It has a pewter& silver plated front, set with panels of Fleur de Lys, which were attatched seperately, to a wooden or card frame, with faded worn material round the edge, and black embossed paper backing. I believe it is French, circa 1900& Arts& Crafts or Art Nouveau, in style. The glass and back part are missing. I can find no maker's marks. It measures 132 x 101 mm& weighs 50.2 grams. 20s French Art Deco quilt in over the top ROMANTIC ROSES Arts & Crafts Era Rare!
This quilt is massive. In wonderful museum quality condition and dates from the early 1920s with a true arts and crafts pattern of warp printed roses. French Art Deco fabric at it's best the size of this quilt betrays the fact that this was made by a wealthy person nearly 100 years ago who could afford the very best. It measures a massive 90"X 73" It's stuffed with cotton, winter weight-and is machine bound and hand tied. Fully reversible a whole cloth quilt of really the most favorite of my roses patterns I've sold over the years. It's not often made anymore warp weave print at least not in the Western world it's somewhat cost prohibitive to create today which is hilarious to think about-remember this fabric was handprinted but today's machines don't do it as well and people don't like it for they ... moredon't get it's supposed to look sort of blurry like it got wet, like a watercolor painting by a Cassat or a Sargent, symbolic of the shades of roses as well as the pattern in itself. Really a charming and usable antique I saw no damage no holes or stains if it's faded it's evenly. I don't think that it has been washed the fabric has that crisp starched feeling of the original sizing but it is still soft, clean and has been aired out on my seaside clothesline. It's a great piece and the fabric is bar none really wonderful.

Pierrefonds French Antique Pottery Vase, 13" tall, Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau
Here is a very impressive Pierrefonds(French) vase. It stands 13" high and has a 6" diameter near the base. It has a great Arts& Crafts or Art Nouveau bleeding hearts design around the neck that is exceptionally detailed for a molded piece of pottery. It has a wonderful warty guard glaze that is golden brown. Besides the"Pierrefonds" that is hand written on the bottom. The piece has two other hand written signatures which I suspect were the mold maker and the glazer. Since the piece does not have the standard Pierrefonds emblem but instead these hand written fired signatures and because the detail of the design element is so phenomenal(for a molded piece of pottery) I think this was first firing of a new or trial line. Penn Antique Restoration. 30"x80"x2" Antique Arts& Crafts French Entry Door w/15 Wavy Glass Lites. Strong. Heavy(about 120lbs! antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid oak core covered with 3/16" thick, oak veneers, and has an impressive Arts& Crafts style arrangement with 15, true-divided, wavy glass lites. Also, please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are almost 1/4" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. The door could be sanded and refinished several times before needing to be re-veneered. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However. Up for auction is an exceptional Bronze Plaque by French sculptor and medalist. Marie-Alexandre-Lucien Coudray(1864-1932) She was a pupil of Dumont and Thomas, Allouard and Ponscarme. Awarded the Premier Grand Prix de Rome de Gravure en Medailles in 1893, awarded the Silver Medal at the Universal Exposition. Her signature can be seen on the obverse in the lower right hand corner- L Coudray" see 1st picture. This high quality work portrays a farmer and son plowing on the obverse while on the reverse is a single gleaner. Work dates to Circa 1900. Measures 4"wide by 2 1/2" high. It is stamped on the bottom rim"Bronze" and carries the Paris poincon of cornucopia marking. Some spotting to the original finish otherwise excellent. Please review both pictures. For sale Antique French 19th century Art Nouveau/ Arts and Crafts boxed white metal letter opener and seal set. Each face has a different scene set in slight relief. The seal has four different cherub scenes while the letter opener depicts typical Art Nouveau style ladies. Foliage and flowers. The box measures approx. 26cm x 8cm x 3.5cm deep These stunning pieces are presented in their original box. The box is in super condition. It is fully intact. The hinges and fastener are in good order. The baize and linen linings are not ripped or torn- they are a little dirty which is to be expected over the years. The outside of the box has a little wear on areas of the corners and edges which, again, is to be expected, but is otherwise in good condition. Antique French Clock Movement Has A great Arts And Crafts look
Wonderful French movement in wanting to run condition. The escapement is in working and the springs are not broken. High grade movement with steel pallets on the verge. The dial is quite beautiful and has what I believe is a arts and craft pottery piece in the center of the dial? I did not take it apart to look to see if it was pottery? Large dial measuring 5 1/2' diameter. The bezel measures 5 6/8' diameter. The back of the bezel the part that fits into the case is 5 1/2' diameter. Very nice high quality 8 day movement. Antique Brass Beaux Arts French Exterior Entry Door Lockset Knob Plate Lock Key
Penn Antique Restoration. Antique Beaux Arts Style Entry Door Set Knobs Plate Lock Key. Gorgeous. Antique, entry door lockset made by"Lockwood Lock Co. of Fitchburg, MA circa 1914. The set consists of 2 brass knobs, 1 brass stamped escutcheon, 1 stamped brass rosette, 1 stamped brass keyhole cover, 1 iron mortise lock with cast brass faceplate, 2 working keys, 1 cast brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 set screws to connect the knobs, and 12 screws(not shown in the photos) to install the lock and plates. The knobs and plates are solid brass, not brass plated steel. Originally, all parts were copper plated, however, except for the keyhole cover, which retained most of it's plating, only traces of copper could be found on the other parts. The knobs and escutcheon have a stunning French style design-check out ... morethose whiplash curves! All parts were found dirty and unevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then. We've clea ned and polished all parts to the best of our ability. One of the knobs has a tiny dent. Which could be seen in the close up photo of the knobs, and the keyhole cover has some tiny dents too. Otherwise, the set is in great condition with only minor nicks and scratches here and there, typical for hardware this old. There are no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, gouges, or heavy scratches. The lock was opened. Inspected, and we sprayed WD-40 on and around all parts to facilitate their movement. We also made 2 keys to operate the lock, and we could make more for $6/key-email us after the auction if you are interested. If you like this set. Get it while you can! ANTIQUE ARTS CRAFTS VICTORIAN NOUVEAU FRENCH TWIST SPOOL GILTWOOD MIRROR 41"x21"
