique to older vintage, fireplace fireback with stand. This wonderful, Art Deco designed piece features heavy cast iron construction. There are two large ancient Greek or Roman warriors, both on horses/steeds, and in apparent battle. The scene is completed with wisps of textural clouds above. All of the intricate designs are done in a very dimensional, repousse, fashion. The top is also finished to look like clouds so the screen is quite unique with the top not being uniform on each side. The fireplace has a very textured surface which is gilded and a coppery gold in color. The insert grate has columnal design which is reminiscent of the Greek Parthenon or Roman Pantheon. The removable summer cover door has a knob on each side. This unit is in very good condition with minimal evidence of age. Prior owner told me that these were from late 1800's to early 1900's but that is according to them. LATE VICTORIAN ANTIQUE CAST IRON FIREPLACE SURROUND w/HOOD 22 1/2" x 27 3/4"
Late Victorian era cast iron fireplace opening surround. 27 3/4" high, 22 1/2" wide, inside opening is 16" wide. Foundry style number"40" in raised numbers on the back. Design is simple and geometric with a diamond shape center top, very simplified stylized flowers and foliage on either side. The little arms sticking out in the opening would have been for the summer cover to lean against. There is quite a bit of surface rust and quite a few old crusty coats of paint on this surround. The molding details will be much more obvious with restoration. I have seen another like this that had excessive wear and the details were not as pronounced as on this one. Stands 24" tall. It breaks down into 3 pieces for safe shipping. Re-assembles with its original screw at top and nut underneath. Beautiful patina. Has a#36 casting marks on the back side of the vertical piece and also underneath. This mantle is marked 1893 and is made of gorgeous golden oak. This is a rare-to-find complete fireplace mantle with tile surround and cast iron insert. It must have been pulled out as a whole. The original fireplace celery green tiles are of high quality(probably TRENT) tiles and have soot marks that exactly match the wood surround and the same is for the cast iron fireplace cover. The tiles were removed with their original mounting board that was installed with the mantle. Everything matches up beautifully forming a complete mantle set as it must have stood in an incredible 1890's Victorian. Art Nouveau was all about bringing nature into the home. ... moreHere you have leaf and pea pod vine design and carved tree forms in the columns. It is a brief period where conventional design was replaced by whimsical concepts. The celery tile color and oak woods all combine to bring nature inside the home. There is even a free-form carved tree decoration at the top that is SO unique! Imagine selling this concept to the homeowner's decorator! This is a rare mantle for sure! This is also a ball& stick design which was popular in the late 1800's with turned spools at the upper. Mid and lower galleries. There are three shelves and a wonderful beveled mirror that fits perfectly and was professionally installed. The tile is a celery green and has cracks but has been wonderfully saved on the original mounting board and is ready to install. This mantle would be a fairly easy project for a builder to manage. Everything fits perfectly together like a puzzle. The installer would have to build minor attaching brackets to secure this to your wall. This could be installed in hours. Notice in pics 5& 6, that on the front top of the grate, there is a sliver of cast iron that appears to be either missing or it was cast that way, I'm not sure, however, its difficult to see and does not take away from the integrity of the item and it does NOT affect its use. ANTIQUE 1920s CAST IRON FIREPLACE ANDIRONS FROM OLD SPANISH HOLLYWOOD MANSION
NO RESERVE… This auction is for a handsome old pair of Fireplace Andirons. For whatever it is worth. When I purchased these at an estate, I was told these came out of an old Spanish Mansion in the Hollywood Hills called" The Castle" that had been owned by Rock Hudson. Rock Hudson bought the"Castle" house on Beverly Crest Drive the early 60s, and owned it until he died in 1985. The house has likely changed hands several times over the years, and I don't think there is anyway to substantiate that provenance. I looked up photos of the inside of his home on the internet, and found nothing in them that shows andirons closely. I do know many Hollywood stories, get embellished over the years, so I would not put a lot of stock in any story of what belonged to whom. I don't think stories like this one adds anything to the ... morevalue, but is just an interesting bit of Hollywood lore. These Andirons are indeed old 1920s era. And have a handsome design on the front. It looks to me that they have a bit of Chinese design on the front. The front legs look a bit like legs of a Foo Dog. Each one measures approx. 10 inches wide at the front feet, and about 17 1/2 tall. It looks like they were originally painted black, but there is a lot of wear to the paint. There is dark surface rust on the back of them. I have used a yellow pencil to point in a couple of my photos at one of the andirons. I am pointing at the iron arm stand on the backside. That would go into the fireplace opening. It looks to me like the end has broke off at some point, a long time ago. That piece can be removed and replaced if someone desired, or could be used as it is. Both andirons are marked on the back, Pullman, New York 622" There is a single screw post bolt on each one that connects the front piece to the back arm, that goes into the fireplace. These need to be removed for shipping, to save on the cost. When I was removing one of the screws it sheared off(broke) so I drille

