The overall size is just about 11" tall, 14.5" across and 11.5" wide at the widest point. Age is unknown but I'm thinking it could be late 18th or early 19th century.

Clean, odor free condition- each panel measures approximately 22" x 13" plus the handle- the joints are 18-1/2" plus finials& little ball feet- complete. No repairs, breaks or holes, a 2" length has come away from the lower track on one of the screens. A few minor screen bulges, no rust or corrosion. Unpolished so has nice original patina. I believe this hook mechanism was intended to keep a steady"grab" on a piece of roast meat or fowl suspended over the fire. I t came with some things purchased from a very prominent plantation estate here in Thomas County. Georgia around 20 years ago, and I have never seen another one like it before or since then. It appears to be an old device that was made around the mid 19th century. T he only identifying mark on it is t he word"Patentee" stamped on every section and an eagle or perhaps a Phoenix bird, stamped on the brass joints of the compound action mechanism. My crating fee is $200(the freight charge is separate) Please contact me before purchase for rates. Here is a beautiful old pine mantle that was removed from a home that was built in the late 1920's. Fortunately. The slate surround and slate hearth came out without a fuss and are included. The finish appears to be original. As the shellac/varnish is crackled with a great patina. There are a few spots of over-paint here and there where it met the wall. There are also a few holes and nicks here and there. The large hole on the right(red arrow) is for the flue control handle(which is also included) ... moreand part of it's mechanism. The flue flap itself is not included. Check all photos for condition. There are pieces of base trim from the house that are included to finish off the bottom of the mantel's legs. They were trimmed out in place after the mantel was installed. The base trim pieces will need to be cut to size and installed by a carpenter. The original wooden trim surround for the hearth is also included, though it's in rough shape compared to the rest of the pieces. The slate pieces are in good shape overall. With some wear on their faces from many years of heat and use. The hearth stone has scuffs and wear, as well as a few chips here and there. Check all photos for condition. 20"H Antique Cast Brass Iron Fireplace Mantel Mantle Andirons Hearth Log Holders
Penn Antique Restoration. 20" H Pair Antique Brass Fireplace Andirons. These beautiful antique andirons were made around the first half of the previous century and were salvaged from Northeastern PA. They have cast iron shanks. And heavy, cast brass guards. Unlike many lesser quality andirons available on eBay; the guards on these andirons are not plates or halves-the design you see on the front is the design you see on the back. Each guard has curved legs and a bulbous. Tapered body with 2 cups and a solid finial on top. The shanks, which hold the logs, curve to the sides of the guards at which point they continue straight, away from the guards. There is a brass plate covering the curved portion of each shank. Notice the delicate brass finials adorning the shanks at the point where their curves end—what lovely accents! The beauty of ... morethe design is enhanced by a wonderful. Rich patina. One of the guards has a significant degree of verdigris(green patina) We rubbed them with oil to accentuate the beauty of the patina, and we scrubbed the shanks with steel wool and WD40 to remove most of the rust. If you would prefer the brass parts bright and shiny, we could clean and polish them for an additional $60-let us know after the auction. We've included a photo of a similar pair of andirons that we cleaned and sold a few years ago(see last photo) All parts are in great shape with only a few nicks and scratches here and there. Antique Victorian Cast Iron Summer Cover - Fireplace - Hearth - 20 1/2" x 20"
It's an antique cast iron summer cover for an American victorian fireplace. Put in place in warm summer months to hide the open hearth or gas heater. There is a wonderful raised design in an oval panel of a fair maiden playing music and a child dancing. It has an old gold paint surface. Some of the photos were taken in the shade. And a few were taken late in the day in some sunlight. Please see enlarged pictures for condition. Circa 1890s-Early 1900s. It is 20 1/2" x 20" It weighs 16 pounds. The cast iron summer cover has a repaired crack across the lower part. Great to display in a garden area. Or hang it inside for an interesting art object.

Up for auction is an amazing Antique English Oak Fireplace Hearth Coal bin or shuttle. Made of solid heavy English Oak and even has what surprisingly appears to be the original tin liner and shovel. The locking lever for the door has a patent date of 1910 so this great little piece is somewhere around 100 years old. Purchased at the"Antique Guild" in Los Angeles. California about 1980 and I still have the original sales tag which came with it. Title of tag reads: An Old Piece Refurbished" To have it's full beauty restored. This piece of furniture has been hand stripped, then completely refinished by expert Antique Guild craftspeople. Hence, it not only embodies the virtues of classic design, fine materials and workmanship, it now presents to the world a fresh appearance as well. As the sales tag reads.
