Antiques Arts& Crafts Era Solid Wood Wall Mount Towel Bar Oak Every Memorial Day weekend. I go to a dealer in Indiana to treasure hunt, and I love my pickings this year. Lots of really interesting items this week- antiques and unique for sure! I’m also still listing new items from my last trip to the flea market, so there’s definitely something for everyone! Here is an antique towel bar with wonderful arts& crafts era style. Made of solid oak. It measures 18" by 3 1/4" by 3" deep- the towel bar space being 14 1/4" long. It weighs 2 lbs and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition structually, with rusitic wear to the age darkened patina, and the wood. There's a light round(looks like water matk) on the front of the bar that I'm showing in photos 4& 5- it's about the size of a quarter in width ... moreand a nickel in height. There's other scratches, scrapes, nicks, nibbles, dings and small corner chips- like I'm showing in photo 12. It's all part of the story of this beauty, though. You could polish to minimize all, but I wouldn't change a thing. There's two screw mounting holes on the backside- and you are good to hang.I can't tell for sure, but I think it is hand made. It's dusty. And could use a little clean up, but what a treasure you will have- you don't often see functional oldees with such style from this era. Love it! Please ask if you have any questions. It has the original brass door knob and back plates. An old turn knob door bell in the center…works! Door was reversed and re-hinged somewhere in the past. Two small stained glass lights are cracked but the rest of the glass is in very nice condition! The matching leaded stained glass side light is an added bonus! Here is a set of oak chairs in good condition meaning that they have all the parts and even though not perfect. They are a good start for someone who likes to refinish furniture. You could use them as they are but they could use new seat covers. I have had these in use since 1978 until 2 years ago when we replaced them. They have minor cosmetic flaws. You can see one picture where I braced the one chair because I used it for 32 years sliding back and forth on rough tile. The others I would occasionally have to reglue the pegs. I believe that these are probably machined chairs and seeing that oak was in fashion from about 1890 to about 1920 they were probably made in the 20s or before. I believe these are mostly white oak and maybe some red oak. These will be picked up in 60187 and don't bid on them if you live in California. This is in ... morethe Chicago area.