Antique Cast Iron Owl Andirons Amber Glowing Glass Eye Fireplace
Antique owl cast iron andirons with amber glass eyes. Condition as shown on pictures- some scratches and pitting to the glass eyes. One of the andirons has a new shiny screw connecting its owl to the horizontal crosspiece that supports the logs(it is loose and causes the owl to lean forward. I believe that it needs a better screw- that should be an easy fix. The glass eyes catch the light from fire and twinkle ever so magically. Each owl is approx. 13 inches tall.

Here is a beautiful set of antique brass. Very detailed and ornate fireplace andirons with cast iron backs marked BENNETT. Claw feet, acanthus leaves around the top, a pattern similar to fleur de lis up the front and side of the top. Very, very detailed; there isn't a part that doesn't have some kind of design on it. The feet alone are double knuckled, detailed and measure 1-1/2" x 1-1/4" to give you an idea of size. Some of the fanciest ones I've seen. They are in excellent condition. Each one measures 23" tall. 18" deep, and 10" across the front. These are quite heavy.

You can see the beautiful cast metal design work in the photos. The center exposed gas log portion of the boiler section was painted a silver color which. Narurally, is designed to burn natural gas and which therefore heats the entire center section boiler which in turn would heat a room. The pipe connections and the valve to this gas log are attached. There is one more decorative cast iron piece(not shown) that covers the rear of the gas log to protect the rear wall surface from heat when the burner is in use. The center section w/o the decorative top front piece, the gas log w/o its lower cast covering(the complete covering is fully visible in the first shot) and then the decorative cast front top piece along with the cast top mantle piece. Vintage Cast Iron Fireplace Cover-Architectural Salvage
Go back in time to the 1800's and you will find this wonderful decorative cast iron Fireplace Screen taken from an old brownstone house in Brooklyn N.Y. It was too beautiful to leave behind. Very charming design of a female wood nymph in her garden. The frame is beautifully etched to compliment the center design. It has lived now as an architectural adornment in my garden and has developed a beautiful patina which I hesitate to clean. It is a stunner and a wonderful piece for a collector of fine architectural pieces. It measures 25" wide and 30 1/2" tall. Antique Cast Iron Figural Lady Andirons Fireplace Unusual
A pair of early lady figural antique cast iron period fireplace andirons. Circa? I found in the books years ago and now can't find the book or any information on these andirons. Measure 12" high overall with a 7 3/4" spread at the foot. The nicely cast pair featuring a standing female figure. A very nice pair of period andirons in good condition showing little rust at the foot of the ladies and a little on the back from age appropriate use. I am sure. In very sound condition. Beautiful Antique Victorian Era Fancy Cast Iron Fireplace Front Pediment 19 lbs. I am still listing new items from Indiana. And have a boatload of new things from the flea market too. Lots of primitive antiques, farm finds, folk art, and the usual wacky Maureen stuff- you don’t want to miss this week! Here is a drop-dead-gorgeous Victorian era cast iron fireplace front for you- ready for your hearth or just beautiful decor. You won't believe the heavy 19 lb weight- and it's all cast iron. Too. This beauty has a lovely fancy scrolly design in the center, and it's most recent coat of paint is jet black. Sometimes black comes off looking a little grey with my camera, but it's jet black for sure. This is only one of many many coats of paint- you can see other colors where the paint is very shabby chippy worn- more so on the edges ... moreand highest relief areas- see photos 4-11& 14, but there's small spots of wear in other areas of the body too. The color before the black looks to be a buttery yellow(best seen in photo 4) On the backside as seen in photo 20, there's literally drips of paint from days gone by. The same yellow mentioned, as well as a rose color and light green can be seen) I don't know if that's paint layers from painting this front, or drips from the wall(which is what I think) but it's all part of the very cools story of this oldee! The many layers of paint have protected this beauty well, and there's very light surface rust in the spots where the paint is worn down to the metal- minor, especially for the age. It measures 27 3/4" tall and 18 3/4" wide. It's about 1" deep measuring from the back to the highest relief areas in the front. Each foot on the bottom has one screw mounting hole from when it was in place. It's dirty, and needs a good bath- I have not cleaned it in any way. It's in excellent solid and sturdy condition- built to last and oh-boy it has. What a treasure! At this weight, it will be expensive to ship to some locations,
