Well made piece with simple elegant decorations. It is in good condition, although does have a couple small flaws. There is slight wear to the finish in spots, the carved rose on the top doesn't have any losses, and there is a crack on the topof the frame,but it isn't noticable(I tried to get some photos, but again it is not noticable! Antique French Provincial Style Tall Electric Mantel clock marked Louis XV
This is a rare French Provincial Style clock.So it's very formal and could go in almost any room. This gorgeous piece can be a tall mantle clock or go on any table or nightstand or chest of drawers. Very versatile decorating piece that designers love to find. The clock is working fine. This lovely estate sale find is in perfect vintage condition. The face of the clock is gold and very ornate with Roman Numerals and thats where it's marked Louis XV. There are no other maker's marks that can be seen. This gorgeous piece is 11.5 inches tall at the tallest point and 5 inches wide and 3 inches deep. I don't see any scratches on the clock or glass face. Fine condition. Offered is a pair of French Louis XV Rococo style brass andirons. I am uncertain of exact age. Brass fronts appear to possibly be significant older than the log rests. The rests rust significant from use and these may be replacements of the originals. There are bolts on each brass front to secure a fender but no fender is included. The only thing I found is a small crack in the brass on the top(see pic#9) There are a few drip marks(see pic#s 2& 8) The white block you see on the back is just a styrofoam block. Although I haven't taken it apart. It looks like it is composed of 5 pieces. If the buyer agrees, I would prefer to dismantle it for shipping. French Louis XV Style Fireplace Screen Brass Ormulu Vintage
This French Regency style brass 3 piece folding fireplace screen has a scroll frame with black wire mesh panels. There are touches of verdigris on the frame and the base has claw footed feet. The Ormulu style of French gilt brass is over a base metal of unknown material. There is some loss of brass finish on some of the lower portions of the panels and feet. The entire width is 42" with the main panel 19 1/2"W X 31 1/2"H. The side panels measure 11 1/4"W X 28 1/2" H. The wire mesh is in good shape except for the edge of the mesh that has come away from the frame on the back center panel for approx. 3" but does not show on the front nor affect efficiency. Offered for sale is this Antique white Carrara Marble French Louis XV Fireplace Mantle. It is from the Estate of Mabel Jean& Zebulon P. Owings. Of 70 Fremont Place(the Drake Mansion) Los Angeles. It was purchased from the Owings Estate Auction in 1969. The Owings were the third family to inhabit the Drake Mansion. The widow Mabel Jean Owings, had the contents auctioned off, and she moved back east. The mansion was torn down after that. The mansion was used as Mr. Peyton's home in the television series-Peyton Place' It measures 49" wide by 16" deep and is 41-1/4" high. It has an elongated D-shaped top with serpentined and molded edge. The projected columns crested with shells and scrolls. The serpentined face with leaf tips centering moldings.