This offering is for a beautiful and OLD. Victorian/Arts& Crafts or Art Nouveau large wall or mantel mirror. This gorgeous mirror features a substantial(chunky, if you will) solid wood frame made of spooled wood with a center section of French or Barley twist accent. Trimmed similarly to an old window or door, the frame has four large corner blocks with an Arts and Crafts styled floral bouquet/basket appliques. The spool wood is hand fitted into the back wood frame which is also thick and substantial. The frame has been gilded and the color is now a beautiful, aged gold or bronzed color. The mirror is in very good condition for its age(early 1900s) There is some expected wear/aging to the patina of the wood. There are some minor scratches and chips but these are not distracting and actually compliment the character of the piece. There ... moreappears to have been one minor repair to the frame where it meets the mirror. It appears as a piece was cracked and has been glued to secure it(see picture 11) It is holding quite well with no issues. The back is faced with paper. The old hangers have been removed with a center hanger attached. I think the mirror is too heavy for a single hanger so you may want to add an additional hanger. The mirror is meant to hang horizontally as the corner floral baskets dictate this(otherwise, they will hang side ways) The mirrored glass is in good condition with no chips, cracks or loss of back coating. The mirror is large and measures 41" wide and 21" tall. It extends 2.75" from the wall. The mirror glass is 33.5" x 13.75" The mirror is heavy and weighs approximately 25-30 lbs. VERY RARE 19thC 1880s ANTIQUE FRENCH ARTS CRAFTS BEADED MESH FIREPLACE SCREEN
We are pleased to offer this EXCPETIONAL. RARE, ONE OF A KIND antique fireplace screen. This screen dates to the late 19th Century and features distinctive Arts and Crafts style with French influences in the beaded"arrow" design. The screen consists of 4 mesh panels(stiff iron mesh) Each panel features a unique, beaded design with the beads inset in the mesh. Each panel has the same design. There are four"arrows" on each panel, one on each corner. These arrows are set on a diagonal and point toward the center of the screen. The center of the panels feature elongated double octagons(again, formed with the beads) with an outward pointing arrow at their top, bottom and one on each side. The panels are attached with a simple down rod between each. The down rods are attached to small. Horizontal plates that give the screen ... moregreat flexibility in movement and also offers the ability to position the screen as you like. The actual panel rod frame is simple with hyper extending side rods topped with rounded"ball" finials. Wire is wound around the upper and lower horizontal panel frame. The beads are somewhat of a mystery. They do have color(pale green/blue. Tan/pale gold and white) but I cannot discern if they are glass beads or minerals. They are exceptionally nice when the light shines through the screen. Without direct light, the bead colors tend to blend in with the mesh so that the pattern is quite visible but the colors are more muted. I have photographed in both light conditions so that you can see the difference. This is a VERY RARE screen. It is not flashy. But old and a true piece of art made by skilled craftsmen. I have spent many hours researching and cannot find anything quite like it. I feel the screen may have been a custom made piece. It is in very good condition especially when factoring in the age of the screen(over 100 years old) The iron frame and iron mesh was once heavily gilded. A Circa 1910 to 1920's French Flambe Glaze Arts& Crafts Art Pottery Cup& Saucer Signed by Denbac. The condition is excellent and undamaged having no chips. No cracks, and no repairs. Excellent glaze and form. The cup measures 5" or 12cm wide including the handle; stands 2 1/4" or 6cm tall overall including the saucer while the saucer measures 5 3/4" or 14.5cm in diameter. We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL pair of 19th century chairs. The pair feature heavily carved. Walnut frames. They are high back with a slightly Gothic profile. The backs are open in a Ladder Back fashion with large, rounded medallions at the tops. The rounded sections are arched and scalloped on their lower sections. They are exquisitely carved in an intricate urn and floral pattern which is similar to that of the French Brittany style. A carved, scalloped design is also present. The lower cross"ladder" supports are arched, with the arches notched in a flower petal design, and have a center carved fan shaped accent. The upper side supports feature sections of elongated turned wood and unique finials. The legs are turned wood with both upper and lower supports. The front legs are accented with double turned wood supports ... moreas well as an upper support which repeats the design of the ladder back pieces. The rush seats are original and feature thick fibers which are assembled in 4 distinct, triangular patterns. The chairs are in very good condition for their age. The wood has some minor areas of wear to the finish. The seats have some expected wear to the fibers but, in general, they are also in very good condition. From the back view, you can see where the two sections of the back medallions come together. The chairs are fairly heavy and they are sturdy. This is a beautiful pair of antique chairs with incredible details and character. The chairs are tall. They measure 48.75" tall to the center back. They are 18.75" wide at the widest point.
