Just have a plumber hook it up for you and you're ready to enjoy the ambiance and look of a bygone era. I have several in my house that are hooked up and working and they are simply amazing. I don't use them for actual heating. But do turn them on when I'm in one of the rooms for the wonderful ambiance and extra heating they provide. If you have a fireplace with a gas hookup and it's just sitting there empty, consider one of these heaters to add additional warmth and a whole lot of charm to your room. The ceramic backplate is in perfect condition with no cracks. This heater measures 20 1/2 inches tall. 28 inches wide and 8 1/2 inches deep to the end of the finials on either side. Beautiful antique Humphrey Radiant Fire gas heater. This phenomenal piece came out of one of the largest and most beautiful old Victorian homes in this area. I love the lines and the detail on this heater- wonderful old brass finials. Take a look at the pictures and use the zoom feature to truly appreciate what you are seeing. I cleaned this up a little bit. But you will want to give it a good detail cleaning to bring out all of its original beauty. My understanding is that is was working when it was disconnected. MILWAUKEE WIS. At one time this had a gas burner in it that could be lit for heat. The burner is no longer in it. The logs and the main frame are made of cast iron and the inside back, bottom is made of tin. The connecting mechanism from the top log to the bottom log is missing. I have placed a piece of wire where it should be to show how it works. The logs have small slots in them so when the burner was lit the flames would be in back giving the logs an appearance of being on fire. This Lawson is model# 210. Its pretty old and has not been tested since I acquired it. It's rusty but still solid. It has the original 5 ceramic inserts but 2 are broken. The on/off lever does move still. All original bolts appear to be there but are a little loose. This unit can be easily restored or can easily be appreciated for its character if kept as is. Its exactly 20 1/2 in. tall. 22 1/2 in. wide, and 10 in. deep.

This is an antique gas radiant wall heater. All original parts, removed from a project house in South Gate CA, built in 1928. It is cast iron with a near perfect porcelain glaze. At the time of salvage, it was still connected to the house gas and was operational. Its ceramic radiant panels are in tact with no visible chips or cracks. Rust, may be missing some vent pipe. may be a knob/ screw missing on the front bottom left, may have threads broke off inside. Hurts nothing. Screw would have been for the screen clean out on the bottom, has another one on the opposite side and the screen stays in place fine.There's turn mechanism on the right upper side by the vent, I'm not sure if complete or not, spins fine but not sure exactly what it does, air flow control knob? On the bottom right has cast iron shut off valve with gas control flow knob. Ceramic gas cartridges have some pieces missing, for the most they are complete besides a few have missing pieces, cracks.
