This is a stunning antique 19th century large gold gilded bronze fireplace fender. it has beautiful ornate solid bronze stylized lion head feet on the corners. the fencing of the fender is extremely detailed with pierced cross-like design and very ornate. the bottom edge of the fender is a nicely ribbed bronze rail. there is also a rounded top rail that runs around the whole top edge. it has a wonderful patina from age and measures 42 3/4 inches long by 9 inches tall by 13 1/4 inches back to front. it is a very large fender and in good antique shape. Local estate find! Antique brass? bronze? figural fireplace andirons. These were purchased at a Grand Rapids Estate sale from a family that traveled extensively. They feature lion heads with claw feet and acanthus leaves. The twisted spiral accents add extra detail. They are 24"tall. 11" wide and 19" from front to back. They will ship unassembled. The patina is dark especially on the back side from smoke. I have not attempted to clean them, preferring to leave the patina in the original state. They weigh over 18lbs. Thanks for looking. Antique Solid Brass Lion Head Andirons I could have cleaned these up but I wanted to get them listed with the Fireplace Tools that are also listed. These lion's head andirons were used together with the tools even though they didn't match up the same but looked great together. The andirons don't have log holders attached because they were used with a different log set up. If you need a set they are easy to find. Each piece measures 20.5" tall and 9.5" across at the feet. They are very heavy. Each one weighs almost 10 lbs. The condition is very good. They do not need anything except polishing if you don't like the brass patina. This pair of Victorian black iron fireplace andirons have ornate bodies with feet and lion heads. The balls at the top are not iron but lighter hollow metal. Antique Tole Full Size Coal Scuddle Lion Head Claw Feet with Lid. Insert and Handles. Estate find in Charlotte VT as displayed, as pictured, as purchased. Tole Paint on outside and inside, Scuddle solid, displays well, no holes, no rot. Insert with handle does have some age rust on bottom with some small holes. Looks so nice displayed next the fireplace. Measures 23 1/2" tall x 11 1/2" wide x12" deep. Please review all photos and ask any questions. Thanks for Looking!
